This could pwn if...[edit]

u made a N/Me and combined this with Shatter Enchantment.--Sum Mesmer GuyUser sum mesmer guy signiture.png 09:44, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, looking at this skill initially it's not that great, however, it only needs minior changes (cast time, or damage increase) to push it into the limelight because prots like to use RoF and Guardian. Still too easily disposed of though. --Ckal Ktak 16:31, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm playing with the idea of having a N/Mo with Pain of Disenchantment, Scourge Healing and Scourge Enchantment and enchantment removal. The idea is that whenever a monk heals your target, he takes a good deal of damage and never manages to keep him healed for the damage that'd be inflicted when the enchantments cast are removed. The monk would inevitably continue to heal and damage himself in the process. --80.16.169.162 17:01, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Slight buff[edit]

The problem with this skill is that it's effect isn't worth the 2 second cast. It gets interrupted too easily to be worth the damage. So; this skill would probably see some use in the lower arenas & possibly the HA if it was changed to have a 1 second casting time as well as "health loss" instead of "damage", like Spoil Victor.

I'm not sure the health loss is really necessary. The big thing I see is things like PS stopping it, and if you're stripping it anyway, as long as damage is applied after the enchantment is removed it doesn't matter. Other than that, I agree. I just tried making a build around this, and while I caught a 55 griefer in RA with this and Gaze of Contempt (easily my favorite spike of all time, much /laughs were had), the skill's slow cast just doesn't make it practical to use. --SoraMitsukai 00:02, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Update[edit]

This seems like one of the best spike skills in the game now.ComfortOsprey 11:37, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Not really, you would need 5+(actually you would need like 15) enchantments on a single target to kill it.Spartiatai 13:24, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Still, now it can do the highest single skill damage (not counting Aneurysm on a +100energy ele), even if conditional. At 16 it does 318 damage total to the target and adjadent foes, and it's health loss, so it can't be protected against with Prot Spirit (as far as I know atleast). It'll be a real punisher to a monk when they just get their Prot Spirit, Spirit Bond and Guardian up, and then WHAM, all gone and almost all health gone. You know, that spawned a fun little idea..
|Pain of Disenchantment|Scourge Enchantment|Scourge Healing|Strip Enchantment|Rip Enchantment|Soul Barbs|Parasitic Bond|Resurrection Signet looks really fun, especially vs prot monks. -- IGN: Angelo Silverwolf
You're all wrong. Pain of disenchantment's health loss triggers once and once only, regardless of how many enchantments are removed. --Ckal Ktak 13:47, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Ah... but this would be a more than viable enchantment removal in hero battles. multi enchantment removal and spike in one skill. ~ 207.193.31.45 02:35, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

It's just an elite Strip Enchantment. I don't get what the big deal is.
It's something more like Shatter Enchantment on crack. But despite being much better than before, it's still not likely to be chosen over all the other crazy elites necros have. 69.40.251.148 21:39, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Removed note, any fucktard can read. 217.120.229.159 22:29, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Is the damage for EACH enchantment removed or IF an enchantment is removed? 75.155.112.20 16:26, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
The skill can remove up to 3 enchants, and if atleast one is removed then the lifesteal damage clause of the skill kicks in once, not for each enchantment removed. 129.116.43.45 03:30, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

I find that enchantment removal screws up more builds than Blindness to a large extent. For one, there's no counter to having your elite enchantment removed other than covering it with another, and this breaks that easily. Second, Blindness is somewhat anticipated. Bringing condition removal is always a wise move for those who need to attack, though nobody expects their sacred "Protect me, Jesus" enchantment to get broken, thus ruining a lot of build strategies. Though I can't help but wonder if enchantments could be better used against the opponent. Take a look at Avatar of Grenth for example. You could inflict a lot more than 100 damage if they can't block and they thought they would be able to. --Eyekwah 16:19, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

One of the best spiking skills in the game[edit]

Bye bye mass of prots, hello clean spiking. Napalm Flame 13:56, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

This is fucking rediculous 90.218.239.197 21:44, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Jade Quarry[edit]

Tired of those pesky N/A bombers?...me too. Briareus 09:12, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Erm... rend does the same thing (and possibly more), requires no spec, is half the energy cost of pod, and is non-elite. Why on earth would you take this, ever? -Auron 10:27, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
to kill them as they jump in without any enchantments on them and lol as they run away.--72.189.85.14 21:02, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
rend does damage to u. PoD to the foes, and much more. Rend has longer cast time. Rend has longer recharge time. Rend is UGLY. 95.119.27.224 12:36, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
I use this in Jade Quarry as well. The reason being, is that the N/A bombers put on three enchantments (usually), which are Contagion, Dark Aura, and Death Nova. You can remove all of them and deal the 100+ damage. Plus, now-a-days most N/A Jade Quarry bombers have become like Palm Strike Assassins not even checking for the brown down arrow signaling a condition. They just spam their spells in order and then wonder in awe why the NPCs at shrines and mines didn't die. Than 23:47, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
I resent that a bit... sure they continue thru their chain, but they didn't notice you because at that point in time they had everything and their dog on them... the good bombers will quickly work out what happened and either avoid you or spike other targets... You really dont need to strip too much off a bomber, the Quarrys have one or two shatter enchants cast as it is... jsut watchthat center NPC and heal him so he doesn't take the others down MrPaladin talk 18:32, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
I use this in Fort Aspenwood. It works pretty well because of the mass enchant stacking that happens when everyone is fighting around Gunther and the Juggernaut. Its also pretty efficient at killing the gates when on the Luxon side because the Ele's use Sliver Armor.69.114.229.120 04:29, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Ahh[edit]

Thought health loss was occurred for EACH enchantment remove. 62.45.131.236 08:21, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

same... 71.0.85.100 00:26, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Nope, just one enchant and POW, 100 dmg. Its basically an elite, AoE, multi-enchant Shatter Enchantment 72.195.159.161
With way better recharge and energy 95.119.27.224 12:13, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Plus it's health loos, not damage, so if the other foes have spirit bond or something it isnt triggered :)
do you realize that this owns spirit bond before it could do anything? ;D - Wuhy User Wuhy sig.jpg 18:22, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
reading comprehension is hard tbh. 90.206.126.205 15:48, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Notes?[edit]

Just thought maybe we should put in a note, that this spell removes the enchantment's first and then deals the damage. Basically so that people know this can kill a 55 monk, or something of that sort. Than 04:04, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Uh, no, it doesn't deal damage, it causes health loss. 141.14.133.231 13:25, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
And, it's pretty clear that that's the order in which it happens, since the health loss is conditional on the "lose the enchantment" portion. Freedom Bound 13:40, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
And as a late note: it´s not damage, it´s health loss... oh you mentoined that about 3 comments ago? my bad... health loss dude, HEALTH LOSS!!!!!!!! no need for a freaking note here if you aren´t utterly retuurded 84.145.227.46 01:08, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

Icon?[edit]

I always wondered, and I'm surprised no one mentioned it, isn't the icon reference to Terminator? http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/7430/term.png even the haircut looks same

Except that crouched over is a really common pose and the character is really obviously a female with long hair hanging over her shoulder, and even if we passed that over, has a haircut that looks **nothing like** the Terminator pic's. Also, please sign your comments. 70.92.246.13 18:25, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
