Item drops in Isle of the Nameless[edit]

moved from User talk:Gaile Gray

I got an item drop from a suit of armour in the Isle of the Nameless while doing some testing on a spike build, is this normal? The item that dropped was a Trick or Treat Bag. User Unreal Havoc sig.jpgUnreal Havoc 11:40, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes, it's normal; ever since Isle of the Nameless existed the dummies there have dropped holiday items during events. Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 12:03, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes, it hapens with events that cause special items that have a change to drop form every enemy in the game to appear, like easter, halloween, St. Patrics day ect. Raiala 12:05, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for your informative awnsers. :) User Unreal Havoc sig.jpgUnreal Havoc 12:07, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Will this ever be fixed or is it too subtle or insignificant for Anet to bother with? VanguardVanguard 21:44, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Does it need fixing? -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 02:56, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
I think this was meant as a feature rather than a bug... -- ab.er.rant sig 03:07, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
I see this as a natural thing- enemies drop treats, targets are enemies by definition, hence targets drop treats. Am I wrong? -elviondale (tahlk) 03:37, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
You're wrong, test dummies made of wood shouldn't carry trick or treat bags, but anyhow i got three bags when i was there and it should be like that. Just wished that master of damage died so i could farm bags from him as he would rez all the time --Cursed Angel 13:54, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
It only needs fixing if killing the dummies is considerably faster than killing other enemies that drop the same proportion of bags (which I do not know). If so, that would allow people to mass farm them, or even allow them to bot the dummies (since they are stationary and not hitting back). So in the end: If we start seeing lines of bots making for the Isle of Nameless, it needs fixing, before that it is not really a priority. --Xeeron 14:38, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Problem is this. Step 1: Make a pvp char with 3 MM heros. Step 2: Go the nameless use the catapult and let your heros raise minions. There instant holiday item AFK farming. Antiarchangel 23:57, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
No, they should carry ToT bags. It only makes sense that these things carry ToT bags and Spiders in pre-searing drop weapons. If the Charr didn't attack, then the spiders were going too. — Eloc 06:36, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Point is, we don't need event items, I want greens from them!!!--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Rhydeble .
Event items sell for alot more than Greens at times. I saw some of the ToT bags going for like 250-500Gold each. — Eloc 16:14, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Isle of the Nameless as a PvP area[edit]

I've been playing and loving this game for a long time, and ever since I started, I've wanted to be able to duel with my friends. Currently the simplest way to do that is to start a GvG scrimmage. Scrimmaging is a work-around, but it has severe limitations (starting distance, time limits, death penalty, paying for guest privileges...), and for dueling it's highly tedious and time-consuming.

Yes, I understand that Guild Wars is about team-based combat, but that doesn't change the fact that some of the best and most memorable times I've had in PvP were one-on-one duels with other skilled players. With the addition of the Master of the Isle (and the allowance for players to enter a PvP version of the Isle of the Nameless), it would seem like the groundwork is laid for dueling in this massive and beautiful arena, but so far as I can tell, there's still been no provision made.

I'm a PvE player primarily and part of a small guild which I love, but which doesn't participate in GvG. I enjoy PvP, and I think this would be a good way to involve my friends in it without pushing them into competition with folks they don't even know. If there were some mutual way to flag players as enemies (i.e., both players mark themselves and/or their heroes as combatants, or a duel request/acceptance dialogue), and some NPCs on the Isle who could optionally clear or reduce Death Penalty, then I think we'd be set. I realise that these may not be minor additions to the system, and I know that you ArenaNet folks are going full-tilt on Guild Wars 2 right now, but even just the people I've spoken with in the Great Temple seem to think that this would be a ton of fun. It'd create a new game type, a new build dynamic, a convenient testing ground, and a new reason for people (particularly traditional non-PvPers) to play together.

Any wiki folks want to chime in on this? Welcome, unwelcome? Thoughts on reasonability?

Bug?[edit]

On the Isle, I test my builds before I use them in actual gameplay. Perfectly reasonable. However, when I use health sacrifice skills, and then stop doing anything, I will temporarily gain regen, like I'm supposed to. But... it stops before I'm at full health... I'm not targeting anything, using skills, even moving, so I should gain health until my bar is full. However, the regen stops after it hits anywhere between 2 pips of regen and 6 pips. Nevermind, just because Windborne Speed kept expiring on me. --User Gah My Name Cant Fi Vow of Silence Gah Sig.jpg Gah 16:23, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

More like Isle of Anonymous![edit]

How much HP do the practice targets have?[edit]

Generally if an article doesn't state how much health a foe has, then it takes the value from the table on Level#Effects of level. In this case 480 seems likely. -Chieftain Alex 07:07, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
You are correct, they have 480. Tested this long ago on gwiki while making a ritspike build for halls. -Auron 12:13, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
