nice list of bug fixes. --Life Infusion «T» 19:50, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Ilsundur, Lord of Fire[edit]

They made him easier? About time tbh, he was a #$%#!!. Shame I don't ever need to face this guy again. --SK 19:55, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

I think the hard part is the fire bombs killing your weapons (rangers/dervishes/assassins/paragons/warriors) not so much his HP regen. Removing his regen helps though. --Life Infusion «T» 20:15, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
He wiped my party and I killed him too. Everything happened in 3 minutes. Is he hard? Not really. Lightblade 20:21, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
His health seemed to have changed - once pain inverter killed him in three secs. when i made the dungeon, i had to resign as his health semmed to be very huge. i'm really happy about the update...was frustrating to returnt to the outpost after spending over three hours for the dungeon for nothing. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 21:27, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Made him easier? He was already a total joke because didn't even have bonus hp. Don't tell me you were down in the catacombs without fire protection or that you can't run out of AoE. --Ckal Ktak 14:24, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm really getting irritated with everyone always claiming the game is so $(*%^%#! easy. They made hard mode for you guys. Stay in it, and let's hope that A.net will make normal mode REALLY normal mode so the game can be played and be fun again. EotN is so depressing -- its normal mode is like elsewhere's hard mode for average casual players (like me). --71.240.80.160 14:59, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
In this case, I'd disagree on the grounds that it is many times harder to actally get through the catacombs to get to illsundr than it is to fight him. If they wanted to make that whole dungeon easier, they'd have gone easier on the flowstone eles and burning spirits. --Ckal Ktak 08:55, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
About consistency with other Dungeon Boss encounters: Magmus regenerates... Zophar 22:30, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Disconnect?[edit]

Was ABing with some guildies and we all got booted out of the game a few minutes after the update hit. Did something break rilly gud? --fraught · (talk) 20:06, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

All pvp is discontinued on the outdated client when an update is issued. --Lou-SaydusHow dare you put that damned dirty thing on me! 23:37, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Extremely annoying that they won't let you finish the game first and then simply refuse you to start a new one without restarting the game.... — Galil Talk page 00:45, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Not all PvP, only the PvP affected by the update. Which in this case was AB. BlazeRick 19:35, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I wasn't entirely clear. We got the new build message. We finished our match, closed the client, got the update and then got together and entered a new match. During this match we all got booted out. We figured there had been a critical bug or something so everyone was forced out of the game (or just ABs) while they fixed it. --fraught · (talk) 06:07, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
hmmm I was doing RA and after the match the new build message came and it wouldn't let me finish the game... are you sure AB was only where the update happened?--The Forsaken One 16:31, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Nope, all I know was that I was in AB when the update hit. --fraught · (talk) 08:58, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

AB[edit]

"The Luxon siege turtles will no longer target spirits, minions, or pets when choosing enemy targets." I don't play PvP, but I can guess why this was done. I'm wondering if this was the most elegant solution, as opposed to making them target these things last, if nothing else is in range? --136.142.163.55 20:10, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

I think it was done to prevent the turtles from being stuck outside the fort the entire match. Kurzicks can put spirits at the top/front of the fort and the turtle will attack it. As long as they keep putting up the spirit, the turtle will keep attacking it. I think its an okay solution to the problem. We'll see though.. - Marisa 20:17, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Not only that, but a well positioned spirit will make the turtle's projectile attack get blocked by Fort Aspenwood's wall. The spirit won't die at all, and the turtle just get stuck in there. A REALLY well positioned spirit can keep both turtles stuck outside. Lightblade 21:15, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Crazy[edit]

