Togo's Story[edit]

Wow, Togo's Story isn't too bad, once you figure out that he has a PB-AOE that's just pure PWNAGE. Pretty much, get everyone in range, fire it off, and boom, they all fall down. The mission is just small waves of enemies after another. One of them, you're straight-up surrounded by maybe three groups of 12+ Guards each, and so you're only choice is to wait until Talon dies, they all gather around you, and you fire it off, killing them all at once. Otherwise, the out-of-range 3rd group kills you. Smaller groups, like pairs of Guards, you can just smack around with your Channeling spells. Bosses need both Disenchant, the triple-spirit, and Nuke to take down. If Talon doesn't attack right away, wand the enemy/boss or step closer, and it should make him wake up. --BarGamer 04:43, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Turai's Story[edit]

THIS... IS... ELONA!!!!

...my apologies, but it had to be said. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 04:48, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

THIS... IS... SPARTA!!!!

...sry had to say that otherwise I'd go crazy :P. MageMontu 14:34, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Even better: THIS... IS... KOURNA!!!!

...since Kourna is to Elona what Sparta is to Greece :P. And YES, I have taken the name Leonidas of Kourna for my war xD. Paddymew 16:29, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Translation bug[edit]

There is a translation bug in the text shown when you want to trade in your discoveries for extra authorized copies.

In english it is (e.g.) 2 authorized copies of "Turai's Story" In german it is 0 autorisierte Exemplare von "Turais Geschichte" meaning 0 authorized copies! But he still offers the trade-in, so it is only a text bug.91.96.59.234 02:49, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Question[edit]

What does he say to people who don't have the bonus mission pack ?

Rewards[edit]

Is this the guy that gives the weapon rewards for the discoveries? I have been looking to see what the rewards were, but I can not seem to find them. As I do not have the BMP or know anyone that does, I was just wanting to see what the rewards were. 68.104.205.160 20:37, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

He gives you Authorized copies of the Stories you use to get into the missions; you trade those in to other NPCs for the rewards. The reward NPCs are Archivist of Whispers (Turai's Story), Tuomas (Gwen's Story), Diane (Saul's Story), and Akemi (Togo's Story). --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 23:47, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Audio NPC's[edit]

Maybe we should start a section/category with NPCs that actually talk. Like this guy, he says. "Here my tale." or "Let me tell yous a story." or "Here my story" Etc. 75.84.247.16 10:13, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

"I have made some discoveries"[edit]

Under the above option, it states, "I can offer the following rewards for you or for someone else on your account." For someone else on your account, how exactly? Every story we trade in for a weapon is all customized. 220.255.2.168 19:13, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Discovery rewards...[edit]

So, I do a mission once, and get an authorised story. Cool. Then I do it again, and get a discovery. Do I then get two authorised stories (one for completing the mission, one for the discovery)? And how do I claim an authorised story "for anyone else on your account"? Cynique 11:38, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

You get the authorized book the same way, I do recall, and yes, 2 for the second time going through and then the discovering. Konig/talk 17:33, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
So how does the "for anyone else on your account" part work? Isn't the authorised story customised? Cynique 06:35, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
Talk to Durmand with any character to get the discovery-book. Once you get it on a character, you cannot change it. Konig/talk 18:47, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
So, the character who makes the discovery gets the authorised story for completing the mission (well, duh, he just completed it, so it should be him who gets the book), and then anyone on the account - even the discoverer - can just speak to Durmand to get an authorised story for the discovery? Do I have it right? If the discoverer wants the discovery-book, he needs to speak to Durmand twice, once for the completion-book, and once for the discovery-book? (I ask this because there is no dialogue given for the discovery-book conversation...) Cynique 08:42, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
Its been a while since I did the discovery. If I recall correctly it's either that - and the first time authorizes the unauthorized book - or there's a dialogue option missing on this page which should be under "I am ready to get my story authorized." or its a brand new option. Just talk to him, if there's a new option there you go (and if there's a new option then please add it!), if not then you just click the one for the book you just did. Konig/talk 09:15, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
I've filled in about as much as I could be bothered to do. I didn't list all the discoveries possible but someone else can just copy and past them from the Discovery Mode article, they are written the same way in Durmand's list as they are when you complete them in the mission (eg You explored the locations Togo would have searched to clear Minister Wona's Estate of assassins.) etc. I think I also got formatting wrong with quotation marks with the list, so someone can mess around with that, otherwise it's all there. Obviously if you have no discoveries (or you've used up some of them) the number of authorised copies he will offer to give you will be less. He just lists the number you have left, I assumed there were only four discoveries per mission, if there are more just fix it, I'm lazy I know. 122.111.184.90 11:47, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, that makes it all make a lot more sense. Cynique 11:49, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
I don't have his confirm dialogue for using a discovery for a book, I don't want to blow one of my freebies just to fill out the page so that should be the only thing missing now. That and the dialogue for a person who has made no discoveries or used up all of their discoveries. 122.111.184.90 12:07, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Is Durmand the only NPC in the game with a voice response when clicking on him?[edit]

Guild Wars 1 is mostly a voiceless game apart from the cinematics... --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 218.186.18.237 (talk) at 19:10, 20 December 2013‎ (UTC).

No. See (hear?) for example Kilroy Stonekin and other dwarves in the GW:EN zones. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cynique (talk) at 04:19, 21 December 2013‎ (UTC).
You get voice responses from the norn bounty npcs, certainly norn merchants, and at least a few of the traders in the eotn outpost. (I too had not listened to them until recently since I barely ever play with the gw sounds on, and usually had the dialogue muted.) -Chieftain Alex 09:11, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
I think there are voice responses from all EotN bounty NPCs (except Beacon of Droknar) and all NPCs in EotN outposts. All of the voice responses from those NPCs are listed in the Voice responses sections of Asura, Deldrimor, Ebon Vanguard, and Norn. Durmand might be the only or one of the few NPCs not in an EotN area that has voice responses. --Silver Edge 07:55, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
Actually the main oddity in EOTN is that Kilroy has at least two different voices, depending on whether you find him in an outpost or in an explorable area or dungeon... Cynique (talk) 09:26, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
