Is this going to be a directory? EatMoreCarbs 17:33, 8 February 2007 (PST)

Theres no page for this yet, so why ask? Blastedt(talk)GuildWiki page 17:35, 8 February 2007 (PST)

I was wondering if its intentions were to be a directory, since its listed on the main page, it must serve some sort of purpose. EatMoreCarbs 17:54, 8 February 2007 (PST)

Its still being discussed over here Lojiin 18:04, 8 February 2007 (PST)
What is the difference between Builds and Templates? Is Templates talking more about the process of loading and saving them... format of the Template file and such?
Just a note, guys: I only put up the description as a primer of sorts. If you want to add a Builds directory onto this, go for it.--VGJustice 00:48, 9 February 2007 (PST)
Shouldnt this be called Build?--Ofer1992 12:04, 12 February 2007 (PST)
If we are ready to start adding, I already got the base line down for the Touch Ranger in my userspace. I wrote it fresh, only using GuildWiki to view the skills. The variants are ones I personally use. --Frvwfr2 08:02, 29 March 2007 (EDT) Edit moved to User:Frvwfr2/R/N Touch Ranger
How do we add a link to a category? I tried to make a link to Category:Builds at the bottom of the page, but it counted as it being IN the category... --Frvwfr2 14:50, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

This is extremely strange... Guild Wiki has changed vastly.... where is the old one, that had over 500 builds?
This is Guild Wars Wiki. Guild Wiki remains at http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page. Two different wikis.--24.206.111.186 21:49, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

After seeing the absolutely abysmal build section that's on this site I'm going to miss the section that the original guildwiki had so much more.--72.68.109.112 18:20, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

We have a build section? o-O --SnogratUser Snograt signature.png 07:57, 5 May 2007 (EDT)
Yeh, Xeeron's Touch ranger and my Shock warrior :p — Skuld 08:04, 5 May 2007 (EDT)
So, is there going to be a directory where everyone can post their builds? So far I have been able to find 3 builds via this site and while they are all very organized, we are still lacking a directory. The God Universal 18:32, 17 May 2007 (EDT)
No. See the ongoing discussion taking place here. MisterPepe talk 18:50, 17 May 2007 (EDT)

Other Wiki Site[edit]

It is much safer to use this site because the servers are protected by the Guild Wars defenders, who have kept Guild Wars safe for as long as it has lasted. As for the other wiki site it contains spyware and malware, knowing that people would go there. Than 00:36, 20 May 2007 (EDT)

What does that have to do with builds? -- File:Blackgeneralstar.png (General | Talk) 00:37, 20 May 2007 (EDT)
More generally, what are you talking about? --Xeeron 08:22, 20 May 2007 (EDT)

New build site forked from GuildWiki[edit]

OK, just for the record and if someone missed it, the build directory that was previously at GuildWiki has now found an own home at http://www.pvxwiki.com/ -- Jonas N 21:39, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Gamependium[edit]

Worst site ever! Plx remove, for the love of god, and the starving children in Ethiopia. Readem Warning: Ignore this User if at all possible. 00:38, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

We have to leave it there, it has starburst warrior and a healing light wammo with mending is rated as a top build. Misfate 00:40, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Let's leave it, we can't lose! Readem Warning: Ignore this User if at all possible. 00:45, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
That site is worse than the old Guildwiki builds section. :/ --Edru viransu 01:39, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

I would like to see a Builds catagory that included the best builds for each skill line, ie. Mes/Illusion, Ele/Water, etc...instead of eight versions of a Barrager or Nuker. While I understand that some builds and classes are more popular or effective, I believe an effort could be made to include solid builds from every class and skill line, which in turn may help PuG's from being narrow-minded and cookie cutter. Since I started playing in GW:EN I have dropped my ele heros for mesmers and chewed through everything, but still cant get PuG's to drop the sf Nukers. If a builds catagory is to have any meaning, it needs to cover the basics with great examples of builds from all class skills.70.53.41.77 18:38, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Severen

Don´t do drugs!!!

