Exits[edit]

Call me pedantic, but should Great Temple of Balthazar (Battle Isle), Docks of Kaineng (Cantha), and Sun Docks (Elona) be listed as "exits" given that they're really only accessible by map travel, not by walking out of a portal (which is what I personally would interpret "exit" to mean.)

After all, following this logic suggests that these 3 could be listed as an "exit" on any outpost in the Prophecies campaign. After all, any place that you could map travel to is an exit to anywhere else :)

And on a really pedantic note, it's Battle Isles, Kaineng Centre and Kamadan that are the map travel points.

Fully agreed with you. Also removed Lion's Gate, since it's a one-time-only portal, part of a quest, and works only in the direction from Lion's Gate to Lion's Arch, and not the other way around. --Dirigible 05:13, 11 February 2007 (PST)
Agree with the exit definition, but wasn't Lion's Gate used in the other direction for Sunspears in Kryta?
--Snogratwhisper 05:20, 11 February 2007 (PST)
Not according to the GuildWiki page. Quoting, "Destroy all four [Chaos Rifts] and you'll automatically be taken back to Lion's Gate where Kormir will teleport you to Elona. After a short intro cinematic you will find yourself in Sun Docks where Seamarshal Bendro waits for you. Talk to him and you're done!" I don't remember going through any portals for that quest, either. You destroy the rifts, then the timer starts that teleports you away. --Dirigible 05:34, 11 February 2007 (PST)
It is still possible to use Lions Gate after doing the quest, but there's not much to see or do there apart from a few npcs--Mizuki Kusanagi 05:51, 11 February 2007 (PST)
Doh, Lionguard Bedo, you're right. Forgot about that guy. :) --Dirigible 06:01, 11 February 2007 (PST)

RESET INDENT. What about our friends the Ooze and Rat? They are allied NPCs. And the Lionsguard Reserves is it? I just noticed these guys, are they here to stay? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:65.23.90.225 .

They are part of the Guild Wars Eye of the North Sneak Peek Weekend. So they'll likely be removed when GW:EN is released. -- ab.er.rant sig 09:03, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Inner Lion's Arch?[edit]

With a note like "Inner Lion's Arch is not accessible to players.", I'm thinking it needs to at least explain what and where "Inner Lion's Arch" is... -- ab.er.rant sig 01:37, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

agree. i don't know what that refers to... - Y0_ich_halt Have a look at my page 15:41, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
I've been in GW since the World Premire Weekend and have yet to see a reference to "Inner Lion's Arch" at all. Zypher Wynn 10:09, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Does it refer to the portal/door behind the guild registrar and emblemer, maybe? - anja talk 10:32, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
might be he's talking of lion gate? - Y0_ich_halt Have a look at my page 11:08, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
If it's the door behind the guild registrar and emblemer, I believe that is the suppose to be the gate that you enter from during the "Gates of Kryta" mission. Zypher Wynn 18:59, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
It's talking about the innermost area where the castles and larger buildings are, presumably the former living areas of the Krytan nobility and now the barracks or w/e for the white mantle Nay the One and Only User Nay the One and Only SIG.png 01:08, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Music in Lion's Arch[edit]

Does anyone else notice that the game soundtrack starts to play the track "Ashford Abbey" when you first port into Lion's Arch, then it abruptly fades into another piece before "Ashford Abbey" finishes playing? I wish they would just let "Ashford Abbey" play all the way through; its one of my favorite Guild Wars music pieces. Swordfish56 08:04, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

I noticed this.Tong2 21:42, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
As an update to this, have you noticed this is the music that plays in the keep!? Anet had this planned all the way back then! -Tong2 17:34, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

The Lion Statue[edit]

I was wondering why don't we have a picture of the lion statue from Lion's Arch on the actual page. I really think it's an important detail. Markus Clouser 12:15, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Done. I placed it before the image "ILA" and moved that one below. If placed both under "Quests" would have stretched the area. I hope it's ok. Markus Clouser 12:43, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
Looks good! C4K3 User C4K3 Signature.jpg Talk 12:44, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

