Talk:Golden Egg

From Guild Wars Wiki

Wouldn't it make more sense to call it a chocalate egg? I know golden egg is the in-game term, but that sounds like a Jack and the Bean Stalk kind of thing. I wouldn't really want to eat a golden egg... Edmond The Ranger 02:57, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

well that would just be silly as I am not really sure what chocalate is, chocolate on the other hand... it is in the in-game term anyhow, we aren't of the habit here of just making up new names for stuff if we don't like them. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 12:02, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

old trivia[edit]

no longer important. I removed and someone re-added. Treasure hunter is account wide. so yes trivia bit is out dated and no there is no point in saying "once apon a time when u couldnt get treasure hunter title in pre, you could with easter eggs though". Removing note in a week unless someone thinks its really that informative.--Justice 07:10, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Whats it have to do with Treasure Hunter? Ramei Arashi 20:26, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
If picked up when assigned to the player, the egg gives 1 point towards the Treasure Hunter title. King Neoterikos 06:43, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
If the trivia note is to remain, I would suggest a reword, as it's current state insinuates that it is possible to earn the title using only a pre-searing character in some way other than golden eggs, as opposed to simply displaying the title earned by another character on the same account. I don't get that impression. It links to the corresponding update page that features the account-wide change, so it's kind of still in context. I'm indifferent, but it wouldn't be too difficult to add in a note like "Prior to the 13 November 2008 update (which made Treasure Hunter account-wide), blah blah." -Auron 12:40, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

Why they sell so high?[edit]

They give only 1 sweet point, and the treasure point is only when you pick them in the map. They effect is the same but shorter than candy corn and are easy to farm. Yet, you can find them sold at 200 to 300g each. Am I missing some special effect about them? Lokheit 12:54, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

The +1 is essential for some farming builds.--83.82.62.210 13:00, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
And again, candy corn gives +1 for the double of time and the same sweet points and is sold as regular candy while this one not. Lokheit 17:21, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
There are two other factors that go into pricing: human nature and supply. The supply of candy corn is plentiful (esp. during H'ween), so it's hard for sellers to collect a premium. And, festival fever tends to cause humans to over (or under) pay under certain conditions. So, strict mathematical formulas usually don't apply (otherwise, since mystery tonics easily sell at >= 100g/point, standard tonics should sell for 200g ea...but they rarely do).  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:31, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
and most of the time for speed clears u will need BOTH candy corns and eggs in order for it to work. Demonic Sin Ex 23:08, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
