Points for Title[edit]

My findings so far.

Beetle tonic = 2 points. Bottle rocket = 1 point. Squash Serum = 1 point. Snowman Summoner = 1 point. Sparkler = 1 point.

Sadie2k 20:09, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

I suggested this a long time ago to Gaile, about a year ago with the Poppers and whatnot. A lot of other people wanted it too, I'm just pissed off that I cheaply sold loads of my party items because I thought they weren't useful a couple months back. Calor (t) 20:11, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
yea i like how they add this title track after i just used like 800 snowman summoners and about the same amount of ghost in the boxes... ffs why not add it earlier.
Yuletide tonic = 2 points FirstSunspear 20:14, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Transmogifier Tonic = 2 points as well. Chiuna 20:14, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Some1 alredy has rank 2? 24.141.45.72 20:19, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
I wonder if there is a bug and the everlasting beetlejuice tonic gives it too, and you could get it for free (theoretically) you just have to click a lot. You don't need rank 2 to see it, just rank 1, which you could have easily got by now if you had a stockpile. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 20:20, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
[Edit conflict] No, it would mean som1 already has rank 1. Is the r2 title really sexy porn star? I removed it once as I presumed it was vandalism but it came back. I wont remove it again just in case it is true... which i doubt. FirstSunspear 20:23, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Gaile just confirmed (in shing jae) everlasting beetlejuice doesn't count. Sadie2k 20:22, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Can confirm that r2 is Life of the Party KaliCanaan
How many pts are needed for r2? Edit: nvm 20:28, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
I can't wait to see if this one maxes out too! That'd be pretty cool. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 20:54, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Annoying that Lunar Fortunes don't count for title. I have loads of them from last year. FirstSunspear 21:33, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Classic. I saw someone use about 100 snowman summoners at once yesterday. I bet he'll be rolling :)(Terra Xin 02:02, 7 February 2008 (UTC))
1,000 points is waaay to much -.-
A 10k max on this seems a little high doesn't it, especially at this point? Outside of special events is there anywhere to get a qualifying item other than one or two from completing the Snowmen dungeon? Sweet Tooth has more items and a year headstart. Clobimon Craiggy 21:00, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Haha! Hardly... titles that take forever to get like Legendary Defender of Ascalon or Survivor are much more difficult to get than this title. It's just a matter of... are you willing to do what it takes? I farm like crazy around LA for collectors items. 1,000 points means 4 stacks of scalps or 8 stacks of glowing hearts or 12 stacks of Orr Emblems. And for the life of me I can't figure out why people are crazily wanting to buy Orr Emblems more than any other collector item `\(O.o)/' Blood and Fyre 23:54, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Also, the very word "party" indicates something like an event that happens every once in a while. You can get other titles very much the same way as this one which makes this one "just another title". However, the fact that you can only normally acquire the items needed for this title during a "party" or event makes it all the more intriguing for those that are striving for the titles. Personally I like the idea. It gives me an edge because I used to farm to sell the stuff and now I can use it and get a nice new title. Blood and Fyre 00:02, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

And by Gay do you mean happy and frivolous or that somehow its involved in a same sex relationship? If you dont like it please use less bigotted terminology--Evil Geek 20:46, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Not gay imo, cursed :D Far from it! I love it, great new gold sink, thanks Anet. Yet I thought it wouldn't get introduced. it was already suggested long time ago, i'm glad we have it now. I don't worry, at least you can sell this staff better to other ppl than before if you don't want that title. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 22:15, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

on the contrary i think its a great title nice little title most players can get. only thing i hate is that i used all my party items just last month thinking i would never have a real use for them. nice timing anet. Tomostonepaw

Does this give points? :>[edit]

THAT would be evil. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 22:17, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

apparently not, though it would be a cheap(ish) way to max it, an owner could loan it to everyone he knew (if he trusted them) and get loads of people max titles lol. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 22:18, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
See discussion above (quoting: Gaile just confirmed (in shing jae) everlasting beetlejuice doesn't count.)--Fighterdoken 22:20, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I was a little concerned, too. In fact, I trotted down the hall in the middle of a visit with players when I thought "Oh, noes!" However, the designers were on top of it and there's no "Insta-Title" with the use of that potion. :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 07:26, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

max title?[edit]

