Whats the diffenerce between a "normal" armbrace and a cloned one. Does the collecter skill accept cloned ones?

I'm probably mistaken but isn't it an Ambrace of Truth? 204.52.179.199 10:56, 22 May 2007 (EDT)

You are indeed mistaken, it is a common mistake tho, like the Silver/Sliver Armor --Lemming64 23:48, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Apparently this item has been duped to buggery and people should avoid buying them - 79.74.41.247 14:09, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Yeah There are so many on the market and there is a famous screen shot of 1750 in one trade window. i was so tempted to buy some but afraid of what Arena might to do anyone trading them. On the other hand if they only punish people with tons of them I'm going to feel stupid for not buying one when they were cheap--Komradkyle 21:40, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

I want them but theyre so exspensive.... --DOHF 18:48, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

how can u get i trouble for haveing a bunch ov em

Im sure its more about a single person having several thousand armbraces then just being rich. even at a low price of 100k each, 1000 armbraces would be 100,000,000g aka 100million--Justice 23:39, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

trivia claim[edit]

did anet actually say that "hundreds of thousands" of armbraces were cloned? it's certainly possible, but unless they actually made that claim, maybe we should limit it to "many thousands" or "tens of thousands." --VVong|BA 14:04, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

true, hundreds of thousands is a little far fetched imo, my only question now is, when they nurf ursan, will the price go up? I just got one from doing Full Runs in DoA...debating on whether i should get my destroyer weapon or invest in the fact that the only meta way to farm DoA is going to get nerfed...I wonder if they'll nerf it completely..or just minor, either way i still wonder if the price of armbrace will go up...noobs don't know how to beat DoA in a balanced team.--Ʀєʟʟɑ 20:43, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
How the hell do you "clone" an item!? It's a bit of a cliché these days isn't it?----Stokoe Talk 15:58, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
I don't think you guys understand the scope of this...you could dupe an entire trade window (1750x2) of armbraces, or anything else for that matter, at will. It involved a bug with the reconnect feature the first time and I believe server packets the second time they did this. There were easily tens of thousands floating around which would only take a few seconds to make. A couple retards posted photos of storage panels filled to the brim with ecto and armbraces (250x20=5000) one of which was actually pretty famous and has been kicked around the web for a while now. This also happened to rare miniatures but on a much much smaller scale since those are blatantly obvious. 98.219.48.111 06:29, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Dude you're not gonna get banned for buying an Armbrace of Truth off somebody, lol. There's nothing in Terms of Service that says you're liable if you buy something from someone you didn't know was illegally obtained. Hail and Kill! 16:02, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Obtaining This the Normal way[edit]

How do you obtain an Armbrace of Truth the normal way? I saw the listings by either Defeating Mallyx or turning in 60 Anguish Gemstones, but if I kill all the areas in DoA once, can I just go back to Mallyx, or do I have to go kill all of DoA again? Secondly, which method is better, buying/obtaining 15 Gemsets and trading, or Killing Mallyx? Than 01:39, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

In order to turn in the 60 Anguish gems, you have to complete one "section" of the DoA. That can be any of the four locations in the main DoA area, as well as the Ebony Citadel mission. And once you've beaten Mallyx, you have to do the whole thing over again -- all four areas -- to get back to his mission. The Spirit of Truth you have to talk to will be spawned after killing the overlord of the area. Also, you don't get an armbrace for killing Mallyx; you get four gems -- one of each type -- for doing so, by accepting the quest reward. All in all, they're really not worth the effort, except maybe the hammer, and even then only because it looks like a margonite head. --Jette User Jette awesome.png 01:51, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

He could ask for armbraces all he'd want, but I'd rather buy 40-50 presents off other players in that case.  ;) 193.215.199.34 13:29, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

A question[edit]

Out of curiosity, how much would you guys say these are worth nowadays? In ectos / plat / etc. ? ~Aenya

I understand...[edit]

the confusion between sliver and silver armor, but what the hell is an ambrace?? 74.37.182.28 23:10, 21 July 2011 (UTC)Mike DeAngelis

People misspell words that look unfamiliar. Sliver/Silver are two common word that look alike. Armbrace is outside most people's experience (as is Unguent). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 23:30, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
It's especially easy to misspell words that aren't in any dictionary. --Irgendwer 03:44, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
I know armbrace is one word, but arm brace is more likely to be in the dictionary. We know words like arm and brace, don't we? TheyCallMeIgi 05:39, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
Funny thing about the name is that 'brace' comes from Latin 'bracchia', meaning 'arm'. TheyCallMeIgi 07:25, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
They might be thinking of a vambrace. Blue Totoro 22:25, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
