Redirecting[edit]
Uhm yeah since C4K3 just reverted me, I'll explain here again... It's much more desireable to have all the Abbrevations redirect to the Post searing one since its far more likely to be the desired page ppl are looking for just because far more ppl play post searing and not really many ppl play Pre. So its way better to just redirect it to the post one and in case someone really wanted to look for the pre searing one we already got a disambig Link at the top of the post one. It would just eleminate the need to click yet another damn link which kinda ruins the shortcut. --SilentStorm

- I personally think that the shorter versions should point to here since it really is ambiguous which one you would want to go to. I will grant that Post-Sear nick does get more traffic, but that doesn't mean he deserves all the redirects. --JonTheMon 14:20, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) You know redirects are not just only used for ease right? And just because he's the more likely doesn't mean people won't be searching for the pre-searing version C4K3

- I agree with Jon and C4K3. It's like all the abbreviations for skills (PS, SF, LA, etc.). Just because one of them would be the one most people are looking for, doesn't mean it should direct straight to that skill. ~Celestia 14:29, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- Those Skills are all just as likely to be meant if someone looks for that abbreviation, but in case of Nicholas there are like how many Million players playing Post and thus obviously looking for the Post Searing one against like how many thousands of Pre Players that want to look after the Pre Searing one? Its like with Mission's and their Outposts... We redirect directly to the Mission there aswell or the Page of the Town/Mission Name is about the Mission and then we got a Link to the Outpost right at the top for those that look after the Outpost to click on. This is a similar Case, by far the most ppl will be looking for the Post one just like many ppl will be looking for the Mission Description/Walkthrough for the Missions. It isn't a problem with the Missions so why should it be with Nicholas where we got a link for those looking after the Presearing one? --SilentStorm

- Post searing version has only been viewed 4 times as many times, I'd agree with you if it were 10 times as much, but the amount of people going to the pre-searing version is just to many for me to want it to point directly to post-searing C4K3 Talk 16:40, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

- Yeah exactly, while the Presearing one gets Visited by the same ppl every day the post searing one gets visited by the same people ever week, which means that the Post Searing one has ~66.000 Visits per Update while the Pre Searing one has ~2.200 Visits per Update, which makes like 30 times as much Visitors for the Post Searing one. --SilentStorm 07:09, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- I would also prefer this page to lead to the post-Searing character directly. Afterall there is still a disambiuation note on the Nicholas the Traveler article as well which leads to the pre-Searing one. —Zerpha

This should redirect to Nick Traveler[edit]
Now that the two Nicks have been around for a while, I think we should redirect this to Nicholas the Traveler.
- The default of this wiki is that primary article names are used for post-Searing, e.g. Ascalon City vs Ascalon City (outpost).
- The vast majority of the time, when someone says visiting Nick, they are referring to Nick Traveler. People farming GotH nearly always specify that they are in pre.
- The Nick Traveler article already disambiguates.
Currently, everyone typing in Nicholas has to follow a link. If we redirect to a real article instead of a disambig, then nearly everyone will be at the correct article without clicking again; the small fraction of folks looking for Nicholas Sandford will still only need to click once more. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 18:04, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
