User The Holy Dragons ministry of purity.jpg ?? --you like that don't you..The Holy Dragons 09:45, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

i think we should wait and actually have a page for this guy since he's a regular npc, we just need his name and what quests he gives Getefix 19:24, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
Is this going to wind up being an Orwellian thing, where the "Ministry of Purity" is totally corrupt in every imaginable way? –Jette 01:30, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
They have a "good guy" start. Though some have quite a rude personality. Konig/talk 01:35, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
So did the White Mantle 75.62.1.43 03:32, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Actually, they didn't. If you read the manual, you pretty much knew they were oppressive. There were also side-quests in Kryta which showed this, such as Bandit Trouble and more importantly, The False Gods and The Hot Springs Murders. Right off of the bat, we had indications that there was more behind them than what they showed. The Ministry of Purity thus far has nothing against them, as far as I know. Konig/talk 03:50, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
It would be nice if we could either A) get armour/items from them or B) get an initiate of each profession so we can look the part. (Almost has a ring of "Shredder" to the armour, eh?) 199.126.37.144 04:01, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Come on now, don't be naive. Nothing good can come from a Ministry of Purity. Ramei Arashi 04:07, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) You can get their armor and weapons - the armor is costume, the weapons can be gained from Iza Yoi. Konig/talk 04:11, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Oh, and for the shredder look - When Kappa Attack. Konig/talk 04:11, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
When they start focusing on the Am Fah and the Jade Brotherhood, the Ministry start looking more facist. "Let's kill all the Am Fah, and since they're expecting us, let's kill the Jade Brotherhood instead..." Seriously, what does the Jade Brotherhood have to do with all that? The Am Fah are involved with spreading the Affliction, but isn't the Jade Brotherhood supposed to be just a group of idle nobles turned thugs or something like that? (not that i don't enjoy killing them, if only because they enjoy kidnapping little girls.) 80.119.62.237 05:30, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
The Am Fah and Jade Brotherhood are said to have been around for hundreds of years, and they both enjoy doing crime in their own fashion. Am Fah are definably the worst of them though, hence why they were the first targets. And your "quote" isn't really the situation. It's more that they're intending to remove the dangers - and Xan is clearly overzealous - they went after the Am Fah because they were attempting to make more Afflicted (and are probably the reason why the Afflicted lasted so long, in fact), but both were threats and intended targets. Xan went after the Jade Brotherhood because it would be "unexpected." Both groups are criminals and threats. Konig/talk 06:44, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
You still have to wonder why they didn't stick to their original plan; instead of "kill the Jade Brotherhood leader" they did "kill all the Jade Brotherhood members on the list and then some". Also, we pretty much know they will turn evil cause of Guild Wars 2. Although, it could also be the new emperor who's into a tyrannical and fascist rule. BTW, when is he gonna show up anyway?174.115.128.216 16:58, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
I believe that the reason for going after (most? all? never really said, just said that they know the names of all members) is because the Jade Brotherhood's leader was killed. Twice. Yet they still remain strong with replacement leaders, so just killing the leader won't do anything. As to Usoku: he takes rule in 1127 AE - it's currently 1079 AE during WoC. We won't see him, except maybe as a kid. Konig/talk 22:04, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

Known Members[edit]

Just as is done here, I think it would be appropriate to list all known members of this ministry. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 03:03, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Agreed and in the form of a table as per Order of the Sunspear. Not sure if uniquely-named members (e.g., Zei, Xan, and Tsuriai) should be added except for those of importance (e.g., Reiko, Ashu). Konig/talk 04:00, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Shouldn't collector Iza Yoi be added? Ramei Arashi
No. She isn't part of the ministry. She is an arms dealer who's selling weapons for the ministry. Konig/talk 00:01, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
Affiliation Ministry of Purity, seems like member to me. Ramei Arashi 10:14, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
I'd like to point out that it is 100% impossible to find out what her affiliation is. Whoever put that down is completely guessing and I'd have to disagree based on how since Factions ANet has been setting mechanics (army and family specifically) closer to lore. But it's impossible to disprove such just as it is impossible to prove it. Konig/talk 12:36, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

1984[edit]

I don't want to say this is a reference yet, or maybe at the least influenced, but the novel 1984 sort of reminds me of the Ministry of Purity. If the Ministry were to take over power, as the idea was slightly brushed upon in this dialogue makes me wonder. Also, with just the theme of loyalty to the Ministry that you see in some quests, just make me wonder if they will just want to create a secular society in Cantha. I look forward to the future quests in regards of the ministry. If they were to take over Cantha, or at least put in place a puppet Emperor, they would resemble the Ministry of Truth in the novel somewhat. Vincent Evan [Air Henchman] 21:42, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Already a discussion going on about this on the WoC page. --Briar User Briar Ahoy.JPGAHOY! 21:55, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
A bit late to the party, but I fully agree with Vincent. The ministry of purity potentially turning evil was also the redeeming storyline point in the otherwise pretty boring first installment of WoC. --Xeeron 13:12, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

GREEN DROPS!!![edit]

An elite ministry illusionist just dropped a green staff called Faith. I have a screen if anyone can tell me how to upload XD Derikvyreflame 05:35, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

