concise description[edit]

doesn't say foe but it should be understood lolKosmic 11:12, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

It would be an interesting self-heal, though. However, considering that you can already replicate that level of effectiveness, I guess it's a moot point. Vili User talk:Vili 11:15, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
Orison caps out around what? 60? Take the green number on this skills description and multiply it by the energy drained, usually three. This heals for more than orison unless you're unfortunate enough to target an enemy with 9 energy. 173.67.9.113 06:54, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Spell. Cause 3 Energy loss. You gain 20...44...50 Health for each point of Energy lost. If Ether Feast made you lose 3 energy and gain 20...44...50 health for each point of energy lost, its healing effectiveness would be around Orison's. Or in other words, pretty much crap. Vili User talk:Vili 06:56, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
It says, "Cause 3 Energy loss", not "Lose 3 Energy". If it made you lose energy, it'd be an anomaly; I think all other skills that cause you to lose energy say it like that. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 08:25, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
The whole point was that it does not specify that the foe loses energy, so if you had never used Ether Feast before you may be confused. Then I made some conjectures about the theoretical "what-if", in the case that Ether Feast actually did target yourself it would be interesting but ineffective etc etc. Vili User talk:Vili 08:28, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
I think all skills should be allowed to target foes/allies. If your monk's not saving you and you're degening to death after you killed the last foe, Ether Feast them. Or heck, even lifesteal somebody. That would also put some kind of common sense requirement into AoE (no, I don't want PBAoE to kill the caster). I can think of a few cases where you'd want to use a certain hostile skill on an ally, or certain friendly skill on a foe. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 08:47, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Griefers the world over would rejoice. -_- Vili User talk:Vili 08:48, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
There's a system that could be made to cover that. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 08:54, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
"I swear it was an accident, I was c-spacing and I didn't see it was my Monk and not the enemy priest!" "...and then Master Togo caused a wipe by casting Spirit Rift on me!" Yeah, that would be a load of fun for the support team to figure out. The dishonorable system is full of fail, anyway. Vili User talk:Vili 09:11, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
"You gain 1 point of Dishonor if you caused more damage to your team than to the enemy team in a match. You gain 1 point of Dishonor if you healed the enemy team more than your team in a match. You gain an additional 1 point of Dishonor for each point of Dishonor you have gained in this way." "Report: blowing up teammates. Fails if target ally has not dealt more than 33% of another ally's max health in damage." Then fix AI, because it's currently lacking in the "I" department.
In retrospect, some spells shouldn't be able to target allies. Aneurysm on monks would be bad. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 09:44, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

You sure you don't want another elite?
I don't know about PvP, but this skill is monstrous with SoI in Pve now. ~0.5 second cast, ~5 second recharge and 200+ hp heals. It lets my mesmer farm almost anywhere, even with -10 degen and no other heals. Good fun. (You don't need SoI for it actually, but I just happen to have started using it along with SoI)K2K 11:57, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

life attunement will increase the heal of this starting at the base amount or explained by numbers: (50 + 50% = 75) * 3 = 225 which is what is listed for me as i had some bonder hero take care of my melee needs. 96.13.96.190 22:48, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