After thsi updat me and my guildies had crazy problems. One just dissapeared and reapeared every do often, I couldnt identify items for like 10mins after the update. and my other guildies screen view screwed up and was stuck in one place for like 5-10mins. --Shadowphoenix User-Shadowphoenix Shadow Phoenix Signet.jpg 20:38, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

that sounds awesome --Cursed Angel talk 20:43, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Sounds to me like you just encountered the final boss of your computer... you're using norton, right? Also: I couldn't understand anything me thinks I need glasses or something, wth --User rayd sig.pngRayd 22:38, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I use norton but i dont see what that has to do with anything if it wasnt only me. --Shadowphoenix User-Shadowphoenix Shadow Phoenix Signet.jpg 00:08, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Doubt it's server sided. Might be just lag or whatever. And get rid of Norton, while your computer is still alive. BlazeRick 12:28, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
No u r not understanding this happend to everyone in my guild that was on at the time, u cant tell me we all just lagged at the same time. --Shadowphoenix User-Shadowphoenix Shadow Phoenix Signet.jpg 19:11, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
The problem with guilds dissapearing and such is not new, it happens sometimes after updates, matter of lag. Also, my previous comment was a joke (But yeah, get rid of Norton, before your computer explodes) --User rayd sig.pngRayd 19:35, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

2nd build[edit]

Any word on it yet? BlazeRick 21:32, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

This cannot have been it all[edit]

Maybe I am too optimist, but they often fix/change things they do not mention. Maybe they also fixed the transparent turning ancient paragon gloves or so... the Assault on the Stronghold thing was not mentioned either. One can always dream, after all. :) --Longasc 22:17, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Well, I know Snaring Web's description got updated. I guess it's not important to document every minor change. --Nerthing 23:56, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
I'd say every minor note is important. I'd suggest to put this under the wiki notes additionally. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 00:36, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Think he meant for Anet not noting it. BlazeRick 01:22, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Most text fixes are not mentioned. Backsword 02:11, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Lost Faction[edit]

I lost 1k balth faction when this update took effect. I had just finished earning it in RA when I got booted. --Kyle van der Meer 06:46, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Monster levels[edit]

They've increased the Simian Spiritcaller Normal Mode level range from 20..23 to 20...24, has anyone else noticed level range changes? -- Gordon Ecker 09:06, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Why would they make EotN harder when most of the complaints I've seen are that it's already too difficult already? Jotun, for one example. --71.240.80.160 13:42, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Probably because it isn't difficult, more like stupidly easy. Kypp Duron 19:27, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
You must be using the stupid PvE-only skills that they should never have made. *sigh* --71.240.80.160 14:55, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Have noticed that EoTN is in fact more difficult for players that use enchantments or block a lot. The amount of damage conditional on enchantments is quite high, not to mention the Jotun doing monstrous damage if you block. So very simply, don't block and try not to use too many enchantments ;)

Blind is good for you in EotN. Dinousaurs love it. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 18:30, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Invalid names (n)[edit]

I notice when in EoTN when you target call an explorable area inside the outpost the names will show up as (n), e.g. Grothmar Wardowns inside Longeye's Ledge, and the Norrhart Domains inside Gunnar's Holds. Mabybe there more. 82.155.199.123 10:15, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Cake and Waffles

I'm getting this problem too. -AyaStowar
Happens from Rata Sum as well and Vlox Falls.

Map zooming[edit]

Has anyone else noticed that zooming in and out on the world map seems to be slower since this update? --SK 11:28, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Past Tense[edit]

When were the action pings updated to show past tense?

Example:

Character is using Healing Signet!

Character used Healing Signet!

--SK 22:30, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

It might have been the previous update after the calls were blanked. --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ Talk 22:34, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Re:Fixed a bug that occasionally prevented characters from accessing two Eye of the North quests[edit]

Hurray for that, as I was one of the affected accounts. I noticed that after the update, I could not do the last quest in normal mode (which I had completed long time ago), with the statement that I was not ready for the quest. That leads me to the believe that they somehow "reset" the status of these quests to competely "undone", meaning the last quest missed a prerequisite. Did anyone else note this behavior as well? --Xeeron 17:05, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
