Archemorus' Strike[edit]

Does anyone know where this is coming from? I got hit by it during the fight with Argo. I didn't catch the description, but it hit me for 300 damage. -- Gordon Ecker 05:53, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

I redid the mission twice and didn't get hit by it. -- Gordon Ecker 08:20, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
It's a rit skill so it has to come from a rit, unless its related to the Spear of Archemorus, I don't recall any rits there though. Fall 08:29, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
It's a while since I was last here, but I thought it was something along the lines of an attack by the Spear (or skill or something) on any characters with more Kurzick faction than Luxon. Proximity to the spear also has a bearing I think, keep your distance and it does not attack. I'm at work now though, so it'll be a while before I can confirm I'm afraid. --Winters Blessing User Winters blessing sig.png 08:51, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Managed to get a screen cap so I filled out some info. I know you have to be near the spear during the fighting for it to hit you. Attempting to pick up the spear doesn't trigger it. It might be time based with a long interval, but that's just a guess. Tedium 08:57, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
I believe even going close to the spear makes it go off. — Eloc 15:03, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
It's not just simply being near the spear. I was standing next to it the entire time for the three battles. It only hit me twice, once after the first battle and once during the middle of the second battle. I could not tell exactly what was triggering it. Tedium 01:08, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
i took 2 hits at the same time, leaving my party to death except me keeping at 25 health ;o 86.82.19.96 16:23, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Faction update[edit]

I'm pretty sure you don't get the original 500 faction.

I went into Boreas Seabed with 0 Luxon Faction (having never earned any previously) and came out with 3000 after Master's Reward on Normal. Nom 12:29, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Recently completed this mission for the first time with my Prophecies character, I got it on masters on the first attempt (Normal Mode), and got 3x1000 faction reward. Needs to be confirmed and main page updated. Josestefan 08:02, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
I did this for the first time in Hard Mode today, got master's, and got 3,000 Luxon faction. Am I reading the article wrong, or doesn't it say that I shouldn't have gotten any faction since I had already completed it (master's level) in normal mode? Freedom Bound`

Trouble with the first group?[edit]

If you are having trouble with the first group, it may be easier to walk around the center (following the wall and going behind Elder Rhea), towards the south gate. The gate will then stay closed, and you will at least not have to worry too much about the melee enemies. Cavalier 22:00, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Some useful tactics for HM[edit]

Hi, just wanted to share some tactics for hard mode this mission easy.

  • Bring blind conditions for the ranger/warrior bosses to completely shut down their damage output.
  • Interrupts and/or Dazed condition can help a lot. If H/H this mission bring panaku (Daze+KD) and at least one mesmer. Sabway/Discord works great.
  • With Argo interrupt the "Argo's Cry" monster skill shut him down as much as you can, spread your heroes/henchies from AoE and all should go well.
  • Once near the final boss spawn, do not kill the krakens right there, pull them back so that when the boss spawns can't res them up.
  • Divert, interrupt and/or daze "Zhu Hanuku" as much as you can.
  • Kill foes arround only to remove death penalty, go straight form the champions to the final boss.

Dunno if this was known or not, but bringing a minion master and letting the minions die / over spawning minions also charges the spear, so bringing bone minions + taste of death is a quick way to keep the spear at lvl 5 constantly ^^--Munkypoo7 11:41, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Pain Inverter[edit]

Is really useful on this Slayzie 09:01, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

2 Zhu Hanaku[edit]

Two of them spawned when I did it with the wife. I would add a bug, but no idea how to. Tong2 17:26, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

It always happens, not really a bug imo.--Im Irrelevant 05:09, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

Wha'ts itneh chest?[edit]

THe one behidn the Kraken boss? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 98.232.161.160 (talk) at 17:05, 11 April 2010 (UTC).

Chuck Norris miniature!
But seriously speaking, it was just a regular chest, or locked chest in Hard Mode, with some random item. - J.P.User J.P. sigicon.pngTalk 17:23, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Timer?[edit]

When does the timer start? As soon as the first gate opens or after the cutscene? Dio 00:21, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

It's easy enough to check if you use /age when the end-boss is down to its last few hit points. I forgot to do this when this was the ZM, but I did check Vizunah Square (another mission that makes you wait before you can start). IIRC, I got credit for a 24:20 time even though /age showed closer to 26 minutes. I don't know if the bonus is tied to cutscenes or gate opening or entering the instance, but ANet appears to have added some wiggle room. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 14:48, 23 November 2011 (UTC)

Stuck Red Bars[edit]

So, I'm standing here after the last wave of goons in the opening bit of this mission and for some bizarre reason, all of my team's (me + heroes) red bars are all down some and stuck in place. My healer won't heal anyone by himself, other than one char wielding a vampiric weapon. Heals work if I do them manually, though, but it doesn't kickstart natural healing afterwards. Anyone ever see this here or anywhere else? Wondering if it's a rare bug in this mission or something general I've just never seen before. One possibility is due to my inadvertently being bombed by the Spear a couple times during the combats (slaughterfest was too close to it), and the second time was at the very end of the last skirmish.
