Heroes and Henchies?[edit]

I was trying to do this with heroes and henchies, but couldn't defend both kilns at once. If you don't start activating the kilns, the enemy will not attack. Go to the right, around the middle, and go over the bridge, and wipe out as many enemies as you can. THEN go to the middle to activate the kilns. You still may have to fight some enemies, but it's easy to do with just heroes and henchies.

It is possible to defend with just hench and hero's. take a healer and 3 other henchman, and 1 healer and 2 other hero's. flag the big flag on one side and the numbered flags on the other side and stand with the henchman. 12:22, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Easily in NM, but it is a lot harder to do in HM.I quit trying and went to the "alternative" in HM. NM i just used an mm,healer and fire nuker with barbs on the left. Then the rest of the party on the other side (h&H).Micro 17:16, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
Okay, it is 2018, and I don't know how many people are actually playing anymore, but I just split my heroes up as suggested (one healer each side); I also had one warrior each side, too, and it was a walk in the park. No need to worry about this one. --173.239.240.25 20:21, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
You can also "Skip the Kilns". TikkaLeFem (talk) 09:30, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

Bug?[edit]

Genius Operated Living Enchanted Manifestation Bug.jpg

Thats not a hostile golem, thats a destroyer with the (wrong) name "golem", its an old bug in gw. 22 October 2007

I've tried this three times and it still don't work[edit]

I've followed these instructions to the letter using henchies and heroes, and each time my party was defeated (apparently on the other side from where I am the golem gets destroyed still.) Not to mention on the main article of this mission it tells you to stand near the (burnt?) area. Where is that? --Worldly Tutor 05:37, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

well it works fine except it seems my henchie hero party wiped up the destroyer before I could drop the first golem caller.now everything is dead but no quest completion.24.209.48.247 22:31, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Terrokian

I\ve used the same method with heroes and henchies, The Golems helped me finish off the last destroyers, but also no quest completion...bug? Sjel 23:49, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Bug?[edit]

Normally I have absolutely no problems with this mission. but something strange happened tonight. The Destroyers coming from the eastern (right) side would randomly start taking zero damage, normally, it seems, when Inner Fire was active. I tested this on the northern (left) side, and this did not occur. I did not have weakness on me, and I was dealing cold damage because of an Icy Scythe Snathe. Unless I'm totally missing something, I consider this a bug. Has anyone else had this problem? AtraAstrum(talk) User AtraAstrum sigpic.png 04:45, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Gadd uses Iron Mist. It's annoying when you don't know that. JonTheMon 21:52, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Bug about killing avatars too quickly[edit]

Far as i can tell, this occurs when you are where the destroyers spawn as the kilns finish heating. The trigger to add the kill objective seems to be walking over the crest of the hill, but since you are already at the botton, it never gets a chance to activate. Noelahg 21:11, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

I had this bug too. Just do the mission again but wait at the top fo the hill while the Golems are heating up. Flaming Hot Chilli 08:17, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
I went down into the hive and killed everything along the way till the destroyers stopped coming. Then I went to Sokka to activate the mission. Ran back to hive and killed everything that spawned. When "Learn how to deploy golems" came, I kept killing and killed the Bringers of Destruction. Then nothing happened; no more destroyers and no mission end. I walked over the crest (before the burned area) and back and the Destroyer Spawn spawned. I killed them and no end. I then crossed the crest a few times and nothing happened. I went back to Sokka and got the mission updates "Raze the hive", "Drop a beacon" but it was too late. I had to repeat the mission. It seems that you have to go back to Sokka twice, the second time being before killing the Bringers of Dest.97.122.122.211 09:43, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
I just had the same bug, so now I have to do it all over again. Really, why can't ANet fix these bugs? So many are such small things (seriously, just because we killed it too fast?) but have a huge effect. I don't think every single person is working on GW2, they have to have some still working on GW1 to administer updates and such, so why not fix these bugs? Tender WolfUser Tender Wolf sig.png
I think the relevant "bug" statement ("There is a delay between when the Bringers spawn and the task to defeat them is added to the quest" etc.) needs to be removed, because the problem seems to have been addressed. As soon as you kill the Bringers now, the mission ends; you do not have to wait for the intermediate stages, as you did before.--98.114.178.63 08:45, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
I can attest that the comment immediately above me is WRONG. I just killed the Bringers without waiting for the intermediate stages, and the mission did not conclude. Same bug as ever--so many years later!--74.103.157.38 05:22, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

