Skill update[edit]

This is just so insane, if you don't change this back I'll send you hatemails for months lolz, just joking but it's now worth to be an elite and I can no longer solo farm witmans folly with my ritualist thanks to this. So i beg you change this one back. --Cursed angel 19:48, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

I lol @ solo farm. You don't get any extra drop from solo runs. See Gaile News/20070420 Lightblade 19:54, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
I quote: "all of the following types of items will now be exempt from loot scaling:Skill Tomes, Scrolls, Dye, Rare materials, All rare (gold colored) items, All unique (green) items, Special event items." Perhaps Cursed Angel farms for gold runes in Witmans Folly, if they farm solo they get 8x more gold runes. Kthnxbai. Lyra Valo User Lyra Valo LVsig.jpg 19:58, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
there goes any chance of removing some of those unremovable enchantments. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.203.235.157 (talk) at 20:05, 2007 October 12 (UTC).
I got alot of stuff from there, the same as before they "reduced" the amount of stuff monsters could drop and made it depending on how many there is in the party, and tomes drop, there are also alot of gold items in hardmode. Acctually i haven't seen any differance at all but now I can't farm there anymore and that plain sucks, also this skill is just overpowered the way it is now. --Cursed angel 21:26, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Gold rewards for vanquishing foes in Hard Mode have been increased to five times the number of creatures killed. Does this really add 5 times as much gold, times each grawl i have killed?? Like if i have killed 5 grawls and then one grawl drop 100 gold, will the gold be 5 times 100 times 5 monsters? please answer...--Cursed angel 21:30, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
No, when you vanquish an area, it adds up 5 gold per kill. In your example, you killed 5 grawl, so you would get 25 gold. -- Luigi Luigi shodansig.jpg (T/C) 09:20, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
Throw another skill into the "completely useless" pile. --66.93.54.101 14:01, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
After two years, this unique skill needed to be changed why? I am sure this was intended to be an improvement, but that is certainly not how it turned out. --Wolf2581 (contribs · talk) 12:29, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, at least now it's two enchantments removed. A note to all dervish: beware of the Jokanur Diggings mission. You're pretty much guranteed to be completely stripped of enchantments now when there are multiple restless dead. Silavor UserSilavorSigIcon.png 13:17, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

How Selfish (Skill update)[edit]

Is this another way to buff your running build, Izzy?

If you're not going to change it back, then you may as well balance it in this form. Now that it can only remove one enchantment, it should only be 10 or 15 energy, even if it is AoE, because now it can't counter lone Shadow Form, VoS or Spell Breaker people. And reduce the casting time to 1, you may as well be nice if your going to go around ruining perfectly good skills. 71.179.85.164 00:00, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Shadow Form Gets another Buff... (Skill update)[edit]

Way to go Anet, take one of the few skills that was useful against a Shadowform sin and nerf it, do ya'll even play the game anymore, its no fun going up against people you can't attack no matter what you do.

Of course they're playing the game. They're the Shadow Form assassins. -_-; 71.179.85.164 07:03, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

The Strip[edit]

Does this skill preform the strip or the damage first? I am going to try and test this. If anybody already knows could you tell me? Merri Weathers 07:19, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Poison??[edit]

Whats the point of it causing you to become poisoned, chilblains as a meddical condtion has nothing to do with poison. It already cost 25 energy so why add even more cost to it... --->Pain 02:03, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Because it can single handedly hard counter enchant based gimmick teams should one ever creep back into the meta. Necromas 17:45, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
Ups. Ups. Chilblains just sucks. User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 19:33, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
Sorry I'm late a couple of months i was using the restroom, Chilblains is aoe and removes enchants reguardless of what they are like QQ shadow form bye now The Emmisary 00:58, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Fail when target is lost[edit]

Does this skill complete casting even if the original target dies? It's an expensive AoE spell, much like, say, Ice Spikes. Also, it completes casting even the target casts Shadow Form when Chilblains is in the middle of casting time (just happened to me). Jeree95 (talk) 16:32, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

Tested, casting doesn't complete if target dies during activation. Also poison does not trigger. Don't know about Shadow Form, should test on scarabs.--Ruine User Ruine Eternelle Ruine Eternelle.jpg Eternelle 17:28, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
I was running in Rhea's Crater alone and I had my SF stripped by an Outcast Deathhand right as it completed. Can't think of any other way than Chilblains ignoring SF if you start casting Cb before target is under SF. Jeree95 (talk) 13:47, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
Oh wait, I just realised there are also Assassins that use Dark Apostasy. Chilblains probly completed right before SF did and then the assassin stripped my SF, all in a split second. Just looked like it was all enchants at once. Jeree95 (talk) 13:48, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
