Jotun Skullsmasher Bug[edit]

I'm having problems with one of the Jotun Skullsmashers from the area where they were dueling... It won't die - I've taken it to no hit points then there is a brief pause and instead of dieing it gains a bunch of health and continues fighting. I've killed all the other Skull smashers in the area - so it can't be what I'm doing. I'm not dieing either so the fight has been going on for over 1/2 and hour now. Complete stalemate... it seems as if there is something wrong. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:208.38.36.24 .

Why has this bug with the Jotun Skullsmasher not been fixed, as it makes it impossible to vanquish the area when he won't die. Any suggestions? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Udoh .
Hey folks, sign your comments please. As far as the problem: I was able to kill all the Jotun in the ring, but I've cleared the entire map and now I find I'm one (or a couple) enemies short; it might have to do with the same problem as the Jotun not being able to die. --onoes! Well, it's possible. I failed 4 times before I got it, but I got it. Here is what worked for me in both normal and hard mode, near as I can remember: I approached from the west side. I flagged my heroes and henchmen at the top of the hill and went down towards the ring of Jotuns alone. The previously friendly Jotun that form the ring turned red before I got in aggro range, so I crept a little closer to aggro them by proximity, without using a ranged attack. Some of the Jotuns from the ring and both of the dueling ones started after me at that point, so I dragged them back a bit, called the party in, and was able to kill them all off. If anyone can confirm that this also works for them, maybe think about adding it to the actual page. --Wee Tommy 02:41, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
I just finished vanquishing this area with no problem. The jotun, I didnt pull them but rather didnt attack until they were all red. Had a total of 243 foes. 24.188.207.20 17:32, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Flagged party at top, went to circle to the point that jotuns all went red, then pulled them, with party far back only for heal, no problems. 243 foes also.84.26.144.104 15:36, 22 July 2009 (UTC)nizab

Took me a moment to find the last two groups back near Gunnar's, but Vanquished at 254 kills. The Jotuns I didn't need to pull, just went in and killed them where they were. If you're still having trouble doing so, myself and my Heroes were A/x, N/Me, Mo/x, N/Mo [Skill templates: Myself: OwBj0xfzITlZVQHM+Pzk6P2k1gA MasterofWhispers: OAVDMopHPHi8QGoqaH6BWiyA Ogden: Owgm0oO3jClgRYQzDmRoRTfzEOgrE3NA Olias: OANEQSxG2KlG08pAiHUyA0MF4AC ] Hope it helps! 98.111.220.242 12:47, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
I just aggroed the 2 jotuns; they turned hostile; i killed them all no problem 71.129.55.215 19:50, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
There's no problem if the 2 contestants and 6 fans get aggroed together; the problem is if you pull the two red dots away from the fans. The current article has a note that contends it's not possible (or at least, hellishly difficult) to kill them if the auto-healing is still engaged. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:19, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

I vanquished this area yesterday and something weird happened. I was with one other guy, who almost aggroed them near the beginning, but I stopped him. The six outside jotun were green on the compass and the two dueling jotun were red, which I think is how it's supposed to be. After killing everything else, we hadn't gotten credit for the vanquish, so while looking for the last group, I passed the jotun ring and one of the dueling jotun was dead, which surprised me because the page says they're invincible. We continued searching, but had no luck, so we decided to just aggro the dueling ring. I got to the ring after he aggroed and helped him finish them off. We had no problems killing them and finally got our credit for the vanquish. So this contradicts what the wiki page says about them not counting towards the vanquish. Anyone have any idea what happened? Anyone else experience this? 24.30.66.138 22:00, 30 November 2013 (UTC) Barnacle

They're not invincible; I think those particular jotun have particularly weak hammers / don't meet their weapon req or something. Judging by the hit effects, every hit they're making is a critical. When fighting each other, they don't have any skills or heals and die after about 12 minutes. They do gain adrenaline - if you aggro soon after one kills the other, then the alive contestant instantly is able to use lion's comfort to heal. -Chieftain Alex 00:59, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
edit; it seems they were using skills the second time. -Chieftain Alex 01:04, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Avalance -> charr[edit]

Norrhart?[edit]

I always thought it was Nornhart Domains... I guess I just can't read that well, just like I thought Little Thom was Little Thorn... lol SkyMan25 01:39, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

I actually thought it was Nornhart Domains also until you just mentioned it =s --84.192.9.50 16:33, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

First note[edit]

The note about speaking to Gwen is inaccurate, I got my character to Gunnar's without ever speaking to Gwen. Eive Talk Windgrace 07:15, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

vanqing[edit]

244 foes, 1hr:15min, vanq/maping. The great thing about vanqing this area is that its sepperated into sections by rocky terrain. Just clear a "chamber" and move onto next. There are alot of KDs here but it didnt really bother me much as im used to huge giant groups in prophecies. Mandragors (fevered dreams) / Elementals (deep freeze) & Jotuns (VoR & Ineptitude) love their hexes so moderate hex removal is nice. Mandragors / Jotun Necros & Pine Souls make AoE condition removal a blessing although I didnt have that my self. Although the physicals here are certainly deadly, I would lean more on the anti-caster side which will also help deal with centuar monks. Ineptitude / Wandering Eye were not as effective here simply because Jotuns and Centuars have the habit of running away or using stomp when these hexes are placed on them. 240 foes, 56 min. Discordway. Easy vq. Just try not to aggro too much. That is all. --Osael 21:40, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

249, 35 mins. -Chieftain Alex 18:59, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
242, ~34m. I spent about 10m AFK browsing and looking at the comments. Justice has the lowdown on the enemy compositions this time. I went into it with Misty's Caster BiP Support; 2 ES Surge, Ineptitude w/ a MM, Pain of Disenchantment and a ST Rit as a Spirit Spammer w/ Pain Inverter and armor of unfeeling. I didn't ever feel like I didn't have enough damage and I had a few pretty nasty pulls of Mandragoa's. Be a little careful around the Warrior Jotun boss as you can easily pull in an extra group of adds. That's the only area I had any trouble with --LunarRXA (talk) 11:57, 20 May 2018 (UTC)

Last of the Mandragors[edit]

If you're stuck looking for final foe, return to the caves and see if the mandragor patrol is hiding in there. Also make sure you've been to the point where you can overlook Gunnart's hold. The ramp is at an odd angle and you might have missed it. Still wish there was a "Cassandra's Compass" consumable that pointed you to the closest foe. Would make vanquishing so much less painful. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 206.188.92.149 (talk) at 20:47, 26 July 2019 (UTC).
