Four zbounties with Searing Flames seems like a bit much. Manifold User Manifold Jupiter.jpg 23:39, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

It's really awesome when my entire party gets hit for 230 damage from the boss alone, and that's not including the 3 other elementals that ALSO spam Searing Flames. Really fair bounty there ANet. Pjwned 04:14, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Party spreading FTW.--89.90.130.215 07:17, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
It also isn't very fair when Borrguus and co. come out of nowhere at 50 billion miles per hour while you're trying to clear out the area so that you CAN spread out your party. Pjwned 23:47, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
That's far too much work with H/H, especially when the area is infested with flowstone elementals who insist on meddling with your ganking the boss. Instead, take defense/shutdown: Panic, CoF, Ward Against Harm. And clear the area before taking on Borguus. -- Hong 07:56, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
I regularly have Psychic Instability and a few other interrupts on my heroes along with Koss in Dwarven Battle Stance and I still got raped multiple times trying to do this bounty. I did still manage to kill him, but the whole bounty is just not fair when you consider everything that can screw you over. Pjwned 23:47, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
Shelter and frigid armor. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 00:16, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Shelter is prohibitively expensive to cast and Frigid Armor only helps 1 person at a time and the whole issue is the massive area damage, not single target damage. Pjwned 03:48, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Soul Twist is generally used with Shelter, along with Union and Displacement. Even making 4 heroes immune to searing flames and resistant to the physical damage on the way is going to help a lot. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 04:24, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I guess I can see that. It's not entirely unreasonable to bring some specific skills that you usually don't bring if you're just going for a bounty target, but still, this guy is pretty annoying. At least the quest gives you a respectable amount of rep and gold for just 1 boss.
If he just didn't have such a MASSIVE patrol area with a ton of other enemies all around him (and he didn't run so god damn fast making it very possible for him to aggro on you out of nowhere and proceed to ravage your anus when you're not ready) then it would be a little more reasonable. Just wanted to thank you all for this discussion. Traditionally, I've always had trouble with fire opponents - it's complicated ;) - but with the hints here I was able to finally bite my way through Kathandrax in HM. The journey there was already hard for me before. Once I could get past Borrguus and his blisturds w/o too much damage today, I knew I had a chance. Thanks! 76.164.71.104 20:30, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Your best bet for taking on nuking foes like this are a Defensive Spirit spammer. Soul Twisting and a sleuth of defensive spirits blocks the aoe long enough for you to bring them down. http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:Rt/any_Soul_Twisting_Hero Thomasuwoo 13:27, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