On the left side of the wiki, under the toolbox section is a link that says Upload file. You click that, pick the picture you're uploading, and give it a name.--Yojimaru 05:51, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
Okay, thank you ^^Faith Screen.jpg This is from when I got the drop, there are the stats. If anyone with Wiki-Power would like to make the page, have at it, the staff has a Platinum Staff skin. Derikvyreflame 06:01, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
I also got a green, while randomly checking out Undercity explorable after doing the main storyline quests (with no other WoC quests active). Not only did I get a green, but the Am Fah that replaced the afflicted from Phase 1 of WoC were replaced by Ministry members. Here's a screenshot of the green spear I got. I got it from an Elite Ministry Captain. It has a clouded spear skin. I would of taken a screenshot of it while in undercity, but I forgot to.
Diligence.jpgMagi 06:23, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
Nice. I'm excited, even if these are using the same skins as the Purity weapons. Derikvyreflame 06:26, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
*Ehem* Gotta have faith? -221.145.55.99 06:36, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
For Faith is my weapon ;) Derikvyreflame 06:48, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
I found 'The People's Resolve, dropped by an Elite Ministry Mage --Mann Of Light 08:59, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
Got a wand drop from a Elite Ministry Mage (paper focus skin) "The People's Will". --213.118.225.137 09:24, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
I saw one green drop when I did part 2 last night but it was an old one. Going to be like WIK, I rarely see the greens. [Still haven't seen a WIK mini drop for anybody] Ramei Arashi 21:27, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
Just got a green wand drop named "The Peoples Will" from an Elite Ministry Illusionist. Skin of a fan. --User KAOS Signature.png 04:15, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

only now in HM?[edit]

ive completed the second part of WoC in NM, is the only way to get these to spawn now by getting to these quests in HM, as i cant seem to find any anywhere. Spark-TBa 11:43, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

It is probably similar to WiK content where the WoC mobs only spawn if you have a WoC quest in your log. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 11:46, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
i have up to quest 14 done in HM, so the ones in part one of WoC, that would explain why theres no ministry people. cant do the others. :PSpark-TBa 14:55, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
They show up in most areas in Kaineng where the afflicted used to spawn. I checked Bukdek Byway and Sunjiang District, and I'd assume they're also in Shadow's Passage, the Undercity and Shenzun Tunnels. I've completed all the NM WoC quests, but not the HM versions. -- Hong 15:12, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
so there is, must have been looking in the wrong place :P Spark-TBa 15:36, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

Bosses[edit]

It appears I was correct that they are replacing bosses. Dervish-tango-icon-20.pngDevi 14:07, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

Didn't it already say somewhere that if a boss was removed due to the updates then a new boss would be there with the same elite so you can still capture in the same location? Spark-TBa 15:00, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

reverted?[edit]

i changed a profession icon to monk for Herald of purity to monk and it was reverted. i only made it monk cause the Heralds page was displaying that  :) i suppose rather than changing this page i should have asked first, will do that in future  :) Spark-TBa 16:26, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

There's no need to ask first, it's just that the Herald of Purity page was wrong (or rather, there was nothing to indicate that it's right). Konig/talk 16:30, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
fair enough  :)Spark-TBa 17:39, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

Initiates Jeng & Shen removal[edit]

may i ask the reason for why those(Initiate Jeng Sunjoo Initiate Shen Wojong two shoudn't be listed under the "initiates" section? and for wathever reason they shouldn't be listed under that section, i think they should definitley be listed somewhere in this page, as they are full members of ministry of purity --User Kyx signature Skull.gifKyx 22:39, 22 October 2011 (UTC)

We don't add bosses to these kinds of tables tables unless they are of exceptional importance like the leader (e.g., Reiko). Konig/talk 23:37, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
Also, the top table is for allies, not enemies (which the bosses are, except Reiko). Unless they are allies most of the time like Xan Hei, the members fought don't belong there. The second table, for enemies, only lists generic foes. Konig/talk 23:43, 22 October 2011 (UTC)

Battle quotes[edit]

Since what they shout when they are aggroed it's the same for every ministry mob, shoud their quotes be removed form their articles and listed here? By the way, the shout list it's very incomplete. --User Kyx signature Skull.gifKyx 00:47, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

if they all shout the same thing, maybe transclude a page with the shouts onto all of the npc pages? (easier to update) I think it would look pretty ugly on the species page :/ File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 00:55, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
Include on here as for what we do with voice responses for EN NPCs, I say. It should be noted that Charr and Kournan military are lacking their battle quotes too. Konig/talk 00:59, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
Oh, and in regards to individual NPC pages - perhaps just have a link to the group page's quote section, so that there's no constant redundancy (like every allied NPC who can enter battle having the same quotes and these quotes being repeated on every. other. page.). Konig/talk 01:03, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
Seems like i've uncovered a bigger issue^^. Anyway, for now i'll move all known quotes to this article as per Kournan military and Charr; tomorrow i'll start the reasearch and by wednesday i'll have all their shouts. --User Kyx signature Skull.gifKyx 01:23, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

Monster Skills[edit]

It doesn't seem that their monster skills are listed in one place. Anyone wanna set that up? --Ph03n1x 08:50, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

It isn't great, but when I documented them I put them here. (skills 2722-2731) File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 11:54, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

I don't think there's a need to list 10 skills. Not like other groups with multiple unique monster skills have them listed anyways. Konig/talk 01:14, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
What's with all the enchantment hate? I epected them to have more condition removal/transfer ( mostly from Pure was Li Ming ) than enchantment removal from foes (almost every monster skill remoes enches).95.180.84.110 12:43, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Well it stopped me attempting to farm them with Wastrel's Demise on a perma sin with a bonder pretty quickly... File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 12:48, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
