Talk:Parasitic Bond

Am I the only person who thinks that this skill's icon looks like a horse foetus? (The join between the skull and mandible is the leg and hoof, and the vertebrae make up its head and mane, swiling into a little embryo-tail). I can never decide if that was intentional or not. --Mme. Donelle 03:21, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Why does it end on caster's death?

It should stay on the target foe after caster's death.--Woop 05:47, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Its Parasitic, wich means that if the caster dies the parasite is gone and so is the negative effect.87.64.232.90 18:23, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

All hexes which also affect the caster in some way (like Insidious Parasite, Life Siphon) end when the caster dies. Sir Bertrand 18:38, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Otherwise when the Parasitic Bond would end, it would heal a dead person...and then the universe would implode. - Elder Angelus 18:41, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Divine Healing with dead party members? OH SHI- Paddymew 12:00, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
I think that in one of the early betas, the code for the skill was screwy and it ended when your character would die but wasn't actually dead, so it would heal him. Functioned like a hyper-short recharge Intervention :p The Boz 00:14, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Multiple Casters

I know that hexes don't "end" when you recast the hex before the duration is up... But what about another teammate? Say you have Soul Barbs on the enemy... I know that if you cast Parasitic Bond, it will trigger Soul Barbs. However, if you have not allowed Parasitic Bond to end and cast it again on the same foe, it will not trigger Soul Barbs. The thing is, if a teammate casts it before the duration is up, does Soul Barbs react or not? I'm thinking if you can spike identical hexes like Parasitic Bond or Icy Veins and trigger Soul Barbs each time, you'll have a really powerful spike... not to mention making it rather difficult to keep hexes off allies when they are reapplied almost instantly... 216.167.172.136 18:02, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

I just tested this, and I found that Soul Barbs will trigger if Parasitic Bond is recast on the enemy before it ends, regardless of whether it's cast by the original caster or a teammate. --Mme. Donelle 06:12, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Buff?

am i the only one who thinks this skill is almost worthless? -1 degen doesn't scare me at all. and as for healing, unless you strip off the hex yourself you can't control it, and it always seems to heal me at worthless times. if you did strip the hex your effectively using 2 skills to make a worthless bar.

i mean shrinking armor is -4 degen has a much more useful effect when it ends too. ok so its in another attribute, but even at attribute 0 i think i would rather take shrinking. i realize this is a cover, but there are better covers.

~mat~

With the 2 sec recharge this is a spreadable self healing skill that requires only high curses... Pretty sweet... just dont worry about the -1 degend unless your spreading other conditions and curses that only ammount to -9 instead of the -10 cap... ohh forgot to add, you get the healing when the target dies also... if I recallMrPaladin talk 16:52, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
I like it. One of the world's most basic cover hexes, too. The degen isn't much but it's there, and if you spam it on four things you're still doing an eventual 160 damage to a group as a secondary or tertiary effect, and giving monks more purple triangles to worry about ^_^. Chance of keeping NPC monks away from your actual target for a moment? *shrug*. If I were to buff it i'd just halve the casting time, since it should be really snappy :) --Star Weaver 18:06, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Healing

Do you get healed if the target dies, too? Or only if it ends? --Aldarik 00:09, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Never mind, didn't read the page all the way. --Aldarik 00:10, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
