Evaluation[edit]

Dunham has a self heal with Drain, editet it out of Cons list Mitchel 15:46, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Updated evaluation[edit]

Since each individual skill had its own update, his build shall reflect a new performance.

Comparison notes:

Pros:

  • Re-worded Empathy note.
  • Shatter Hex energy cost was reduced from 15 to 10 since its last update.
  • Re-worded Interrupts note.
  • Ether Feast "IS" a strong self-heal, not just relative.

Cons:

  • Re-worded Imagined Burden, it has 30 sec to recharge, so its not as spammable as suggested.
  • Mesmers are known for hexes, the unconditional damage though there are its unfair to point.

\\ Probably won't matter as much so late into the years, but figured it'd make sense to (re?)add the note about lacking unconditional damage as a con for Dunham since Mesmers have shifted to this perceived role of 'best caster armor-ignoring damage' with their latest changes years ago. -Kiega123456789ooo (talk) 08:55, 29 December 2017 (UTC)

The thing to appreciate is that the only core/prophecies non-elite domination skill to deal "unconditional" damage is energy burn and that isn't technically unconditional but it is as close as you can get. Also empathy is pretty much guaranteed damage in pve as all relevant mobs, for Dunham, attack. I will leave the note though as it's technically accurate and nobody cares anyhow anymore. "He is most enemy spellcasters' #1 target, and he dies fairly quickly."[edit]

Where is this based upon? BlazeRick 21:15, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Also, that intro of the Evaluation is very suggestive imo. Dunham does his job well enough, and Alesia is even more targeted than Dunham. And about him being less effective than other henchman; Empathy alone makes him more effective than most other henchmen. BlazeRick 21:18, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
I removed the intro, and I shortened the pros and cons some. Some things were not needed. The talk about Distortion; any hench can get swarmed, let it be Dunham or Little Thom. Shortened the pro's about hexes. Removed the note about draining enemy spellcaster's energy, because no-one should do that in PvE, because it is impossible and there is no point to it. Removed the last two notes, because I found them to be suggestive and not neccesary. BlazeRick 07:31, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

His Name[edit]

Anyone else think of Jeff-fah-fuh Done-Hamwhen you see this guy? Weaponmaster 05:07, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Nope. Nothing about Dunham (the henchman) suggests ventriloquism or comedy. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 05:28, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
He does remind me of him, though. Perhaps in a broader sense a Mesmer's ability to create illusions, because a ventriloquist more or less creates the illusion of a talking puppet. Possibly far-fetched, but yes to the question if more people are reminded of Jeff Dunham, Peanut and the gang when seeing this Mesmer! -- User Elveh sig.png Elv 15:17, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Dunham's Hard Mode skills[edit]

Not sure if the note "in hard mode he'll have both Imagined Burden and Crippling Anguish" should have been removed. Dunham is available as a level 20 hero from Droknar's Forge onwards, and that includes Normal Mode. It is very well possible that he only has Crippling Anguish as a level 20 character in Normal Mode and doesn't have Imagined Burden- according to the wiki article, he has that skill "below level 20" (suggesting that at level 20 he no longer has it). That would mean that a note saying he has both skills in Hard Mode is a perfectly reasonable addition to the article. I'll check his skill usage and see what I can find out. Maybe a separate skill list for his Hard Mode skill bar would be best. -- User Elveh sig.png Elv 12:00, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Yep. Should be checked if possible. I agree with the revert simply because there seems to be a pattern of sorts for the Proph henchies where they get an elite replacement for one of their skills. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 06:47, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
I'll see if I can't get some notes on the skill usage of the other heroes as well, then. :) -- User Elveh sig.png Elv 11:19, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Inactive emotes[edit]

im not sure if it would be considered a glitch or anomaly, but i went afk for a while wen i had him in my party and wen i came back he was doing the male warrior dance even tho he's a mesmer... has this happened to any1 else b4? or is it just me? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.122.44.59 (talk).

It's intended. Note added. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 06:08, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Shouldn't it be reworded to note that he uses the Warrior model, thus he uses the Warrior dance, casting animation, etc? I can't think of a way to reword the current note without it sounding awkward. Vili >8< User talk:Vili 09:49, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Better now? -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 19:00, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Perfect. There's plenty other heroes/hench that have a similar thing so I'll just word it similarly, if I ever get around to that. ;) Vili >8< User talk:Vili 22:45, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Nine skills?[edit]

We have nine skills for him listed... I can't check to see what he does/doesn't have right now, could someone else? calor (talk) 15:25, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Scratch that, I just read the parentheses about below level 20 vs. at level 20. calor (talk) 15:26, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Dual Class (Mesmer/Monk)[edit]

Anyway possible Dunham can be a Me/Mo with a real monk resurrection rather than signet? At least for Hard Mode. Also if they could fix his fast casting attributes would be awesome because he's slow at it. It would be nice to have all these henchies dual class in hard mode.

Leaver[edit]

Sometimes when you have him in the party in an outpost or an explorable area and you travel to a place where he can be added as a henchman he will leave your party...is this a bug or what?Example i am in Divinity Coast(outpost) and i add him, travel to Lion's Arch and i get a message that says 'Dunham[Enchanter Henchman] has left the party',even though i can add him again in Lion's Arch.95.180.76.188 14:01, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Oh and yeah to add this doesn't happen to Orion and any other henchie as far as i know and party sizes in Divinity Coast and Lion's Arch are the same(6) so that is not the reason...95.180.76.188 14:03, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

This happens with any henchman. The henchmen of each outpost vary a bit in level or attributes. If a henchman leaves, it's because the one available in that outpost is slightly different than the one you have. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 14:49, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
As i said it doesn't happen with Orion and he has lvl 12 in Divinity Coast and lvl 10 in Lion's Arch.with Dunham it happens whenever changing outposts on which he has different levels(just tried it with Gates of kryta and Lion's Arch he dosn't leave from there because he is lvl 10 in both outposts). This thing happens with Claude and Little Thom too but the other henches work fine...95.180.76.188 12:46, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
I completely agree. I was traveling with all henchies and Dunham and Claude left the party EVERY TIME I went to an outpost with them in it... Someone should put in a bug note about it. 68.59.126.206 02:39, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Imagined Burden[edit]

Checking wich skills he uses at lower levels i noticed that he never used Imagined Burden not even against warriors wich makes me doubt if he really has the skill. I would like to know if anyone else here has ever noticed him using the skill and can verify if he has it or not. Da Mystic Reaper 22:06, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
