Talk:Ice column dragon statue
From Guild Wars Wiki
Uh, thats just a statue like the ones in kaineng city. Its even the same model as the kaineng ones, just frozen rather than burning. Don't try and read into everything :-/ — Skuld 19:39, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- Agree, it's so thin compared to the one in the Charr Homeland. Also, hibernating with your head at the top of a big ice pole isn't such a good idea...

Is the deletion remark a bit of vandalism? It certainly seems like it. Also, what's the point of moving it to an article with all lowercase? I think that it looks a bit ugly. I'm going to go ahead and remove both. AtraAstrum

- First of all, the lowercase name should be used because this isn't an official name or title of the "dragon". It is just something a player made up, I think. The deletion tag was put up by Skuld in his oh so humourous way, but I believe this page should be up for deletion. I had not heard of this "dragon" before, and iirc it wasn't mentioned in "the Movement of the World". Also, the Drakkar is highly presumed to be the Far Shiverpeaks dragon, not this one (if indeed this is an ancient dragon). --

- Very well, just wanted to see the reasoning. :) I'll put it back up. AtraAstrum

- Drakkar looks more fierce O.o--The gw fan 23:39, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- Regardless of whether or not it's the dragon of ice and snow, the landmark definitely exists. I've moved it to a more descriptive, less speculative name. -- Gordon Ecker 03:18, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Question
anyone think it looks like its wrapped round a crystal from the searing.
--Iplaile 18:38, 10 October 2009 (UTC) I found a Dragon statue in the Salt Flats which I don't remember. Are there others appearing maybe?
That was a statue of Glint the Forgotten made it. Also if it was from the searing that part of the Shiverpeaks would look like Ascalon, it's ice - Giant Nuker 23:35, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
- They were firing crystals just over the wall, that's not very hard even when blind. - Giant Nuker 13:10, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Ancients
removed- IN the new GW2 trailer it shows the drakkar (from the lake) this is not the dragon of ice, it is a statue, watch the trailer youll see the drakkar, so that trailer proves it is not an ancient(i would log into accout but it wont let me cookies are enabled, right password just wont).--99.52.93.171 16:34, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Lord randy taylor
- How does it prove anything? The trailer may not have shown all of the dragons- in fact, it's more than likely it didn't. – Emmett 16:36, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
BUT it shows the drakkar clearly and plainly --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:99.52.93.171 (talk).
- Ok... and? That doesn't immediately exclude this one :/ – Emmett 16:50, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
look at the head of the dragon in the end, does it look like the giant iguana carved into the ice, no it dosent
- It's very possible they just chose not to feature this one, if it is a dragon. We should leave it as unconfirmed until it becomes official. – Emmett 20:25, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- Lord randy taylor, I probably just missed it, but where exactly does it show Drakkar in the trailer? If you could find the exact minute and second, this occurs in the youtube video that would be great.
- For the record, I also agree that the statue is just that- a statue. Damien Hellchaser 17:55, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- I disagree with it, it is kinda clear that there is one dragon per "area" the one in the shiverpeaks is the drakkar one, im putting a disputed tag on it C4K3
Talk 18:25, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thought he disputed tag is probably a good idea, couldn't this [1] also be one of the dragons then? I'm sure its just a pretty statue.... Damien Hellchaser 18:34, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- Im gonna lol if people start thinking thats an ancient dragon, i dont realy see why people think this is, no lore indicates it is, its just some statue, like theres already alot of, it just dosnt make sense that this could be an ancient dragon C4K3

- I remember reading something in The Movement of the World about a dragon awakening somewhere in either the Far Shivs or the Charr Homelands and then flying south to the mountains between Elona and the Crystal Desert. This was definitely NOT Drakkar, because it also stated something ELSE about Drakkar being IN the far shiverpeaks and NOT flying south. I'm willing to bet, however, that it awakened in the charr homelands and not in the far shivers. 66.69.254.164 01:23, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
- That would be the Water dragon C4K3

[edit] In-game
I went up to this "ice dragon" and by its head it looks more like a frost wurm than a dragon and I was looking at it at the base of the ice column. - Giant Nuker 19:58, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
