I love how there is an entrance of the underworld here. I think it would have been great if the Realm of the Gods was only accessable through PvE areas. Would be a big change to how farming them worked. Dancing Gnome 12:25, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

How would that have changed anything at all? Last I checked, you *can* only access from PvE areas... ToA, zin ku, corridor of secrets... -Auron 12:28, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Lornar[edit]

Who is Lornar anyway? - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 14:31, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

A Tyrian hero who lived 800 years before us and single-handedly held off a great Hill Giant invasion in Beacon's Perch. Chriskang 14:38, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
Where did you get that information? I know the description is pretty much directly describing Lornar's Pass, but still. Gmr Leon 19:20, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
It's from the in-game outpost description for Beacon's Perch. That Sounds Risky | 19:27, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
That's what I thought. I just always got the impression that the name of the hero was Beacon what with that being the name of the outpost. Gmr Leon 22:17, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Shouldn't the description be at least referenced here?--Cyberman User Cyberman Mastermind Sig.gif 10:01, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Boss Locations?[edit]

I'd be very thankful if anyone could add boss locations, Tonfor Copperblood in particular.

*EDIT* Map Added (If anyone knows how to add this officially I don't mind.)

Droknar's Pass Vanquish?[edit]

I was wondering, is there a page describing the Droknar's Pass vanquish (starting from Camp Rankor through to Beacon's Perch)? I think it might be useful for players planning to vanquish this area to know what this all entails (I wouldn't be opposed to making it). --User Tero Gein sig.jpgtero 11:55, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Some tips for the group with 2 dolyak masters, and a dolyak rider. I tried to vanquish this area from Beacon's Perch, with a discord h/h party, and had a huge amount of problems with this group. It doesn't help that there's only two rez shrines, one at the top and one at the bottom of the area (whenever you die, you're in for a long walk). Discord doesn't work that well, because of how quickly they cast mend ailment and remove hex. To anyone who makes it to this page and is also having problems, here's some things that might or might not help: (1) do a chain vanquish from Camp Rankor, so you get an 8-person rather than 6-person party; (2) attack the rider first, since the rider is the only one with hex removal (if you're using discord); (3) body block the rider in a corner; otherwise he just kites the melee; and if he's in a corner, you'll also be able to cast AoE DoT stuff on him; (4) be prepared with minions before you take on the group; (5) speak to the statue of Grenth to get bonuses (if you have favor); (6) take "Finish him!", or anything else that inflicts deep wound; (7) take humans rather than h/h in the first place... Other than that.... take powerstones and consets, and pray I guess...

