Ebon Banguard Assassins + Spirits of Restoration = Permanent Spawn

I found that when the assassins died and was rez by spirit of restoration, he remain forever untill he's killed.

Bug?

Are these supposed to die in 1 hit? I even took it to ascalon and if anything attacked it it would die instantly. Eric368 05:11, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Stats

At level 10, they do 23 damage with Iron Palm and get 2 Energy per critical hit, indicating 6 Deadly Arts and 8-12 Critical Strikes. -- Gordon Ecker 10:27, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Level 20, the energy gained by critical strike is offenly of 3, but not always, it sometimes is 2... lussh 13:07, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

At level 20, it has at least 14 in crit strikes since attacking the student of weakness on the isles still gives him +3 energy even if weakened. --SkyHiRider 12:12, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Signet of Illusions

With 12 points in Illusion, the Ebon Assassin is level 18. I'm not quite sure how the points line up, since I know they aren't one for one in the other title tracks, but thought this info would be handy for someone. Also, Arcane Echo and Echo can be used with this to spawn 3 short term assassins, but its more gimmick than useful. Quite funny though! -- Flask of Firewater.png Ale 20:40, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Sounds like a bug with the HP; it probably has no health, so the next time anything touches it, the game re-checks and says "oh wait, he's dead". Could be a glitch from the sneak peek; you couldn't get to rank 1 in Ebon Vanguard, so they might have left out some data, which had side-effects on some of the scaling skills. -- Jioruji Derako.> 02:08, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Progression Table using SoI

I hope they don't nerf SoI... I had lots of fun using that elite with this skill. Anyway. I managed to do a progression table for the Assassin's level. Here it is:

Even though the highest rank is 10, I tested him with illusion magic 15... he spawned as a level 20 assassin... level 21 at rank 16. I didn't add these results to the main page because of this. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Terra Xin .

I think we should still use the tooltip progression in the infobox and include any irregularities in the notes section. I don't think the highest rank for any of the Eye of the North reputation titles is confirmed. -- Gordon Ecker 11:17, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Assassin's Promise

Non-exploitable corpse?

It may have something to do with his lifespan. If he's killed prematurely, his corpse is exploitable until the spell duration is up. That would make sense to me, I suppose. So like, if he lives for 10 seconds, but is killed before 3 seconds are up, you'd have 7 seconds to use the corpse. RitualDoll 19:36, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Worth having?

Eh, posted this on the wrong wiki so I'll report on the OFFICIAL one :P

Worth it if only for the fact that he iron palms right off the bat. It's like a slightly more conditional gale without the exhaustion and a whole lot of follow up damage. It also provides a good "decoy" if you need it, and can be echoed to devastate enemy lines. AoE hex or conditions then spam them out on different targets. I've actually enjoyed this skill. As stated above, foes will use their initial spells blasting the disposable assassin. As a warrior, it's nice when they use their snare on the ebon support rather than myself as I charge in. Also, since all the skill attacks ignore blocking, it's a good way to hit with some damage against foes with blocking skills. --Thervold 17:22, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

I treat it like a minion, if it dies, it soaked up damage, and more importantly, sometimes a hex. SystemisFlawed

BHA + This = Good Synergy. Hit with BHA and then summon the Sin, and he gets his knockdown, and then continues to keep the target (spellcaster) pinned thanks to the Sin's decent attack speed =D --Srakin 07:46, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Also Excellent synergy with Pain Inverter - give the enemies something to hit, then punish them for hitting him :^D. He can take down most spellcasting foes in nm on his own with pain inverter to help him.--Son of Batman 14:11, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
This skill is only underpowered compared to Ursan Blessing and Pain Inverter. The first one created teams that could clear UW in less than an hour, the second one can kill end-bosses of campaigns in a singe use. So guess how powerful this one is...145.94.74.23 13:01, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

SoI & Illusion Magic Progression

Is it possible to add a Progression table for use with the Signet of Illusions to this page? Particularly for high values of the Illusion Magic (16+). I came here looking for exactly that but couldn't find anything beyond the normal maximum for the title track. The table under SoI just shows a comparision with the title track, and therefore has about half the possible values missing.--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:91.84.121.119 (talk).

