Talk:CC
From Guild Wars Wiki
Who on earth refers to the Canthan Calendar as CC? Hell... who refers to it at all? -Auron Image:Elit Druin.jpg 15:33, 23 April 2007 (EDT)
- The Timeline uses it. *shrug* —

CC is Candy Cane, formally Corpse Control. The disambig is confusing and useless - I suggest simply redirecting to candy cane — Skuld 16:29, 23 April 2007 (EDT)
- I was thinking candy cane or charcoal when I saw this... --Rainith 17:14, 23 April 2007 (EDT)
- Mh, I still think of cc as corpse control... ~ dragon legacy 06:13, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
- Indeed, CC = also Corpse Control. I find the last edit comment of Auron really stupid (quote:"the stuff that nobody actually uses"). Not everyone plays PvE only. -- Image:Corrran.png (CoRrRan / talk) 06:56, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
- I PvP more than I PvE, just fyi. I don't hear the term anymore. I last heard it used pre-nightfall. -Auron Image:Elit Druin.jpg 04:41, 25 April 2007 (EDT)
- IWAY and thumpway and tombs with its Putrid Explosions and Well of the Profanes is long-gone. No need to use up corpses when the other team doesn't use them either. — Skuld 04:49, 25 April 2007 (EDT)
- Not the point. We're talking documentation, not metagame. ~ dragon legacy 06:09, 25 April 2007 (EDT)
- Yes, and no-one uses it. I don't see an arid chest page. — Skuld 06:21, 25 April 2007 (EDT)
- I've used CC so many times as "corpse control" and have seen it used so many times in that same meaning, that including it or not as a possible meaning in this article seems a silly argument. This is documenting valid and known abbreviations, not the HA/RA/TA/GvG/DoA/UW/FoW/ToPK/Drok's running/Charr farming/whatever meta. If "but I'm not seeing anyone spamming "GLF tainted with CC, 7/8"" is your logic, then we shouldn't have abbrev pages about KD/AS, IWAY, etc either. The abbreviation is valid and familiar to the average GuildWars player; whether the build it's describing is still popular or not doesn't really have much to do with it at all. --Dirigible 08:02, 25 April 2007 (EDT)
- Using corpses in builds isn't really used anymore, I agree, but you can bet on it, that someday a top100 guild will return who starts to use a minion master or death necro with putrid again (like Bring Back the Rifts did a few months ago after a long time of seeing no corpse exploits what so ever in GvG, and their build (if not prepared for it) wrecked havoc.) Usually when that happens, more people start using it and CC (Corpse control) becomes an issue again. So I say that it IS a PvP tactic and therefor should be documented. Oh and btw: what's an "arid chest"-page? -- Image:Corrran.png (CoRrRan / talk) 16:17, 25 April 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Change Character/Character Change
Anyone else use "CC" to tell others they are about to change characters? Or is that just my guild? I usually use it as such, "BRB cc"....no? Master Saji 16:07, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Never heard. But CC is also commonly used as "crowd control", especially in other MMO's. — Galil