Does this title count towards the max title track (people know me)? If so, it should be added to the people know me page. User Der moon sig.png Der moon 23:06, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

every other title does, would be odd if this one didn't... --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 23:12, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
I too believe it's maxable. But has it been confirmed, and more importantly, at what amount does it max out? -- Alaris_sig Alaris 17:26, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
It is maxed at the second tier. poke | talk 17:27, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

A New Gold Sink[edit]

One wonders how this will affect pricing on the items that contribute towards the title... I used to stockpile fireworks & such for guild parties and events, but I imagine I'll have to compete with folks driving up the prices just to max out this odd title. --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 23:19, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

I wonder if this is retroactive... Anyone know?129.1.193.82 23:53, 6 February 2008 (UTC)Trae

Not going by past precedent. Really hard to have it retroactive if there wasn't a counter in place to see how many you've used. --Valentein 23:54, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
It is 100% not retroactive. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 23:55, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
I would've loved this when I had my bunches of Snowman summoners.Too late now I guess. --Life Infusion «T» 02:51, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
It's only a gold sink if gold is taken out of play. In this case, the items cannot be bought by merchants, so it merely (if anything) increases trade between players. --BlueNovember 13:58, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]

The meaning to the phrase life of the party is a given... so I've removed the note. And MJ got the title of the song 'from' the clichè. :)(Terra Xin 02:02, 7 February 2008 (UTC))

Admiration[edit]

I was just wondering if a certain item gave Party Animal points and was firing up the game to go check when I thought "Hmmm, maybe somebody's put up a wiki page by now." Sure enough, page up, and point valued recorded. Thanks, guys! :) -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 07:27, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Gotta love those people that spend more time on wiki than on the game its based on, eh?--Ryudo 16:05, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Another title that Gaile the level 8 ranger can obtain :) I vaguely remember someone suggesting this in a Gaile Chat before. Looks like asking is worth it eh! :) --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 21:54, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Loads of people suggested it. I did too. Add another one soon to my HoM. Thanks ANet, CalorTalk 22:00, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

counter-productive title[edit]

This title stops the party. Everyone knows how people will party from now on: near the storage of their guild hall. I am also sure all people who used up their snowmen summoners and sparklers before are really *happy* about this title. One more title to the list of "silly titles that should not even exist". Now I might get God among Mortals, by just buying unid items and drinking, eating and being a party animal... no more need for chest running. Unless ANet adds another title to the track: r7 KOABD, Father/Mother of the Gods. And I so wished the title inflation would stop. Rather 1 title with some appeal than all of these hollow "activity" titles. --Longasc 18:37, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Bah, humbug. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 22:13, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Someone's a bit cranky. Maybe some players don't have the time to run around doing chest runs, or don't OWN certain campaigns and thusly their ability to access certain things to help them get certain titles is diminished (like not having NF and therefore no lack to treasure/do not open/buried treasure). Something for everyone to make the game more enjoyable for people of all kinds. It's not like you're required to get any title. It's a novelty thing. --Skogul 01:01, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
access to* not lack to, whoops. --Skogul 01:03, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

who cares? nobody forces you to get the title. one mans idea of useless grind is another mans idea of something new to work towards. Charr Axxxe Fiend 22:30, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Hey, party items stack, so there's no reason not to use them in a town.User Entrea Sumatae Sig.pngEntrea Sumatae [Talk] 03:48, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

