Stub[edit]

Unless someone has a compelling reason otherwise, I'm going to remove the stub tags from most of these merchants. I don't see any additional information from the formatting guide that pertains to merchants. --User Jasmine the Fey Sig.jpgJasmine 00:38, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Sounds fine to me. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 00:42, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Just make sure if you remove the stub that they have some level 0 text (which is usually the "<name> is a merchant, a type of NPC that blah blah..."). That's really the last thing that's missing from most of them. - BeX iawtc 04:44, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
How about a list of what they sell? 145.94.74.23 09:08, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Indiviual Merchant pages need to be updated.[edit]

Small equip pack added to the items they sell. Lotta the individual merchants don't have that item listed. 24.233.254.51 01:58, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Unclear text[edit]

"Merchants only sell full stacks of the following" + "And a maximum of ten at once of these"... uh, what? Well, I know these sentences should be understood as "Players can buy up to a full stack of a given stackable item at once" + "Player can buy up to 10 units of a non-stackable item at once", but text is misleading me to believe that "these items are only sold as a full stack" + "only up to ten of these items are available each time you interact with a Merchant". Do we really need this weird/confusing note? --NIN37 15:10, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Merchants won't sell a full stack of lockpicks, because that's > 100k. Why is this even a note?--128.244.230.27 16:03, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
That's my point... If such note is due needed, a less restricted one should be used instead. Something like "Players cannot purchase more than 10 units of any non-stackable item at once".

But, honestly who would want to buy 250 identification kits when a newly created character can only hold as much as 20 items? :::Sure, +1x belt pich +2x bags (+rune of holding) = 45 items...
+1x equipment pack = +5~20... But only weapon sold by merchant would be Starter Shield in pre-searing (where only equipment pack available is the small one).
Seriously, there's no need to buy a full stack of an item (if they're sold by merchants, you can grab more later, no need to purchase large amounts at once).

Note is still misleading (could make reader believe it is not possible to get more than 10 of any item).
Seriously, it does not add any essential piece of information and makes it more confusing than clarifying. At most, such info should go into Item stacking or Item...

BTW, "Where applicable, items are sold to a merchant for half the value they would otherwise be bought for" is incorrect as well. They sell items (usually) for double the value (Belt Pouch costs 20x its value).
Wiki keeps "inherit" prices of item (i.e., value displayed when you hold mouse over the item), so, "merchant price" is double "the item value", not the other way around. :P yeah, I'm being annoying... :D --NIN37 14:00, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
