Synergizes with dualshot/frenzy/wepon of aggression any one? Halabala Opolis Sep 1, 2007

This skill makes me chuckle, probably because of this. http://www.crithitcomics.com/GWEye02.htm Other than that, I know that the charr and the avicara have the nasty habit of coupling it with dual shot, blasting my nicely clumped henchmen and heroes into oblivion. You can use it with a double/triple shot combo if you want to. Poor man's barrage, if you need the elite for something else. Azo 06:00, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Not poor man's Barrage. IMO it's half of Barrage and half of Kindle Arrows. Without getting rid of all your preparations. However, this takes up your preparation so that's why it's half Barrage. It's better than Kindle Arrows in my opinion because by taking Kindle Arrows, a preparation, you have lost all chances at AoE. If your going for a Conjure build, then I suggest this for fire instead of Kindle Arrows so you will have SOME AoE at least. Try it at Nolani Academy, open the gate. With Conjure Flame it does an UBER TON of damage. Try not to use this with a fire bowstring, though, because a lot of monsters are strong vs. fire. Of course if you're rich you can carry around a normal and a fire one, but since a lot of monsters *cough* titans *cough* are strong vs. fire it will do less damage even with the Conjure Flame. One way around this is to take Greater Conflagration, which means you can choose when you want both attacks to be fire magic, or only one.
Anyone else notice how good this could be with Mark of Rodgort? Bisurge 21:35, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
I don't see the synergy being amazing. The armor-sensitive damage will be very low in hard mode, and if you really want a build designed around degening everything for -7, just bring ether nightmare. --Supernick530 09:04, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
Ether Nightmare would require a player character to be either primary or secondary mesmer. Also, unless you're a primary mesmer, you won't have Fast Casting to decrease the 3 second activation time and 25 second recharge. --Silver Edge 10:26, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

Shadow Form[edit]

Those using perma Shadow Form builds be warned that Ignite Arrows will take large chunks out of your otherwise impenetratable health bar, despite the fact that each arrow is missing it's target.Pucktrapper 14:48, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

U know thats actually something that could be noted on shadowform. I mean in HM ascalon area you will face clumps of charr hunters who use this to deadly results. If its not already on there i will add it to notes.--Justice 17:55, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Is the damage still physical or does Ignite Arrows convert to fire?--Bleded Scythe 10:18, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

The damage from ignite arrows will be fire Sharpie 06:47, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Bug?[edit]

Is it intended that this skill always triggers the AI to scatter all over the place? Even if i hit just one enemy with Ignite Arrows he seems to be trying to get out of the AoE...i mean...sure the damage is AoE but this is just annoying in PvE cause the heroes and henchmen react the same way. Lou Wolfskin 08:16, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Little late, yeah... But anyway, now it doesn't seem to cause "scatter" so much, but using it seems to cause just the target to run from you. :( Which is rather awkward... Wilhelm Maverick 09:23, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

Protective Spirit[edit]

Using protective spirit on myself and standing next to the Armored Saurus in Assault On The Stronghold I noticed that the damaged caused to adjacent allies seems to negate Protective Spirit- this needs proving as I cannot categorically say this is so. Is this somebody else has ever noticed before? NojWerdna 15:02, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Are you sure? The damage isn't very high from this skill alone, I wouldn't expect PS to have an effect unless you were going 55/105 hp. Charr dominators remove enchantments too, I think, perhaps you didn't notice one spawn? 114.77.98.223 07:02, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