Different sort of bug[edit]

I disconnected during this mission, right after I activated two golems - I was in no way near killing the Bringers of Destruction when I d/ced. When I logged back on hours later, I found that I talked to Mamp in Rata Sum only to receive the reward for completing the quest. I'm not complaining - but can the AI play on without you while you're not there? Or is something causing this quest to complete itself when you d/c during certain points of it? 65.24.69.82 04:28, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

A little too repeatable for me[edit]

After finishing the quest, getting the experience and asura rep, it still shows up in my quest log upon returning to Rata sum, requiring me to do the mission over. has anyone else noticed this? i saw a couple other comments in the discussion page about it, but this is kinda serious. 71.225.197.82 00:25, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Easy victory on HM with h/h[edit]

http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_Discord_Spam U can complete it with any class and taking any henches (without them u would probably win too). Just run from golem to golem while they're heating up and kill each pair of attacking destroyers. Discords + promise nuke kills each destroyer in few seconds. Remaining part of the mission is a walk in the park. Just remember destroyer of thoughts have hex removal, which can be nasty against promise. Gunm 19:49, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

6 Discord Heroes, 1 Perma tank and a Assassins Promise Monk. Easy Completion in under 10 min, but went the back way. Flaming Hot Chilli 08:01, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Did Anet just make this easier?[edit]

I'm used to doing this by now against overwhelming waves, IE: They just start piling up at both Kilns after a while nomatter how fast ya think you're killin 'em, and no matter how much ya Clear the occupied top areas First (by using the Sneaking/Ninja technique around and over the bridge first). Anyway, last night I tried it with one of my weaker alts, and the Destroyer waves seemed to be on a longer pulse. Not only that, but I almost never saw a Wave of 3 come at once. Mostly all just 2 at a time which meant fewer Deeds/Thoughts destroyers in general making the melee destroyers that much easier to kill quickly too. Was this just luck or is anyone else noticing sort of a Thunderhead 2.0 Feeling to this Mission now? --ilr 20:39, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Heroes and Henchmen Hard Mode[edit]

Is it possible to use the same tactics shown on the G.O.L.E.M. page on Hard Mode? Not just the "normal" way, but also the alternatives. Thanks --Warnlord 18:07, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

I tried out alternate 1 and it worked like magic. I never got to try alternate 2, but, I just wanted to say that alternate 1 DOES work in hard mode. --Warnlord 13:50, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
I don't know about the alternatives, but simply flagging your heroes and henchies and doing it that way works just fine, though of course it is a little trickier in Hard Mode. Sometimes you might have to leave your heroes and run back and help the henchies, too, iirc. Also I think they nerfed Inner Fire so this isn't too hard any more. 86.26.82.55 17:54, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
In fact, I've just done this misson in HM now and I found my heroes were doing better than the henchmen (I didn't need to do anything myself rly), despite the fact they didn't even have a dedicated healer (Livia had Life, WoW and MBaS and the only other things were Displacement on Xandra and DA on Hayda, though they seem to have helped quite a bit). 86.26.82.55 18:17, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Dialogue[edit]

I noticed that some dialogue is missing, dont have the exact workds myself (something like: Sokka: OMG whats that? when closing in in the bringers of destruction). Can someone add the incomplete thing? 86.80.183.215 20:50, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Asura Points on Repeat[edit]

After doing this mission again on Normal Mode, I only recieved 100 points and not 500 as the page says. Just wondering, has this been updated and no one has changed the page or is it unknown. I will leave it as is for someone offcial or who can confirm this. 81.97.90.1

I only got 200 points for HM completion. I did it twice now, 200 points ea. 88.159.236.245 10:21, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

Another PUG Mission[edit]

Yet another mission that is relatively easy with a PUG, and damn near impossible with H/H; I would not complain but this is EoTN not Prophs, its a Heros game now; but A-NET will never let go of their fetish for a failed PUG format.... Did not work, does not work, wont work for GW2 Either, Devs let it go. --69.255.123.188 03:26, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

This was fine pre-7-hero update - you used to take something like Lina, Lo Sha, Aidan and Talon (then flagged them at the west side by Oola's golem thing), and brought sabway/spiritway heroes for the east side.
Alternatively you could just go left at the start, clear your way with 8 upto the hive, flag heroes and hench at the bottleneck, and return to the start to trigger the waves. File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 14:53, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