Or heal denial + mark of pain (2 warriors or some minions). Dont remove mark of protection from the rider until it helped you to kill adjacent foes with mark of pain. Yseron - 90.15.55.244 21:14, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
The 3 dolyaks is only half the problem. There was another group of Summit in Dreadnought's Drift with 3 dolyaks, and I killed them without a hitch. What makes this mob problematic is that it's huge: a dozen dwarves or thereabouts, including a sage (I hate Empathy). I found that it helped to pull them out of their cave and string them out, so that you can hopefully kill a few dwarves before the healers get there. This way you can whittle them down until the mob is of a manageable size.
And yeah, nothing else on the Droks vanquish run comes close in terms of hassle. -- Hong 12:17, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
I found that bypassing them by taking the western route up the pass and then swinging round and approaching them from the north helped. When I approached them this way (with discord heroes and henches), they pulled apart much more readily, and the Dolyaks were noticeably slow to join in. But that was after first having caused them to bunch up to the south by trying to tackle them from that direction. Kirbett 01:59, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support is a good friend up there. I ran up there the first time with Discord heroes and Sin Support and couldn't break that group down. Then I retried with a shutdown mesmer, wells necro and monk heroes. It was still tough, but I was able to snipe quite a few of the group out and then take the Dolyaks down. This first run was from Camp Rankor and the second was from Deldrimor War Camp. SardaukarUser Sardaukar sig.png 15:30, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
For this particular group(one discussed above) go around and hit them from the south heading north. Pull until the large group remains. Since this group has about 6 rangers, hide your group behind the wall located south of the group and pull. If you do it right the rangers can't hurt you and just take out the healers one by one with discord form behind the wall.
I left with a 6-person H/H party from Beacon's Perch. Me (VoR mez), Sabway trio, Stefan and Alesia. My first attempt at this group was from the south, with a full set of cons expended. I stalled twice and then wiped - it was too huge, and all came running at once. I tried Kirbett's advice above, and tried from the north upon respawning. Worked much better. They were indeed strung out a bit more. I handled (and currently handle) the Dolyak's with Sin Support+Backfire+judicious application of Drain Enchantment. Thanks for the advice. --The Duke of Silence 00:57, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
This mob is just wtfish. 3 monks with every effing counter and cannot be knocked down. HSR makes MoP a joke no matter how many times you remove enchantments and you cant blind the physicals because of mend ailment. Sepperate, im not mad because of the mob size, the monking or the physical spiking, im pissed because they took those 3 things, multiplied it by 2 and rolled it into a single mob half way into the zone. Toss in the necro and mesmer for good measure. Theres "pure" mobs like ice imps, theres balanced mobs with a sprinkling of each profession, and then theres stone summit mobs that make pve skills look weak. Justice 01:34, 17 September 2010 (UTC)
Maybe, but if you come prepared it is not that bad. After a few wipes, I followed the above advice. Used Sabway, 2 warriors, and 2 monks from Deldrimor War Camp. I was a E/ME. Usually, I don't bring AoE into HM, but it actually helped here as the scatter kept them from finishing my group off. I brought Mirror of Disenchantment to rip off Mark of Protection on all the Stone Summit at once. It worked really well on the group of 12 as the three tanks they had on me lost their prots all at once. Plus I brought Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support. Got lucky on one of the groups as it took out one of the Dolyak Masters. I was pissed too after my first wipe (HINT: don't use Discordway here). I had just come up from Camp Rankor, hadn't wiped through Snake Dance or Dreadnought's Drift, and spent a good three hours in Lornar's Pass before giving up and finding the right combination. But once I did, it wasn't any harder than other HM areas. Beregond 04:34, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Just vqed all the way from Camp Rankor to Beacons with 2 ppl and 6 heroes. Me, an AP necro and a SoS rit. Used 2 man discordway, worked like a charm. We had just 2 deaths or something in total. If any1 wants, i can post the builds here, cuz i modded the 2 man discordway. (switched 1 necro out for a SoGM rit for example) Took about 3 hours, a few mins less. (With texmod on and complete exploration as well). 86.92.170.87 14:45, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

283 foes, 1hr 51min, vanq/maping. SIX MAN TEAM! 2 players and my 4 heros. For the love of god take Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support r10, EVEN if your 8 man. I went with a rit who thankfully had r10 EVSS aswell and that huge effing mob halfway into the zone...yeah we sniped all 3 dolyak healers in ~5min. The rest of the zone was all about hero flagging and careful pulls and retreats when necessary. NOT ONCE did we wipe. Go as defensive as possible since the dolyaks are terrible monks in reallity and 6man vs some of the larger mobs (like the grawl & tengu) can get tough. Why did I need EVSS then? 3 monks chaining MoP and condition/hex removal is just rediculous coupled with Hm's HSR for monsters, aka even modderate enchant removals/ daze & blind just wont cut it. For the love of god take EVSS if you have a player on the team with r10 ebon (yes it will insta kill an hm dolyak at full health) ... Justice 22:56, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
According to Hard mode, foes have HCT not HSR. --Silver Edge 04:02, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
My mistake, not that it changes much. Justice 21:29, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Reset Indent. To be fair it could be worse...they could have rez signets too ;). I actually took a slightly different approach than most with the mob, mainly because I'd forgotten about them and had to work with my normal burning/general degen heavy party. I balled them up at the north end of the fort and my tanks body blocked them in place. Which kept my backline safe from the melee and allowed me to pile on degen/AoE (mainly burning). The dolyaks kept trying to heal everyone so with us focused on one of them they couldn't keep up and eventually one went down, the other two were pretty easy after that. I also found if you're not relying on hexes it's better to take out the masters before the rider. 109.151.89.145 12:49, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

