Blades[edit]

Those blades on his back... One Piece Three Sword Combat Style much? [Z. Ametefe] 11:32 p.m. August 8, 2007 --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:70.74.126.173 .

They look like 2 swords to me... but then again, I didn't watch much of One Piece. -- ab.er.rant sig 05:41, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
If you read the dialogue during the quest, the three swords stand for his family, his village, and his honor--the three things robbed of him by Rend Ragemauler. Nice little backstory. 404notfound 10:37, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Ascalonian assassin?:P --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:137.163.21.50 .

According to google's beta translation of the Chinese manual ...
"Antoine"
"Men Ashkelon assassins"
"Antoine many years ago was jailed in Sumiya, and waiting for death penalty executions. In his mind to cherish a grateful Charles : Charles invasion because Ashkelon, only he has escaped from prison, 'the opportunity to escape the death penalty. Antoine took a few years for fleeing north, and attack Richard life, even the captain has to Gilmour he joined the ebony vanguard, he justifiably ebony investigation into a soldier. Once there, the majority of the people to safety, he is using the skills of assassins. Antoine never thought of herself is a courageous man, but he knows he is the vanguard for the ebony a special affection have no intention to betray the organization. However, if even one day captain Thomas died, maybe his mentality will be different, perhaps when people could only see Antoine into darkness silhouette."

Captain... Thomas, eh? That would be fairly awesome... --Valentein 20:50, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
He looks really effeminate in that picture. 222.153.236.223 22:11, 17 August 2007 (UTC
No kidding- Catraine
The blades look like katars from old diablo 2 style assasins. They also look similair to the Wyvern Blade. My guess is a new skin like a Katar considering the influence Diablo 2 had on many of the A Net staff. Dancing Gnome 08:41, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
Grr! Darn those armies of invading Charles!69.249.223.63 17:49, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Ruins of Surmia[edit]

So....take him with you in that mission = plothole much? --- Raptors

I'm not completly certain with this one but I think he escapes before you and Rurik rescue the prisoners.(Marsc 21:32, 10 August 2007 (UTC))

Yeah, he was on death row in Surmia, and was able to escape because of the Charr invasion. -- Gordon Ecker 23:02, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
I thought the major holding place for Ascalonian prisoners was even further up north, in Drascir, where we don't reach in the game. --Santax (talk · contribs) 08:59, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
Didn't Drascir fall to the Charr years before the Searing? -- Gordon Ecker 09:37, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure. I remember in one of the missions, probably Ruins of Surmia, Rurik finds out that prisoners are being kept in Drascir and wants to head there, but for whatever reason he can't and they take refuge inside the Academy, where they find Stormcaller and get teleported to Nolani. --Santax (talk · contribs) 12:56, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Everything north of the wall fell during the invasion, including Drascir, Sumria and Nolani. The Drascir acadmey is supposedly on the southern outskirts of Drascir. Backsword 09:51, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

First Assasin Outside Canthan Origin[edit]

Is this true? Players can't create assasins outside of cantha, but this guy is clearly Ascalonian ethnicity, not just his homeland. No other known assasins outside of cantha? The other three campaign specific classes originated in there homeland and travelled to Tyria, Xandra is from the Luxon homeland, Kahmu is from Vabbi and the paragon chick is also from elona, but this guy is an assasin from ascalon.Dancing Gnome 08:42, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Correct. -- ab.er.rant sig 08:54, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
Maybe he attended Shing Jea Monastery before they closed it off to foreigners, or learned his profession from a Canthan. -- Gordon Ecker 09:09, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
Factions and Prophecies aren't completely cut off storyline wise, so it's reasonable that books, scrolls and tomes would be attainable by someone wishing to train as an assassin. Txzeenath 09:13, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
I don't think you need books, scrolls, and tomes to learn how to be an assassin... ;) -- ab.er.rant sig 09:20, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
Than we must be pretty stupid, or i've been doing it the wrong way the whole time. *laughs* -- Txzeenath 09:21, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
Razah was already a non-canthan hero. Chriskang 09:27, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Storyline wise, Razah comes from the mists, which connects all lands. -- Txzeenath 09:40, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

I thought Hayda was Elonian but I guess we don't know where she's from. I don't really count Razzah as they messed around with him so much he just feels weird to me I pretend he doesn't exist, Xandra was much easier to get, assuming you have the patience to fight through all her Vengeful Weapon spam. Besides my point is lore wise previously campaign specific classes were only found on people from that campaign, even then some magical being from the Mists can easily be an exception from the rule as he is special anyway. Now we have two characters which show people from outside elona and cantha can train in the ways of different classes. Dancing Gnome 15:08, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
I assumed Hayda was from Elona too, until I read it again and found that there's nothing specifically mentioning that. -- ab.er.rant sig 02:22, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
It doesn't say she is but it also doesn't say she isn't. She deffinitly could be from Maguuma/Kryta like Evennia as they have darker skin too. Maybe more will be revealed when you get here. I'm going for the other side, the Charr homeland instead. Dancing Gnome 08:19, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Fighting Tournament[edit]

