This is incorrect about hilghly savagables in Golds and Purples, I managed to get a highly salvagable Gold wepeon once.

Yeah same here. Antiarchangel 12:59, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
I once got a gold with the "Measure for Measure" ins. But the thing about it that confuses me is that I got it from the Zaishen Chest, I thought that highly salvageable was a PvE only trait. I didn't think about getting a screenshot of it, but if it comes up again then I will be sure to take one. Steve 23:15, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
PvE-only probably means that you can't make a PvP weapon with that inscription. 86.137.70.195 16:38, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Moved from article[edit]

LOL in my opinions you need a larger sample size.--71.185.41.90 20:52, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Increase Rare Salvage Chance[edit]

I guess to confirm this you could purchase 10 steel daggers from the Weapons NPC in Kaineng and inscribe them with this inscription and get 10 without the inscription. Salvage them all and see if the inscription affected the chance of a rare salvage, not just the quantity. This is of course expensive - and still not as extensive as you might like, but more precise than just salvaging different weapons with different values and rarities with all the guess work and inaccuracies. I would do it but I'm not that rich. Too bad collector items aren't inscribable, (but they would probably be fine for the control group). 122.104.161.96 20:02, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

More Circumstantial Evidence[edit]

I added "Measure for Measure" to a Jeweled Chakram (metal) expecting to get increased glittering dust or iron ingots, I got steel instead.

Whenever I add "Measure for Measure" to Jeweled/Ruby/etc weapons, I always get a gem. When I salvage things which are "Highly Salvageable", I usually get steel. Vili User talk:Vili 01:07, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
i already got dust on such weapons with MfM...about as often as gems so far >.> —ZerphatalkThe Improver 11:41, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
"I always get a gem". I lol'd. Yeah, 100% chance of gem with a 50% chance of a crystalline appearing in your inventory. I have salvaged dozens of then with MfM and never got one. Btw, note should be removed. First of, it's pure speculation, and people just adds this when salvaging because it increases the ammount of material received, nothing more ~.~ --Lhoj 15:53, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Inherent modifier on non weapons?[edit]

I know you can attach a Measure for Measure to anything, but I cannot recall if inscriptionless offhands or shields can be highly salvageable. I suspect they can be, but confirmation anyone? --Axis 04:49, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

Sure, you can find highly salvageable foci and shields. Since offhands drop less frequently, it's easy to miss some of the variation in their inherents.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:10, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

Just looking at a graph of Jade Wand salvages[edit]

File:User Chieftain Alex Jade Wand dust salvage graph.png I'm looking at this graph of the dust salvage reports from Talk:Jade Wand, and I'm drawing these conclusions:

  • Highly salvageable items seem to salvage for upto 5x more than the maximum of a non-HS item
  • Gold items usually salvage into more dust than Purple items
  • Purple items usually salvage into more dust than Blue items
  • White items seem to have the entire non-HS salvage range

I don't trust the small sample sizes. I suspect that people are far less likely to bother posting about white item sal-rates generally and far more likely to post high rates (b/c they seem, to the average person, more interesting).
I think it's a useful hypothesis that salvage amts (and perhaps chance of rate mats) is highly correlated with merch value (and therefore with color), but beyond that, I don't think we have anything close to enough data. For example, reading the same table suggests there's about a 15% chance of getting jadeite out of the wand, whereas I've expert sal'd hundreds and hundreds of jade weapons and never gotten jade. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 14:07, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