The point is that when there are 30 titles total it means something if you max them all and get rank 6 KOBD. If there are 50 titles, then maxing 30 titles for (max) rank 6 KOBD isn't such a big achievement anymore. I myself am on 8k chest and 6k unID, but i am not going to bother with those anymore, because this weekend i will max lucky and will buy the max party pooper title (already on 1.5k). That will give me 30 max titles... So unless there is going to be a rank 7 KOBD i won't bother for others. Though for 35 max titles they would have to introduce like 3 or so more achievable titles. (yeah, i know, all titles are achievable, but some are just crazy to max and besides that, for old(er) chars, they can't max survivor or defender of ascalon. IMO, there should still be a 1 time reset of deaths in some way, not only for that reason, but also for people who errored and died, or who lost connection and died. 88.159.130.14 05:56, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Berry Hoodlum

My idea was that we get more and more titles that in my opinion totally violate the spirit of GW. Sweet Tooth, Drunkard, Party Animal, all the other so called "activity" titles reward totally stupid things. You can call them gold sinks or ebay titles or whatever, they are monotonous clicking or grinding. I am not sure if I should say "TY, ANet" for making it rather easy for me to get 30 titles (because NOW I do not have to hunt chests or max kurzick faction anymore). People who invested 200+ hours or more in the harder titles you needed till now to max KOABD might also feel a bit pissed. I will have it so much easier! And my first point stands, the party is over - people will hoard their items and use them up for themselves within minutes to max the title. I cannot stand the thought that I have to make sure only my "title hunter" uses the items at player parties. I will also never again give every person at a party who do not have sparklers some 20 of them for free. OK, I will stop crying now, I also will get over it... sigh. This does not change the fact that we really did not need one more of these silly titles that are flawed to the core. --Longasc 10:28, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
To max those titles, you either need to farm, or be an excellent and patient trader. Otherwise you will not get the money to afford them. So in my mind, they do count. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 16:09, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

They won't give a new title, because there's no more Ron Burgandy :D --Rella 08:41, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Unless rank 7 is "Ron Burgandy". --Mme. Donelle 02:37, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Rank 7 should be "Classier Than San Diego" or something. Calor Talk 02:47, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Man it bugs the crap out of me when people b$#^@& about this game. I have tried so many MMO's and I always come back to Guild Wars because it's the best game on the planet. I love all of the fun titles. They are a reward for being silly, JUST to be silly. Some people don't know how to do that, and thats ok. But don't be a grouch to people who do! There are still many titles that are hard to achieve, and thats great! I'm still working on many of them. All I have to say is, you should learn the phrase: "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all." -- RavenJWolfe User RavenJWolfe Icon4sig.png 15:46, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

No rank 7 in KoaBD track pls. Maxing 30 gives you some choices about which titles to max out. Plus, it's already a LOT of work getting to 30 maxed titles. Having to max 35 would require more titles to be added to keep that flexibility. Thx, and great game. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 16:11, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Explorable Areas[edit]

I just did the The Big Bang quest for the festival and received no points for the Bottle Rockets and Champagne Poppers that I used to scare off the Nian. Perhaps you don't receive points while in explorable areas or maybe you need other people with you (I was alone for that quest)? -- BroodlingUser Broodling67 sig.PNG 02:58, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

I also didn't get points and was alone, however Gaile mentioned something in her gaile chat today that implies it is a bug they are fixing, but currently I agree you do not get points in explorable areas. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 03:05, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
You *do* get points in explorable, just not when doing said quest. Erszebet 11:07, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Double points[edit]

Just a heads-up, Anet added a new skill in the updates (not sure which one) called Party Time! (#2712). Here's the description:

"Party Bonus. Excellent! For 0 seconds, you gain double points towards the Party Animal title track when using festive items."

