35 coins for a boss this annoying to get to? And here I thought they had given up on the bad jokes after the relatively balanced rewards since Rotscale.198.37.19.137 17:48, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Nope MrPaladin talk 17:50, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
From what ive seen its cause Anet want to try and make people visit otherwise dead outposts or something like that.truesimzy 18:27, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
If so, they've mostly failed on this one. By this time most other days, the nearest outpost to the boss in question has 3-4 districts. Check the Forgotten Lair or the Mouth of Torment. When I checked about 10 minutes ago, both had 1 district each, with only a few people going for the quest. The reward's just not worth the hassle of getting to the boss, it would probably need to be doubled to attract many casual players, as opposed to the hardcore zcoin grinders. Just my $0.02.198.37.19.137 18:35, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

While I can agree that the reward should be increased, especially when looking at how many points you got for completing G.O.L.E.M vs how many you get from completing this vs the effort... However, it's 1 day from 365 so there's plenty of chances to "farm" those zcoins (^_^) -- Nox Coma 18:42, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Rewards should be increased the farther the outpost and mission are. Most people have access to all outpost near port towns, but not everyone will have all last missions with all characters, nor the outposts in the middle. By the way, I found WAY harder to get to the boss than the boss himself, but that was only because I brought a minion master and Pain Inverter. He killed himself with one spell he cast upon the minions. It took me 15 minutes to get to the boss, and 15 seconds minute to kill him. And I think not much people wnt this time because those that have access to that boss would probably rather be in the torment earning real stuff or making other things that may give 70 or 200 coins than getting 35 puny coins that barely count towards the 7500 a heavy bag needs.MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 20:24, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
My guess is that each boss is assigned a reward based on their location, not by anybody's evaluation of the difficulty to kill, or their perception of how difficult they are to reach. And the formula for this boss, being a Nightfall boss in the Desolation, says that he's worth 35 Zaishen Coins. (Personally, I don't think it's worth 35 coins to do this quest, so I will pass, but that's just my opinion.) 171.71.91.88 23:12, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
It seems that the pattern is something like this:
End boss for elite area (only one to date is Kanaxai): 175 coins
Dungeon boss or mid-boss of an elite area (i.e. Stygian Lords): 105 coins
Not in another category, in Prophecies, Factions, or Nightfall: 35 coins
Not in another category, in EotN: 70 coins (Except Fenrir, who for some reason was 35 coins)
Except for Fenrir, it fits. Fenrir, however, makes me think I'm missing something obvious...198.37.19.137 00:00, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Or I could have completely forgotten about Rotscale. Well, that's just more proof that I'm wrong.198.37.19.137 00:09, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Okay[edit]

This boss isn't hard to get too, get a team of 2 humans and 6 heroes, just run to it through the ruptured heart, and voila, he's at the entrance!--DAVAUser Dav Tick green.png 07:21, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]

What do you mean "given out a second time"? The zquest archive only shows it being given out once on 8 May 2009 (so not in June). --User Brains12 circle sig.png Brains12 \ talk 23:43, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

The servers seems to have been rolled back somehow after the update. Here's a screen if proof is required:

Yeah, sorry about that - I figured it out in the end. I wasn't expecting them to change the time of the zquest update. --User Brains12 circle sig.png Brains12 \ talk 00:21, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Ha, it's cool. You're not alone-- it's still considered "weird" by my standards. ;P -Lena™ User Lena Sig.png talk 00:31, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Concvienent Placing[edit]

Is it just me or is this boss right near Nicholas...convienent placing A-Net, its rly a good idea. I think theyre hinting go to nicholas with this quest :P. Ϛγκ 16:20, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Not Worth The Effort[edit]

Even at 70 coins in HM, to me it's not worth the time or effort involved. (That's my tuppence) – josəph 16:26, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

It's twice as worthwhile as before, at least ;) Just my four pence. As mentioned above, since he's right by Ruptured Heart, it's easy to flag H/H safe and run to the portal to get everyone there, from either outpost... (obvious to everyone else, I suppose). 72.38.32.223 01:18, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
(yeah I'm late) - if you rush then its 7 mins / 70 copper coins, its a pretty good rate for a quest to have 10c/minute. -Chieftain Alex 14:27, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

Easier Path[edit]

Leave from the Mouth of Torment and travel through the Ruptured Heart.

Horrible Walk through[edit]

I remember when vanquishing here I definitely killed the group before him. I think I just hit him with EVAS and BHA and took out the rest before refocusing on him. Is a suicide tactic really the best option here we can list as a walk through?

LB points[edit]

I think the 100 Light Bringer points is definitely worth this zb.66.47.27.36 18:25, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]

"first Zaishen Bounty to be given out a fourth time" Why is this relevant? Today it would be changed again to fifth? Why not just say: "first of the Zaishen Bounties" 173.20.25.191 03:00, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

It wasn't the first bounty. The cycle was reset on 11 June 2009.
When originally added, the factoid was more interesting because we weren't sure how often the cycle would reset (it's still possible, particular due to various official suggestions, that they will update the list at some point). I'd be okay with removing it at this point. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 03:11, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
