[edit] Question..
...What's the point having mini pets?--BTR 21:42, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
- They are cool and represent your commitment to the game and ArenaNet's appreciation for that commitment. --
Wyn 21:45, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
Oh--BTR 21:55, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
- Mini-pets are like elite armor....only more....useless, only thing they are good for is so you can say "haha look what i have", rare mini's are just another reason to stroke your e-pen. 69.131.130.247 08:57, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
You guys act like A-net created these to make players happy........ Their sole motivations were towards economic manipulation. Before mini-pets A-net would constantly punish the rich and reward the poor to maintain thier "Player Driven Economy" (ROTFL) These little pets along with title tracks to add value to party items and such were all they could come up with. The fact that adding grind only makes the economy less appealing to most seems not to factor into thier thinking. In any event thats what mini's were for.
[edit] In-Game Miniatures
Im trying to find out the drop chance percentage for the Miniature Mallyx, Miniature Polar Bear and the Miniature Ghostly Hero. You recieve them all from chests of some discription but i can't find out the % chance of getting one. I'v looked on the wiki pages for the Miniatures and the Chests that drop them but found nothing. I did find some tables added by other Users but none of them had even one Miniature drop. Im guessing that the drop chance is about 1% but would like to know the actual percentage. Can Anyone help me?
Titan Crow 20:29 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- At this point, with so many wiki people farming the miniature polar bear, I would guess it's drop chance to be much less than 1% (possibly on the order of 0.1% or 0.01%), but with such a low drop rate, there really is no way to be sure. Same problem with the miniature mallyx and ghostly hero. The only way we're going to be able to accurately find out these percentages is if ANet leaks them to the wiki. [edit] Summoning
So if I get this straight, you can summon a miniature and then walk to another area and just summon it again, or will it stay summoned? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:93.125.165.187 (talk).
- Summon it again. Fox007

[edit] Celestial Ox
We're getting close to the Canthan New Year 2009 time. Being based on the Chinese New Year, we might expect it to start in just a few weeks. I suppose we might expect a Celestial Ox minature this year? Sure hope it won't be as maddening as the Miniature Polar Bear. 76.30.79.54 23:27, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
- Naw, it won't be as bad as the mini Polar Bear, lol. They come out of the Lunar Fortunes so be sure to farm a lot of them. I got a Celestial Rat last year as well as many friends so they can't be too hard to get. I'm just wondering if they'll make a new skin for it, use a celestial form of the cows the roam outside, or if they use the model from the ox in Prophecies [which would be awesome :D]. Magic 08:52, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- I highly doubt a new model. Just to much work/benefit, esp. as Linsey has said modelers are rather busy. A celestrial skin on an existing model would be my guess. Backsword 08:56, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Minipets as Allies
I was just wondering.. the page states minipets are treated as allies and can give buffs on specific skills like the Paragons "Leaders Comfort." But I got to thinking, if it helps with skills then by chance does it work with the Paragons Leadership attribute? When using a shout or chant does it factor in as an ally to give back energy? Magic 08:58, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- No. --Jette
09:00, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- Wrong. Yes it does as long as the paragon shout or chant affects allies. 189.33.71.221 15:03, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- It indeed does. so if you playing a paragon in pve ask all players to take along a mini pet for your energymanagement. works like a charm Fear 07:04, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] too early for ideas for 4th year Mini's?
anyone got some ideas about what 4th year's are gonna be? i just cant wait to find out, the tension is killing me, hope there's a Mini Doppelganger. The Only Warrior 09:02, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] What about a "mini-you"?
Well i know it's kinda weird, and that i should place this in suggestions(don't know ow to...). But what about a miniature that looks like your character XD.It would be cool not? no account:call me sierra --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.136.189.240 (talk). You could post your character in the Hall of Monuments, then it could be a rare b'day present
[edit] 4th Year
Just saw a Mini Word of Madness in Great Temple of Balthazar, the guy says it's white. Saw a Mini Kveldulf, a Mini Krait Neoss and a mini Dredge Brute in Kama, also all white. If these are the whites, can't wait to see rarer ones ^^ --Oneshot 07:54, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- As you see them, add them to the list in the article. --

[edit] 4th year minis
I dunno about anyone else but im kinda disappointed about them. I think they lack creativity. Anyone else feel like this? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 0:33, 29 April 2009 (talk • contribs) at 65.189.201.89 (UTC).

- They are freebies... I wont be seeing my first 4th year mini for another 2.5 years unless I buy it ... if ya got one, enjoy the fact you get to have all the fresh minis whenever they come MrPaladin 13:28, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Everything about the 4th year update fails. It will not surprise me at all if A-net starts selling in game gold or "title packs" or some other crap like that when GW2 rolls around. After the way they kicked their players around in GW1 they may need too............... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.221.118.93 (talk • contribs) at 16:16, 6 May 2009 (UTC).