--67.159.44.138 06:59, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Perhaps he dug it out of the .dat? -- BroodlingUser Broodling67 sig.PNG 15:54, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
I'm curious where one could get this...maybe its automatically included in items that give two points? but no, that wouldn't make sense...and making such a blessing in general wouldn't as well...if you can click fast enough that would cause maxing the title costs half the money...presumed you've got the blessing. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 19:47, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
If this blessing does exist it could be part of the finale for the Canthan new year, perhaps the celestial rat will need dinner and a show and it will provide double points for those putting on the show. If thats the case, I can't wait for the ensuing lag that would be caused by hundreds of sparklers, bottle rockets and Snowman summoners going off. -- BroodlingUser Broodling67 sig.PNG 03:00, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
...hundreds... per person. --24.179.151.252 03:16, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

I agree, this must be what Gaile meant, but I haven't seen this during the first event finale. Zophar 09:14, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
IF this party time exists, it has not shown up in any of the finals so far. Besides that, I am already quite annoyed to have wasted thousands of party items before, no need to make me feel even dumber. --Longasc 15:46, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
We also killed a lot of monsters without Faction rewards. So don't feel down. What matters is now. Hm... the best chances are wither an event effect triggered when an NPC makes something (like the Mad King Thorn) or an item effect trigered by some items only dropping during certain events. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 05:17, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
I'm thinking it's somethig that might be introduced with GW's 3rd anniversary. Either that, or during a special weekend event. Surely it will have something to do with celebrating something. I can't wait to use all my fireworks :) An item dropped during such an event, as mentioned above, also makes a lot of sense. Zophar 13:01, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Can someone confirm that the date in this article for when the title was pushed live is accurate? I thought the grind to acquire the stuff was bad, but consuming them is mind-numbing. Maybe if I can teach my cat to point-and-click...The Duke of Silence 15:03, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

Speeding it up a little[edit]

When using Tonics, if you are quick enough, you can use two at once. Just have to click really fast. This is useful for spamming tonics for the title. Sorry if this has been said already somewhere. User Tytan Crow Crow.jpg Titan Crow 00:04, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

Added: I have even been able to get three at once. Im using the Frosty Tonics BTW. I have 1000+ to go through so this will half or even third the time it will take which is quite an improvement. User Tytan Crow Crow.jpg Titan Crow 00:11, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
I have also found a way to use candy canes pertty quickly but as Im not sure if this has already been documented, I'll leave of explaining for now. User Tytan Crow Crow.jpg Titan Crow 01:31, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
The connected outposts thing is stupid. When I tried it I had to walk back to the portal after turning my toon around. The fastest methods are probably zone changing in very small towns (Ive used port sledge, am/int) and guild hall/small outpost (same button enters/leaves gh). Ive never been able to do a tripple tonic use (even tried setting up a mouse button for double click aka = 4 tonics, but only got 2) but doubles are very easy and you will hit them 9/10 times or better. Basically you can get 4pts towards party animal every time you enter a town which is worlds better then drunkard. Gotta love 40g/pt. Justice 00:01, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
i was going to post this thinking i found this first, but noticed Titan posted days before me. also, i gave up on walking back and forth between Tombs and Dragon's Lair because it took much too long. a co-worker told me to open the Guild window, hit the Guild Hall button, use tonic, hit the Leave Guild Hall button, use tonic, wash, rinse, repeat. as i don't belong to an alliance, i'm not sure how much faster it is to travel between GHs or if it takes the same amount of time. TLSH: This method plus spam-clicking the tonic to use 2 at a time worked fairly fast. I'm going to grab a fresh stack of Frosty Tonics and time how long it takes to run thru the stack, then report back when i'm done.180.7.25.222 14:40, 20 January 2011 (UTC)Ryoko
Well i finished my stack of Frosties. Unfortunately, my low-end laptop objected to so much spam-clicking so it locked up on me and required a hard reboot. my stopwatch time to blow through a whole stack is a little contaminated so i won't even bother posting it. however, i can report that it takes exactly 5 seconds per 2 tonics once you get in a routine using the GH button method in conjunction with Titan's spam-clicking method. doing the math, this works out to just over 10 minutes per stack of explorable-area-only tonics. btw, i never once was as lucky as Titan was--i never got a triple use in one spam-click. anyway, with 10 minutes per stack, it should take me about an hour to run thru my remaining stacks of tonics, which will put me within 900pts or so of FINALLY getting that stupid max title lol. oh yeah, thanks for taking the time to read!180.7.25.222 15:13, 20 January 2011 (UTC)Ryoko
