Used?[edit]

Does anyone actually use this? I don't think that it's really a bad skill, but it just doesn't really seem worthwhile to bring. Barkingllama 02:35, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Edit: I'd suggest making this just a spell, not a projectile. Barkingllama 02:35, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
I'd shrink the cooldown to about 4 seconds. As it stands now it's pretty wimpy for energy management and the damage isn't quite worth it otherwise anyway. KrelusDerian 02:37, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
For the reasons mentioned above, also plz buff Glowing Gaze, Shock Arrow, and Glowing Ice... If glowing gaze rocks why does this need more damage and better cooldown?-- Arkhar 06:27, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Personally, I think the energy condition should be changed to knocked down. Then it would be a good followup after using an expensive knockdown nuke instead of a so-so Ebon Hawk. But that may be actually be a nerf since some enemies can't be knocked down and you can't knock down all the time. :/ Can't win... Gaiaswill 02:45, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

I use it to keep energy comnig for more Stoning, the concept's now viable since they buffed Enfeeble. --Ckal Ktak 19:24, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

netgain[edit]

Using this with 12 ES and Earth Attunement gives you a netgain of 9 energy every 7 seconds which isn't bad, all you need is a necro with enfeebling blood.--92.11.128.239 07:11, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

STILL a projectile[edit]

I still don't understand why this is a projectile, earth spike damage (omitting obsidian flame) is pitiful enough without these skills being projectiles. I can understand why people might want stoning to remain a projectile, but compare it to gale: stoning is a projectile, costs more when you don't factor in the exhaustion, and has to fill a pre-requisite to be effective. In addition, everything in general PvE seems to have a much higher armor level to earth than to air, water, or fire, so you're better off spiking with those elements anyway. Since when do things have less armor vs fire and more vs earth? Check out Destroyers and Titans. Also, this is not a spike skill. Also, elementalists only have like five spike skills. Also, since when is spiking in PvE good, omitting cryspike? Also, Stoning deals damage. Also, exhaustion is a very large drawback. Also, should I go on? — Teh Uber Pwnzer 21:19, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Check out the whole Wastelands for earthen goo. And just scroll down the list of air magic skills to actually find more than five spike skills. Spiking is good since Prophecies or Nightfall even in PvE. You have some correct points as well as not that correct ones. Never try to obliterate because that might tell of one's self-righteousness. In the right hands, Earth is immensely more powerful than Fire, Air or Water. In the right hands, which yours (if you complain about projectiles) are clearly not. It's the weakness that's the problem. Other elements don't have to double spec for reliable, on target, conditionals. Earth does. It's a delicate balance though: if Earth did get reliable on target weakness, Stoning would soon become too powerful. 145.94.74.23 20:07, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Energy management spell =/= spike assist. If you're really going to use a projectile spell to spike with, I should hope you're smart enough to have the target knocked down first. ~ WELL HELLO Chao 21:17, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Note?[edit]

shouldn't it be noted that, from the 4 with ES scaling attacks, this one has a 7 sec recharge, and the others a 8 sec recharge? (not logged on)

Also, does Ward of Weakness trigger the Energy gain? Since it hits for elemental damage. Mark of Rodgort sets foes on fire when they're hit by Fire damage, so MoR+Glowing Gaze triggers the gain.
I thought Ward of Weakness had this in notes, but it didn't, just in discussion. Changed. The answer is No, it doesn't get energy if you hit someone that doesn't have weakness that is also inside the ward with glowstone. also, sign your comments with ~~~~. StatMan 20:47, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, Clamor is not. NuVII User NuclearVII signature 3.jpg 17:17, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

In fact, I'd say the same for all those non-elementalist skills. NuVII User NuclearVII signature 3.jpg 17:18, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Iasha[edit]

Saw this skill on Iasha's list in Wehhan Terraces. I added it to the skill trainers section of this page. Lysander 19:44, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
