where is a good place to farm? (for an assassin) --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:216.160.225.84 .
- I heard that Tyria and Elona are really good places to farm. (In other words, have a look at one of the elite fansite forums.) --

[edit] Methods of farming
Is this whole section really needed? Especially the part on bots seems very.. odd to me. I don't know too much about farming, but I don't feel this section would help me either. I'd rather have specific farming guides on specific areas and just a short description on what farming is here. And links to more specific farming areas, like faction farming. - anja

Look at fansites for farming guides.
This section would be much better dedicated to the effects on drop rate, drop rates when playing with heros/henchies/solo.
Maybe also add "notorious" farming locations like trolls, minos, hydras, 2 man UW, 5 man FOW, and B/P (Although I assume BP is dead in tombs now)
[edit] Bot Farming
.....Should we really tell people that bots are out there? I mean...it's against the policies...We shouldn't tell them about it...should we? Vengeance Signet 06:30, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- It's not like it is some big secret. Everyone knows about it. Could mention that is against the ULA and a bannable offense. Kairu 03:11, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Possibly a candidate for deletion
I agree with the above couple of people - no offence to the writer but this article is not well written nor actually very useful. I just deleted some comments which are not helpful eg "noob farming" and the section on botting - there is NO reason to discuss botting unless it is to suggest people to report bots. To be honest, i think the whole section needs to be either:
a) simplified, just to explain what the concept of farming is as people new to the game and the concept may wonder what the word means; b) very much improved so that it is useful (tbh there are great guides elsewhere already) c) deleted alltogether. Gawa 15:53, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Added a warning
I added a drop quality warning. Though the triggers are unknown (what decreases and raises drop quality) this no doubt exists, as many farmers can witness. This should discourage users from looking into farming via bots, and even farming in general, since ANET doesn't seem to approve of it (thats why Hard Mode was created)
- Farming is used by almost everyone to come degree. And even HM has anti farming codes in effect. Went through the First City in Elona and got some nice drops the first run, bugger all the second, nothing gold or purple the third and that was in HM. I also noticed a cross account effect where all my drops were greatly decreased (getting little to nothing clearer entire areas with a party in NM and HM. I personally think the UW and hard areas like that should have a higher anti farming threshold than say something like the First City as the loot drops are far superior (ectos and the likes) but HM map areas shouldn't be hit so hard as there are a lot of casual farmers out there that use HM to raise cash. I mean how are we supposed to buy the fancy armour, mini pets and Destroyer weapons for our bloody hall of monuments if we don't get the money together?
--Back pre-factions, when I was farming Nolani Academy for minor runes, I got an in-game notification (Blue box w/ instructions. ex. 'how to equip skills') confirming the existance of this loot degradation.
---I could be mistaken, but I believe that Missions are subject to no or less degredation, also I think that farming in a group nullifies it, since group members have farmed an area in varying degrees.Once Great King 22:44, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Anti-Farming code
Does this code decrease drop rates on the character or account basis? I use a 105/55 monk to farm in Elona and have noticed that most of my characters in any of the three campaigns are only getting blue or white drops, very rarely do that get any purples. I was wondering because I monk farm certain areas if ANET brands you whole account. Also, does anyone know of the cycle of the anti-farming code as my monk is purely my only source of viable income as going around with a party of 8 rarely provide much in the way of viable gold sources or loot sources.
[edit] Needed
A section on EoTN Reputation farming is needed. So are links to the farming guides. Particularly since they're not under a title that is likely to be immediately obvious to most users (ie, they cannot guess the page name). -- Sabardeyn 11:03, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Pre-searing farming
It seems as if enemies in Pre-searing drop more dyes than they do in Post-searing, or is this just coincidence? --Horsedrowner 05:52, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure they do drop the more often in Pre-Searing than anywhere else. I think there's a guide for this on guildwiki somewhere on how to go about farming them. — ク Eloc 貢 15:19, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- I tend to disagree wit the above statements, why would ANET make dyes drop in one area more than others? I read somewhere that the odds of a dye dropping in pre, are the same as anywhere in post, it's just the fact that the enemies are much easier to kill, therefor it is faster to go back over and over to keep killing them, thus "Farming". --Stokoe

[edit] Reset
Is there any known data on how to "Reset" the anti-farming code, or is it in place in the area on a timer? I'm somewhat trying to get obby armor, this thing kinda gets in mah way xP 83.109.78.120 12:02, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Shouldn't there be a page with a list of farming builds? Bisurge 06:55, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Anti-Freaking-Farm Code
All I can say is OMG... I been looking all around the internet and nobody in the world seem to know what the hell is triggering the damn f*cking farm code. It's driving me crazy and I really feel like killing someone right now. This code exist for...how much time?...like a year now... and nobody seem to know what the hell triggers it or how to get rid of it. Do people keep that information for themselves? Are they too lazy to test it? Or is it really THHHISSSS tough to figure it out? This is...like... the only one thing in the world that I have ever REALLYY searched for in wiki to get informatiom and the only thing I never got answer about! This is just soooo annoying!!! I can talk about this whole day...omgomgomg give me answers or just shoot me already....
- If you want to learn how the game works, go find it out yourself, you're making yourself into a burden :P --Stokoe