Kinda sloppy they let him watch the tournament. You can enter the tournament before freeing him from the Charr. 84.87.168.39 16:57, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Ummm mabey its just teasing you, showing him off that kind of thing? OR it could be before he was captures, OR! its after you released him...the Norn fighting tourney isnt even part of the main story line so....71.222.47.119 10:43, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

I think it's just a cookie, like the GWEN event at the end of Beta. Non-canon. And yeah, maybe it was before the Charr captured him Dancing Gnome 16:59, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
Actually, doesn't he start off his quest line uncaptured? I'm not sure he was technically with Langmar's group, which is who you rescue, if I remember correctly. You kinda just "find" him later on; he's got a habit of popping up and disappearing like that. He's almost entirely devoted to his revenge, so anytime you spot him in a strange place, it's possible he's just looking for information. Norn Fighting Tournament seems like a good place to look for strong people. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 21:47, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Best quotes in the game?[edit]

Every time Anton says something, it just makes me like him even more. Anyone else agree? The quote "I like the quiet. Please stop screaming." is one of my favorites of all time, currently. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 07:36, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Yup. I thought the quest chain to get him would be boring (since I don't use assassin heroes anyway), but I must say that all his lines are very well written. -- ab.er.rant sig 07:52, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
"Why do assassins wield two blades? Because they only have two hands." I knew I was going to keep him a near-permanent addition to my party at that point. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Ĵĩôřũĵĩ Đēŗāķō.>.cнаt^ 08:02, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
"When you see my parents in the Mists, tell them I'm fine." *tear* Justgetmein 20:51, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
I could never like him, considering what he did to get locked up in a Surmia prison. --fraught · (talk) 20:05, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
His intentions were noble enough... at the time, he wasn't a great assassin, he was just a trusting man with a family and friends. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 22:05, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]

Anyone else see the ... in the trivia section? What's up with that? MiraLantis 05:51, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

His weapons change at some point during his quest arc, but it doesn't seem that anyone knows what the first dagger set actually is. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 05:56, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Oh. OH. Oooooooh. I get it. I don't have him yet on my ranger, I'll keep an eye then. Should we change it to (unknown) you think instead of the ...? MiraLantis 05:59, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
I moved it to notes and reworded it. Oh, and while you're at it, try getting a screenie of his dialogue as an NPC too. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 06:09, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Rambo Reference[edit]

just from the qoute, also the quests help but, it seems like a huge Rambo reference, waiting execution, escapes, becomes this solo little devil thing that kills a ton of guys and ends of winnning. Hmm.--User Fire Tock sig.jpgFireTock 18:31, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Aside from both being prisoners, there is no other similarity. Anton was imprisoned by his countrymen for being a traitor. Rambo was a prisoner of war (several times I think). Anton got out because the city where he was imprisoned was destroyed. Rambo escaped. Anton is not "soldier" enough. He's just someone forced into military service and bent on personal vengeance. He's also a little too sociable and a little too cocky. So yeah, sorry, but can't see the similarity. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 11:42, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Possible Forrest Gump Reference?[edit]

I really hope I'm not reading too much into one of Anton's idle quotes (and I probably am) but his, "Life is like a box of knives," quote reminds me of the famous "Life is like a box of chocolates," one in Forrest Gump. I realise that the latter part of Anton's is drastically different to the second part of the movie quote, but I'm just wondering if I'm not the only one who thought of Forrest Gump when I saw the line. I don't want to add it to trivia without just cause, XD Any thoughts? Elysea 02:25, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Possible. Throw it in trivia and see if someone disagrees enough to remove it. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 13:40, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
What a retarded "reference". "Life is like a box of chocolates" is a common phrase. All of the trivia for Anton is wildly stupid, but this one's easiest to argue.--99.225.28.182 21:07, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Derp. It's a common phrase because Forrest Gump is a badass movie. –~=Ϛρѧякγ AHHH! (τѧιк) ←♥– 22:42, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Name[edit]

Whenever I see his name, it makes me think of Anton Mesmer, as though in homage to the fellow. Probably not the case, but that's what I always think of. ~ A R A ~ 05:05, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Langmar's Death[edit]

Anton must really like the players since he hasn't taken off since reports of her death. Then again, given the massive seat of power the Ebon Vanguard, and Tyrian human power structure overall have gained, and his cowardly ways, he might be staying on to be covered by the protection such power offers. Either way, what a lucky opportunist he is. -Yossitaru 05:33, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Why do so many girls like him?[edit]

Not even only him, but every pixel girl I've met on Guild Wars ALWAYS say they like Anton and assassin guys in general. What's up with dat? 71.194.87.164 22:57, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Girls Like Bad Guys...

I love daredevil.. :D But in GW I always had a penchant for Nente, and just about any ranger really lol

So why Can't I Kill this Boor?[edit]

"What do you want? Are you staring at me? You want some of this? Do you?"

I don't mind the Sullen tone, half so much as I do mind not being able to Fry him; if he's going to be Challenging my Character to a fight on a constant basis; the least the Dev's should allow is me to take the Knuckle head up on his offer and see him off to the Mists! (Oh but that might spoil the comic book story line. Akk. ) --Blackbirdx61 20:54, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

Running?[edit]

When I'm idle, or AFK, Anton randomly runs around. I'm not sure if I should be concerned by this, but it is pretty amusing.--ShananylDracon (talk) 23:40, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