The Talking grass[edit]

Hi, i just added a point in notes on the talking grass. The talking grass will be on the patch of grass just before you enter the merchants road (from the main square). I dunno should it be worth mentioning in wiki, but i added it anyway. [Shenpster]

I think it's okay. To be honest, I didn't noticed the talking grass, so thanks :P Markus ClouserUser Markus Clouser signature img.jpg 00:08, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

I would add a screenshot, but i dont know how to upload pics on this wiki, so if anyone pls be kind enuf to either tell me how to do it, or post their own pics up. [Shenpster]

It will be done. Also, you might want to sign more easily and better for us all, with four ~ Markus ClouserUser Markus Clouser signature img.jpg 00:19, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
Because this only appears during the Halloween holiday, it shouldn't be added to this article. --KOKUOU 00:22, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
Actually, never mind. It can be added here, but this isn't specific to Halloween 2009. It happens every year, so I'll change the article to reflect that fact. --KOKUOU 00:24, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
By the way, it's a talking corpse in it's grave. - J.P.User J.P. Halloween sig.pngTalk 00:28, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
Whatever it is it stinks and it talks to me :-/ "click-click" -> Lion's Arch Halloween Talking Grass.jpg Markus ClouserUser Markus Clouser signature img.jpg 00:31, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
I am wondering if its a schmear of excrement, since I really don't know of many grass patches that stink, or possibly someone in a very shallow grave lol Nay the One and Only User Nay the One and Only SIG.png 01:10, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Frog[edit]

You know the frog under the tree by the Xunlai chest? are the more of them, if so, where have ppl seem them? Kraal FardaleUser Kraal Sig.pngTalk 19:01, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Theres one in the Wizards Isle, near the trebuchet--User Magican Signature Empathy.jpg Magican talk 08:12, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Should there be a max armorer?[edit]

I was thinking that if Lions Arch was to be a "centre" point or trading capital of Tyria, wouldnt there be a max armorer for post Prophecies game characters? Or even post War in Kryta. Since I personally see Lions Arch as a quick source for everything except armor.--User Magican Signature Empathy.jpg Magican talk 08:12, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Speaking of armor, a note for Prophecies characters coming thru here for the first time: Do *NOT* buy armor from the crafters in Lion's Arch. Go around the corner to Bergen Hot Springs and get the higher-rated armor there. *Malgnis Frostmourn* 99.48.30.109 08:16, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Bug?[edit]

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I just logged into a character which was in LA, and all the Canthan New Years Decorations are up, along with the Faction music playing in the background. I'm currently in Eur Dis 1 which is completely empty bar me. A message popped up saying "Festival Decorations changing in 10 minutes" Which then displays again at 5 minutes, 1 minute, and 10 seconds. However, nothing happens and the messages repeat. No New Year NPCs are there however, and I've only seen one other PC who disappeared after about 10 seconds. This happen to anyone else? I can post screenshots if needs be. Again, sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. talk delta36 14:17, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

I've had the same thing happen to me before with different events as well as this year's Canthan New Year. I am not quite sure why it happen, but it is certainly not you. Perhaps you should ask a member of the Live team why it happens? --'Mai Yi' talk 14:21, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Logged out of character and back in, went to the New Years version again. Changed to a different outpost and back, and LA is normal.. one or two other people there said it happened to them as well. talk delta36 14:24, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
As I said, it's not uncommon, but I just do not know why it happens. --'Mai Yi' talk 14:26, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Certainly an odd bug at any rate.. talk delta36 14:27, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
It may not be a bug, and may just be an unfix-able problem with the way they introduce the decorations into the town. Perhaps they have Canthan New Year version of LA on another server and cannot fully close the server? As I said, this question is better to ask someone who knows something about how the game functions. --'Mai Yi' talk 14:31, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
