Known render issues[edit]

  • Tattoos are being moody, so any outfit with tattoos will most likely have to be re-capped. Additionally, I may not be able to get renders of scar patterns at this time (although I'll try). --Emily Diehl 20:15, 27 February 2007 (EST)
I bought the Luxon without seeing this... =( — BlackGeneral File:Blackgeneralstar.png (talk|contribs) 01:14, 10 March 2007 (EST)
So... I'm looking forward to seeing the correct armor image for armor with tatts =) — BlackGeneral File:Blackgeneralstar.png (talk|contribs) 14:51, 14 March 2007 (EDT)
There is also an issue with the Ancient armor missing the stockings. - Anja Anja Astor (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2007 (EDT)

Armor name changes as of May 25th 2007[edit]

Here's an overview of the name changes as implemented for Monk Armor.

Monk is now called Tyrian
Ascended Ascetic's (tattoo) is now called Flowing
Ascended Wanderer's is now called Elite Woven
Judge's is now called Elite Judge's
Saintly is now called Elite Saintly
Censor has been unchanged
Sacred has been unchanged
Woven has been unchanged (or already updated - wasn't it always called "Wanderer's" ?)
Dragon (tattoo) has been unchanged
Star (tattoo) has been unchanged
Labyrinthine has been unchanged (as it's been newly added)

hope this helps

Some Tyrian is still called Monk, Judge's is actually changed to Judge, Censor used to be Censor's, and the tattoos were previously just called Ascetic's. - BeX 11:44, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

PvP reward armor[edit]

i noticed that the monk pvp armor hasn't been filled in, but the Monk Silk armor reference above the images links to krytan armor. is this a mistake? if it's not, then i'd say we should just move the reward armor to a note or something. --VVong|BA 14:40, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

I'm fairly sure that's a mistake seeing as PvP reward armor is meant to be something you get to unlock as a reward. Krytan armor is already unlocked for all PvP. - BeX 14:48, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
after looking at Tolkano, it's obvious that a lot of armor articles need updating if we want to include pvp armor skins. maybe all we need to do is include a crafting - core table. --VVong|BA 01:46, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
That the silk armor is linked to krytan armor is not a mistake, I checked it personally. All the links on the tolkano article about the armors are correct. I do agree it is strange, that Anet is giving the idea you get a new armor, but it actually is one you already have. --Jurrit 07:54, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Better Armor[edit]

I have to say Monks get barely any choice...they're all reskins with the odd exception hopefully in Guild Wars 2 they'll have some better looking armor...not saying this looks bad I love Kurz but look at what other profs get seems unfair. Zachariah Zuan. talk 17:12, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

lol. I was gonna post on how great the monk armor was...Ζεφ 16:28, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
That's odd, I came here to point out the fact that they all suck. Green Arrow 12:52, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
spose its all opinionated...Ζεφ 00:17, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Very. I personally like a mix of a few different armors, but no full set really says, "Look, I'm pretty awesome." I have a mix that makes me look like a black Mhenlo, so no complaints.
Oh, also, the Nightfall armors make male monks look tubby. Like, portly and jolly. FleshAndFaith 01:03, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
I used to mix the tatoos/judges from elite prophecies, that came out all right. -- Tha Reckoning File:User Tha Reckoning Sig2.jpg 01:04, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
Personaly I LOVE (Female) Labyrinthe legs/hands/feet with the Normal Kurzic top, it is such a pretty combo! 19:25, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Clipping[edit]

Well, I've now purchased 3 sets of max basic monk armour, and 2 elite sets. The reason for this craziness is that all but one of those have clipping issues. And I can't stand armour that clips, it hurts my brain. The one set of armour that doesn't clip (Canthan) I don't much like, and furthermore it's base colour is ugly, but when dyed it looks even worse.

Is there a nice looking (subjective, I know) set of female monk armour that does not clip? I am extremely reluctant to part with the money for another set and still find problems. With all of the five purchases so far, I checked the wiki first but no clipping issues were noted.