PvXwiki[edit]

PvXwiki links to this Wiki on each skill from its builds to official wiki. It is big collection of the builds - why not? Gcardinal 07:26, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Please go see the talk page over at GWW:BUILDS Eloc 08:39, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah but there is no reason what so ever to limit information about external sources of builds, specially about the biggest one. What happens here is one thing - but limiting users from getting to know PvXwiki is another thing. Gcardinal 09:02, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Seems fine to me. It might look bad when it's you posting the link, as it may be taken for advertising, rather than a constuctive edit, but in this case I don't see a problem with it. Backsword 13:09, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
I feel it is obvious that we should mention PvXwiki here. Even if GWW and PvXwiki were competing on builds (which they are not, due to our builds policy), users should be free to choose and made aware of the wiki they prefer. Since PvXwiki offers a different service from this wiki (specialising in concrete builds, not describing more abstract concepts), the complementarity is even more clear. --Xeeron 14:06, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Why is PvX down right now? --Stokoe Talk 00:51, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Other build sites?[edit]

PvX has hostile policies when making builds encouraging edit wars and the like. Is there another website to post builds?--ShadowFog 12:05, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Hostile policies? Lol k. -Auron 12:12, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
I dont make monkeys, I trained them and a specific one has been trolling me around. Is there another website to post builds?--ShadowFog 12:28, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
I hear carebearpendium accepts horrible builds, perhaps you could try there? Misery 12:35, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Why do I get the notion I hit a soft spot?(laughs) Is there another website to post builds?--ShadowFog 13:01, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes, carebearpendium. Their top rated build is an R/A with daggers using Aura of Displacement, Lightning Reflexes, GPS, HotO, Golden Lotus Strike, Golden Fang Strike, Blades of Steel and Dodge. Best build that has ever been invented imo. The link used to be listed on this page, but the site was deemed so amazingly terrible that not even GWW would want to link there. Misery 13:29, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I lied, I read under wrong section, that is most recent, their top build is actually a ranger with a bow with Quick Shot, Troll Unguent, Needling Shot, Read the Wind Favourable Winds, Rezz Signet, Dshot, Savage Shot. Much better, I've misjudged them. Misery 13:32, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Your imagery website sounds terrible Noxify and yet you seem to know an awful(literally) lot. Is there another website to post builds?--ShadowFog 13:46, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
I don't know. Is there? PvX comes as the first hit for me, and I don't bother scrolling down past all the starburst warrior websites. -Auron 13:48, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Carebearpendium is a real website tbh... The link is in the history of the main article. Second best build is a starburst warrior with no IAS and Flame Djinn's Haste for IMS. Also, I'm not Noxify. Misery 13:49, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I used the name for a purpose. So you guys are really reading then: I can't find a good website. Is there another website to post builds? Not even a recommendation.--ShadowFog 13:55, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
There's PvX, and then there's the websites with bad builds in abundance. Check guru's builds section (campfire or something, dunno the name anymore) - they have em split into PvE and PvP then by profession. That one is still kind of bad (because the average Guru user is not an amazing player), but you can post a build and get feedback without getting it edited (like you would on PvX). Guru has gwbbcode, as do a few others, but it's probably the most active non-PvX website with builds.
You can store builds on gwshack.us, but nobody gives you feedback on it, it's just something to show to guildies/friends. -Auron 14:15, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Campfire is PvE builds, gladiator's arena is PvP builds. gwshack link. -Auron 14:21, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Carebearpendium, either these builds will be so bad they will make your eyes bleed or you belong there, enjoy! Misery 14:27, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
I think QQ forums has a build section too, that would be an interesting place to discuss builds. Misery 14:27, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

While I agree PvX is extremely hostile, it's the only place you can get accurate and decent builds. I suggest you go in, nab a build, and get the hell out and not talk to anyone. It's basically a website shoved with multiple Aurons, Shards, and Raptors.. with less finesse.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 14:52, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Your other option is to start trolling along with everyone else. Misery 15:00, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Misery. I'll check them out, I hope they aren't like gamependium, first place is a lame shot ranger. @User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard: Have you read their policies on making a build page? In short it says:"The community will **** you and your build. Don't like it? Then get the **** out!"--ShadowFog 19:47, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

So don't post your builds.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 20:52, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
tbh pvx is full of endless faggotry and 12yo pretty cool guys --Cancer Angel y so srs? 10:47, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
They only have one "great" build for Dervish in everything except the forgotten HB and it is the same, anything beyond that build gets nuked.--Wealedout 16:41, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

you can also ask yourself why did einstein try to dance around a pole with 37 cows in 1933, but there is no point in doing so.--SHIT 22:26, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
