Skill trainers needed. --Kronin 18:56, 28 March 2007 (EDT)

Ahh Guildies...[edit]

So there was this guy in my guild and he always called this skill "Immortalate." To add to it, he once declared his P/E to be a great fire nuker. On the plus side, he bought all our GH NPC's but then promptly left the guild. -elviondale (tahlk) 21:32, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Maybe he got it from Bedtime Stories... tho i don't think it was out back then.--Tyri Sunbeam 02:54, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Nice, sounds e-bay-tastic... 71.36.12.137 21:21, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Not bad for an almost ninety damage spell with only fourteen points invested into it (including the burning duration).William Wallace 07:50, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Aye, this thing packs a larger wallop than you might think. Fun when mixed with Necrosis. Krelus Derian 20:45, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm combining it with the mesmer spells, like "Epidemic" I hope its a success..

Don't forget Fragility :D

Update[edit]

Wow, poor ritualist spirits never survive a chance now regardless of how many points they have in spawning power. The good news is that Immolate is now superior than lightning orb PvP when both are set at the same duration of fourteen (if you include the burning duration) since the extra armor penetration from orb is only a plus twenty eight damage max.William Wallace 08:27, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

yay 70.188.155.222 14:18, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
except for the fact that you are over looking that immolate full damage take takes +3 secs longer to occur the orb... which is more then enough time for a monk to react.72.177.204.158 03:49, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Makes ruby djinn much more the clearer choice for a damage summon. Naga shaman is second for its ability to KD frequently, mursaat just blows.--Justice 06:15, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

And to the second IP, you are forgetting that Immolate is spammableCrimmastermind 06:26, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
and to PvE noob above your forgetting about a using both skills in a spike. Of course immolate wins in pressure hands down. Please learn to read. 72.177.204.158 18:35, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Immolate is flat out better in PvP, almost maintains burning and does decent damage for only 10e 1s 3r.. Lightning Orb is 15e 2s 5r and only does damage with 25% AP. Lightning Orb can be dodged and obstructed, Immolate always hits except against spell breaker, shadow form, (insert lame counter here). Which no one uses in PvP anyway as tanking in PvP is pointless.
On the other hand Lightning Orb is Air Magic, Which means you get different skills to go with it ... So really i think you cant say the Immolate is best62.198.195.94 08:31, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
as i've said (repeating myself now). Immolate = pressure. Orb = spike. immolate isnt bad because its bad on spikes. 129.116.43.45 02:27, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
also, immolate=energy gain with glowing gaze. Lightning Orb=no energy gain synergy with anything.Crimmastermind 03:04, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
oh, and to IP n00b who called me a noob, lol. Immolate it better in PvP than PvE, because in PvE SF is much superior. Plz lrn2play.Crimmastermind 03:07, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
wiki PvE noobs are fun 129.116.43.45 06:50, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
lol, and so are PvX noobsCrimmastermind 07:24, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
SF is terrible in PvE, especially in HM, so yeah, you are a "noob".Pika Fan 05:39, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Actually he was calling me a pve noob. Cause i said naga was decent but mursaat sucked. which he countered with the two skills synergy. Yeah when u start cordinating two summons on a team just so u can KD its called gimic. U wanna use naga for KD then use weakness yourself. All said and done ruby djinn is best because it delivers dmg with immolate (which is dirty sexy now)without having to worry about weakening target it feels like attacking for KD. Oh and learn to read and play game ;-)--Justice 06:17, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

trivia note is weak[edit]

Immolate also means "destroy by fire," which is much more accurate when it comes to this skill's use. -Auron 09:04, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Micah Ferguson[edit]

Micah does not have this skill for sale.

OMFG ANET[edit]

Let it stay at 3 sec for PvE FFS!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeap another brillant unneeded change to PvE, because of abuse in PvP.. and it affects the Summon Ruby Djinn skill.. Wonderful move Anet. Anon-e-mouse 00:28, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Unneeded change Thanks!

I SINCERELY hope ANet will see the error of their ways and change it back (even if only for PvE) VERY soon. Just because a skill is being overused in PvP, doesn't mean you have to kill it for PvE as well. Immolate was fine as it was. No need to fix what isn't broken. DevilJinKazama 09:46, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Wow really? A whole extra 2 seconds on the recharge of an arguably very powerful non-elite isn't a huge deal. It's balanced now. - i n s i d i o u s 420 16:33, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
They could have just reverted their damage buffs to it. The classic version hitting for 60 +3s burn @ rank 15 was already ideal. Cirian 17:30, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