I don't know what everyone else's problem was. I did this on my first try without a single wipe with a Moebius Blossom assassin and the 7 hero support build from PvXWiki. Hell, I'd captured Feast of Corruption from the boss in the previous zone, which ended up removing Moebius from my skill bar entirely for this entire map.
The Summit in that fort were mildly difficult, but a straight rush into their base from the north killed them easily; the only problem I had at all was with the mesmers, especially the lone Crippling Anguish/Empathy mesmer that wasn't mounted on a Dolyak and therefore harder to target.
Snake Dance was much worse, IMO; I came much closer to wiping on several occasions, even with my smiter's Fall Back replaced with Ward of Stability, and my assassin's build actually working due to not having captured Feast of Corruption yet. --Banjo2E 05:44, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
The 3.5-year-old comments you're replying to are when 7-hero teams didn't exist. -- Hong 07:58, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

To update on the vanquishing matter, of course it's less difficult now with a party full of heroes, though it's not that easy (well at least not for me). It failed there because of this group of 3 Dolyak Master/Rider with a party of 8 coming from the south. Not wanting to walk all the way from Deldrimor War Camp again, I tried with a party of 6 from Beacon's Perch, this time using the updated version of Sabway called 3 heroes balanced Team plus two monks (heal&prot), and myself as a Me/Rt with spirits. I succeeded on the second try - all it takes is a careful pulling, and this time I came on the Dolyaks from the north, using some of the edges for blocking. Beware when you arrive from the north, as soon as you have the first summit group on the radar, it will start very long patrol route stating in your direction and going quite far north (at least up to the northernmost summit camp) Now I'm going to test that party in the Crystal Desert. -- Korgelen (talk) 22:51, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

Heh, last time I did this I used some forgettable setup with heroes, but with splinter weapon, triple chop + some kind of nuke, probably roj, they fell pretty easily.. Minions and spirits make any outnumbered disadvantage ok. -Chieftain Alex 09:26, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
285 foes, 1hr 1min imbagon and 5 heros. Came here thinking I might not have enough damage to kill the triple monk groups but with good target swapping it worked. Didn't need ebon vanguard sniper support this time ;-) Justice (talk) 02:33, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
as a side note, i swung around the west side of the map and hit the stone summit camp from the south. doing so I also was able to get the +25hp and +3hr buff from grenth statue. Justice (talk) 02:37, 23 April 2018 (UTC)

I had trouble locating one last group. This group makes a tour clockwise halfway the map. It's the part where you can take 2 alternative paths going north. One exit leads to a bridge with Grawl, the other path has Mountain Trolls and worms popping up.

Moenbase (talk) 16:04, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

anyone else not notice the deldrimor bowl exit...[edit]

when they first got here from doing the missions after ascalon? Took me a week notice that exit, thought i was going from low level shiverpeak dwarves to fighting friggin level 28's! 216.119.178.127 19:08, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Outdated[edit]

The current picture is way outdated, can someone post a new map? -77.166.63.187 13:07, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

How is it "way outdated"? What features in particular results in the need for it to be updated? Also GWW:BOLD. ~Celestia 13:33, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Late reply but I think the colour of the fog around the edges is different (blueish instead of gray), indicating that this is from the old pre-EOTN map. However I'm pretty sure this is the only change, the actual area hasn't been updated so I doubt it's worth the time to change the map. 109.148.225.67 22:40, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Black Beast?[edit]

So Im going through my screen grabs and I come across one of me with heros and henchies in Lornars Pass accompanied by a lvl 20 Black Beast thats as big as me. I remember I saw it when I was vqing, but not much else about it. Anyone know why that would be there? the_decline 10:15, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