[edit] Suggestion
Mini pets pick up loot for you? Perhaps? Please? Something? 68.47.192.6 05:32, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Highly probable that hundreds of high-end miniatures were lost
It is a lot more probable that hundreds of "high-end" mini's were generated snd ADDED than it is that they were lost. A-net didn't even come close to banning everyone who duped stuff. For the sake of Argument lets say they got 99.9% of the people that duped multiple stacks of a particular rare-minipet. Lets also say that they located and banned 99.9% of the people that bought them and redistributed them. (I think it is pretty fair to say that those numbers are very very very generous, there is no way to know an exact percentage, but I know a few people who got over on the duping bug, and I am certain I do not know .01% of the people that duped.) Now lets say that mini-pet was Kanaxai, of which there are supposed to be 49 in game. all it would take was for 1 stack of them to remain in order to increase the total prescence by 500%. Even if the original 49 were removed that would be generating them not losing them. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.221.118.93 (talk • contribs) at 16:14, 6 May 2009 (UTC).
- Why do you keep referring them as a stack? You can't stack minipets. O.o Magic

[edit] New mini?
I just saw a guy in GToB with a mini Yuletide and im just wandering wth is this because i've never seen it and there is no info about it in wiki. i got a screenshot if u dont belive me --Aartist21 14:27, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Is the notes on all the mini pages neccesary?
"This is a miniature version of the _____". Is that really necessary? 24.233.254.51 00:45, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- So how else do you suggest we phrase a nice sentence that links to the creature page? -- ab.er.rant
13:39, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- Most characters dont know what a flying dragon is if they dont have factions, or dont know what a semi-invisible man holding a glowing axe is, so the link guides the player to the right page and given appropriate information. Flaming Hot Chilli 08:39, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] I've gotta ask.
Has anyone tried to solo w/ a paragon and use miniatures for allies? you know for a leadership bonus or something... I dunno thought it'd be funny...Ζεφ 22:30, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
- Minis count towards leadership bonus, and other things like for Leader's Comfort. Vili 点

[edit] Minis have been observed having drops assigned to them.
GuildWiki has a clear screen shot of a drop assigned to a miniature Gwen. That seems like sufficient proof of the statement until/unless someone has evidence that it was a hoax. Ideally, I'd like to see this wiki have its own screen shot. In the meantime, I hope this link will do: [1] — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:44, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Uh, look at the talk page for the image in question. I'm 99% positive it's just a guy with that name for his character. ANet didn't reserve even important character names like Shiro Tagachi, so I'm pretty sure anyone can make a char named Miniature Gwen (unless someone else has it already obv). -Auron 06:24, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- I read the notes and I've seen the screenshot [2], which shows a full party (with no one named Miniature Gwen). On the one hand, Auron, I agree that you are correct that anyone could easily create the toon just for a screen shot hoax. On the other hand, the guy has insisted that it was his guildie's mini's drop, so shouldn't GWW:AGF apply?
- How would you want to go ahead proving/disproving the claim? Is there anything to the theory proposed on the page that suggests that heroes/minis auto-collect their drops? (The idea being if you move a hero/mini quickly as the item drops you can prevent the pick-up from taking place, thus leaving it with an unusual assigned to.) — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 06:39, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- As far as proof concerns, 1 screenshot is hardly enough, at least on this wiki. It could be a newly introduced bug, though, since there haven't been reports about this on the past.
- If possible, someone with time could try duplicating the bug, since the described method for attaining the results appears to be simple enough. Until then, i would avoid adding it to the article.--Fighterdoken 07:58, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- It looks like a fake. I prefer a screenshot more effective than that. I think we should take it down until there's more proof surrounding the drops. I've never seen a drop like that for any of the miniatures I've had out. --

- Even if it's real, one known instance in three and a half years hardly seems noteworthy. 24.197.253.243 15:25, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- "As far as proof concerns, 1 screenshot is hardly enough, at least on this wiki." "one known instance in three and a half years" What we have is one documented instance for something that, at best, is only going to happen in extremely rare circumstances, which might be less than 1-2x/year. Even if the theory above is true (and, atm, it has no documentation afaik), it's impossible (in a practical sense) for the typical player to create the controlled conditions necessary to replicate it.
- So, our choices are: (1) assume a hoax, (2) assume it happened, or (3) set about trying to verify the possibility that it could happen some other way. I'm willing to take the time to try to validate this via ANet; who (there) is likely to be able/willing to respond? — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 18:32, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- The thing is, that small of an image. I'm questioning it, because do you see that item with the icon over it , highlighting the name of the mini, etc.? I think with the image being so small... It's possible of a hoax more than real. I'm agreeing with you though Tennesse Ernie Ford, I prefer to consult with Anet on it and consider it like a bug, maybe. --

[edit] Gallery
Unfortunatly my wiki-fu is so subpar i dont even know how to do bold in a message or create a link. but i do think it would be fantastic to have a gallery of mini's. you know like youd find with weapons. just a suggestion of course but i honestly think that players would enjoy a nice gallery of miniatures.
