Talk:N.O.X.
From Guild Wars Wiki
"to beat N.O.X. try bringing a team of 3 interupters that Daze and 1 monk to focus on N.O.X and another team of 4 to kill the other golems". This article, though new could probably do with something more informative than a brief, fairly newb description of how to kill him. Feel free to revert, but I'm going to go with something slightly more informative about Nox himself, if not comprehensive.--118.90.6.227 04:18, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 9 skills?
Never seen a creature with 9 skills before...

- From my understanding he swaps skill bars once he hits a certain health percentages during the fight. Stages of sorts. -- Hollow

- I remember seeing another skill something like N.O.X. Beam - Strikes all foes in a line for X dmg. Also, it might be worth mentioning that since he is a boss he does double damage, so just about any of his attacks have the ability to drop a target in a single hit without some type of protection...Loki207.71.50.165 15:31, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- It was mentioned in Linsey's talk page that N.O.X. is not doing double damage right now. I can confirm that (Ion Buster didn't kill any of my characters with a single hit, and no one had more than 700 health). Erasculio 15:42, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- He still has a level bonus, though. He's level 29; the Ion Buster struck my mesmer for 599 damage at one point. --
MrSmiles 20:03, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- My necromancer got hit for 900 points from Ion Buster (not surprisingly, it was a one hit kill). Didn't think quickly enough to get a screenshot, though. The point is that I don't think normal damage or skill rules apply to NOX. --Nkuvu

- I think meybe it have somthing like Swich skill for changing its skills ^^' ppl. are be able to use 13 skills if they use Ursan Blessing --Nizu talk 20:08, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Tactics
Any team tactics on killing him? If you take too long a gazillion little pesky golems spawn making it impossible to keep Bokka alive... Sjeng 16:18, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- The Deactivating N.O.X. article and its talk page speak a bit about how to defeat it. Erasculio 16:20, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- Interestingly, I didn't do a thing to defend Bokka and he managed to stay alive despite getting hit. One of my henches or heroes would break formation and heal him when he got hurt, and that was all it took. --
MrSmiles 20:04, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- I recommend doing this with some actual players and heroes. It took us literally twenty minutes but we got the bastard.- Vanguard

[edit] Trivia
Is it possible that the "N.O.X.ion Buster" is a reference to the magical attack "Excelion Buster" from the anime Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha?
Karuro 21:19, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- Considering that Stumme is one of the guilty, any Anime ref is a strong candidate. Backsword 13:35, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- Most of his third stage attacks sound like super robot moves to me...Hyper Cutter 05:01, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Take out the Bit Golems
When fighting N.O.X., be sure to take out all the Bit Golems as they are summoned. It's easy for one or two characters (a tank and a nuker, for example) to eliminate them fairly quickly. Main focus should be on N.O.X. When he gets down to about 20% health, he deactivates, and you can then take his power crystal.

[edit] Second skill bar
It's clear that NOX uses a skil like Ursan, that changes his skill bar at some time. (Might actually be more than one extra bar) It'd be nice to figujre out which. Backsword 13:37, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
you doubt that? all my chars name are Nox The X, my pvp is Nox Goes Pro, now theirs an npc named nox. kk :D--'ÑöẊĭƑý
15:18, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- huh? and how is this related to the skill bar? Assuming you simply are continuing the blabber about usage of the 'nox' character sequence, there was an excellent Westwood Studios game called Nox back in 2000 (armies of Necromancers, sweet), and there was a humanoid race called the Nox in the Stargate SG1 series. Of course, NOX has been used for Nitrogen Oxide for a long time, certainly nothing special or unique. 206.193.192.26 06:13, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
[edit] How much health does nox have
Does any know?
- Well, looking at the general health increase per level, he should have 660...but we all know that's not true for bosses, lol. Especially NOX, it seems like he has thousands of HP 207.172.148.72 19:06, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Xodus I
- Around 60000 HP.

[edit] N.O.X.ion Buster
Is it just me, or does this not behave like a normal spell? I've sat there and used three disrupts in a row on it to no avail. Same with other super power cast from other golems.
- The only way I've been able to interrupt the Buster (and POX's nuclear inferno blast thing) is by applying Dazed AND using interrupts, while having my warriors wail on it. Sometimes it got 3/4 of the way through, but it did eventually get interrupted. Inflicting Dazed really is the key to beating these golems. --
MrSmiles 16:24, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- Bosses have the tendency to need several interrupts to work. I think NOX's Ion Buster takes about 4 interrupts before it gets canceled out. Dazed and a couple interrupt heavy builds on heroes works well. 75.146.48.190 16:34, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ok.. maybe I'm missing something..
but I'm getting Quake sounds every time I kill something when taking down this guy. Thought it might be a TexMod thing, but I'm not running it. 129.21.75.89 20:54, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] new hardest foes
is it just me or are these golems harder to kill than shiro. i killed shiro easily in hard mode but these guys are insanely strong in normal mode
- Just like Shiro, the golem bosses are hard unless you come prepared, in which case they are pushovers. Maintaining Daze on N.O.X. removes most of his firepower. Vili >8<

ty. ill try that tommorow. know any good non elite dazed skills
- Spear Swipe is your only real choice for non-elite, and that's a risky one. You can also just take a bunch of interrupts. Vili >8<

[edit] Ultra Skills
Im sure all the people have noticed already, but Nox has spells with no activation time, and a stance WITH an activation time. Oh anet... Da Sonic Tuesday
