Location!

I've finally found someone who confirmed to me where these drop! This person told me they drop from the end chest of the Cathedral of Flames. I haven't gotten one so far, but this person said he/she had. Can anyone else confirm this, please? LunarEffect 19:04, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

It's possible they got this confused with the Exquisite Surmia Carving which is a quest item and currently is not deleted from inventory upon completion. --Nunix 21:32, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Possibly, but he was writing "wtb Golden Rin Relic", so I asked him if he already had one, he replied "yes" and when I asked him where he got it, he said from the reward chest in the Cathedral of Flames. LunarEffect 22:31, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Ergh. I hope they drop from somewhere else, too.. I really want a Dread Mask but the thought of running the temple over and over, or trying to buy them for inflated prices, is disheartening. =/ --Nunix 15:53, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

I think I remember geting one of these during the preiview weekend. The image posted here looks very familiar. I sold most of the stuff I had gotten then realized I should be keeping it all. Although that would mean they are in norn areas which is weird since the collector is in ebon area. Dont want anyone going of on a wild goose chase to find it where only my memory thinks it is though. :P Im going to keep looking there myself. Gandorf

I just got one, as a drop from a slain charr in COF.

To put an end to questions about this, they only drop in CoF and as far as I knwo they don't drop from the chest, just the monsters randomly. They are not extremely rare, sometimes on a run I can get as many as 4 or 5. This is a confirmation that they randomly drop from monsters in CoF. Golden Rin Relics

I really want a Dread Mask but I can't seem to find any golden rin relics dropping in the temple. I've done the temple with the quest Temple of the Damned on and off and never seen one drop so I'm thinking it's a drop issue. Or maybe I'm just being stupid and it doesn't drop in the temple. It was corrected today for Destroyer Cores but the bug is still there for Golden Rin Relics and Diessa Chalice :-( Chriskang 09:19, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

I've seen a few Diessa Chalices drop but I've not seen the Golden Rin Relics. I cleared the dungeon a number of times when I was working on the wiki article and I never saw any drop from the chest. The Chalices also have a very low drop rate. Dancing Gnome 17:53, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Only if they get caught. Be serious, if they were getting caught most of the time there would be no profits in it for them and thus chances of getting caught seem pretty low, considering the gold sellers are still out there with their bots. A nice system though, ban enough of them that they can still cut a profit selling their gold and the banned accounts get replaced with new ones A-Net sells to the gold farmers, because the old ones were banned. I wonder what % of the "copies of GW sold" are is gold farmers and their banned accounts. Would probably be very high. Dancing Gnome 05:56, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Not really, its a random drop just like anything else. I don't think the game coding considers it to be "rare" per-se but it does have a lower drop rate. A fast farmer can usually get a minimum of 2 per run with the occasional run yielding none. I have gotten as many as 5 in one run but it was just myself and my smiter so we had good drop rates Nay the One and Only 20:13, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