Protable?

are we able to prot these summonts? want to know for the ooze pit. i think if i send this into the middle of the volatiles the blow up killing off my highly dispensible summon without hitting my stupid heroes. (prots to keep him alive ubtil ALL oozes explode).

I tend to heal mine when I'm bored, lol, so yes. He counts as an ally, just like minions and pets. Chao 04:38, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Necro Synergy

With 14 curses, barbs, and weaken armor on the target, the assassin was able to do 600 damage to the master of damage at only rank 3.

AI (or lack thereof)

The assassin doesn't seem to listen to called targets, and if there is an enemy adjacent to the target I cast it on, the assassin more often than not will attack the adjacent enemy instead. Perhaps it just attacks whatever is closest, and when there is an enemy adjacent to your target it has a good chance of being closer to that enemy since it doesn't spawn right on top of your target.

Since it's an ally and not a party member, it shouldn't respond to called targets anyway. I have also noticed how sometimes the assassin won't finish his combo on whatever I cast it to - he'll do Iron Palm and maybe Fox Fangs, then autoattack a bit and later consider using Nine Tail Strike, though by then he/the target is usually dead. :\ Vili User talk:Vili 07:11, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Question

Is his Health influenced by Spawning Power?

At the Spawning Power comments page, it's mentioned it affects Asura summons, but not the Ebon Vanguard Assassin summon. Which seems unfortunate! Speaking of it, I wonder if the Assassin's death triggers Soul Reaping +Energy to necros (I don't have one to test).--Sensei 13:33, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Synergy with Glyph of Immolation?

Please someone test and check if this works? Cast GoI. Cast EVAS. Foe burns. Foe gets KD(Iron Palm) because of burning condition.

This should count as synergy because you get a sure KD in one spell, since you can cast GoI outside aggro range and then EVAS to poke(you get the KD on the very first move that aggroes).

Maximum Number of These in an area?

I use assassins promise with mindbender and this skill... When farming charr carvings against low lvl charr, I pretty much spam this and sin's promise, but I never seem to see more than 4 of therse guys around at once. Is this a maximum, or just me being a bit blind? I have bee nwatching the numbers when normally playing and have never seen more than four, but it's kinda hard to keep an eye on them most of the time, while casting as fast as possible to make more...--Son of Batman 19:40, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Keeps fighting

Today while i was working on some HM hero handbooks i cast Ebon sin on an incubus, when the incubus rose up into the ceiling Ebon sin kept fighting, dealing damage, and eventually killed it before it could come down. Anyone else getting this?--Lord randy taylor 18:46, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Yeah - he won't give up the little terrier that he is. The same sort of thing happ0ens when you use him on Kuunavang in the whirpool mission - he springs into mid air and just keeps going. I think we should note it. I suggest:
  • The Assassin constantly attacks the spell's target until one of them dies. It even follows and keeps targeting enemies that move out of play, such as the Stormcloud Incubus and Kuunavang.
The only reason I don't put it in now: I wonder if it attacks wurms that burrow underground? Does anyone know? | 72 User 72 Truly Random.jpg | 01:39, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Damage Type

Has it been confirmed that the EVAS is doing phyiscal damage with it's attacks? I assume so but I'm not certain. Pucktrapper 15:01, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

I have used him on my necro with barbs and Mark of Pain before and they seemed to trigger, but the area was kind of swarming with minions at the time... I would say yes though, just on the basis that he holds daggers... I am pretty sure he does do physical damage cos I remember thinking that those two hexes might be listed as having good synergy - additional power and KD, but I didn't stay using it for long so I never bothered.--Son of Batman 19:20, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Just checked and yes, he does do physical damage, and also glyph of immolation does have good synergy - enables a kd straightaway with one cast at the point of delivery. Whether it is worth using of course is another matter--Son of Batman 19:26, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
