SOMETHING is definantly wrong with this page.....[edit]

whats going on with this page? its like completely messed up, the navigation stuff and links at the top are all messed up, idk how to fix it but I would if I could--The Forsaken One 00:50, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Okay, that seems to have fixed it. Seems that the {{anomaly}} template doesn't like being part of a bulleted list. -- Hong 01:04, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

I don't know about anyone else but the part in the anomaly "but there isn't anyone visible actually" didn't make sense to me so i changed it. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 125.236.133.197 (talk • contribs) at 03:13, 2 June 2008 (UTC).

Changed minimum number of foes to vanquish to 152 cause that's what I just got. -- Nox Coma 18:04, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

I just had to kill 220 foes to vanquish the area (no quests were active). Changed the maximum to reflect this.. *sigh* 216.145.192.6 19:51, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Don't pop-up monsters / tamable animals add to the count but not complete it? I had noticed it when vanquishing where there were a lot of tamable pets that got killed during AoE spells. Also, I completed a vanquish, but pop-up monsters will still available. --Thrashed 19:58, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Collector Nicanor Gannel[edit]

Nicanor Gannel (Collector for 3 Scorched Lodestones), missing ??? In vanquish mode the spot on the map exists for that collector, but it's missing.. --Dark Magic Lady 08:00, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

I noticed that also, but I think he was killed by devourers.. :( -/- Discuss 21:46, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
I was out last night checking on the spawning of Nicanor and the Traveller and noting mobs and crater spawns. The crater spawn itself does not seem to effect the collector. There is a mob of storm riders that spawned in the general area of the collector 6 times in 13 checks. When the mob was present, the collector was not. When the collector was present, the mob was not. (Perhaps he knows better than to be around when the riders are there - joke) In all cases Nicolas the Traveller was present when the collector was and absent when he was. Vanquish[edit]

I was a w/mo (poor choice anymore). I used asuran summons and pain inverter. I brought a n/rt spirit spammer, an aura of the lich mm and a n/mo heal/prot. This wasnt too bad of a vq. I didnt need a con set. It was a little slow at times as the grawl healers use healing hands and heal area. Micro 04:45, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Its possible to Vanquish as a 55, its a good farming area as well, I ended up with a hefty amount of golds. [[1]] -/- Discuss 21:45, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Lol at w/mo...no grawl in this zone, probably eastern fronteir or regeant valley. 155 foes/48min vanq. No monks/healing here. Just be wary of Panic, stone elementals aoe and popups, several large ones and sometimes they popup near other foes. Justice 23:01, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

I noticed today while vqing, that the storm riders were hostile towards devourers, which was very convenient having them waste panic on the devourers rather than me & my heros Raijjn 16:30, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

163 foes, 44 minutes (using a 6 hero caravan from Yak's). Nothing tricky to this one, I didn't have to search at all. Zenyatta (talk) 01:38, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

169 foes, 38 minutes. AoTL MM, Illusions/Ineptitude Mes & PoD/Healer. Not the most optimal setup. "Stone Elementals" - Earth Mages are the most dangerous enemies in this zone casting both Earthquake and Eruption. Anti-Caster & Pain Inverter make quick work of them. It can be easy to miss them amongst the Hulking Stone Elementals (Warriors). I got the gargoyle variant of the zone which seems to be one of the easiest.--LunarRXA (talk) 09:39, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

3 Different Spawns Observed[edit]

I noted in extensive farming for stormy eyes for Wintersday and again during the Nick gifts week that there are 3 primary spawns for this area that vary inhabitants and creature count quite a bit. Storm Rider Spawn - A large number of storm riders inhabit the crater. They primarily move in a counterclockwise fashion around the center except for one group in the southwestern part that patrols around a single crevasse arm. Singed Elemental Spawn - The crater contains patrols of singed elementals instead of storm riders. Gargoyle Spawn - The crater has gargoyles instead of storm riders or elementals and devourer pop ups seem to be reduced in the crater. It would take much more observation to determine the rate of the Elemental and Gargoyle spawns but my rough numbers show that you get storm riders 8 out of 10, Elementals or Gargoyles roughly 1 in 10 each. I noted the variances using a Proph W that has completed all quests that effect the area. -- Ed Stargazer The preceding unsigned comment was added by 99.69.171.135 (talk • contribs) at 13:01, 25 January 2011 (UTC).

Nice work! Did you notice any correlation between these 3 variations and whether Nick and the permanent collector appear? (It seems that some people have had trouble finding them.)  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:17, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
A friend of mine believes the distribution is closer to 70% riders, 20% gargoyles. They also believe that you can tell whether you have a rider spawn as you exit Serenity Temple and can rezone accordingly.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:45, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I did most of my farming in the weeks before Wintersday so Nick was never an issue then. I also only had a rough idea on the spawn rates for each as I had not kept a solid track of numbers. I had noticed that the first large mob of elementals in the western exit to the crater near Serenity Temple does change slightly based on the spawn. As with my earlier statement it needs more research for conclusive proof. - Ed Stargazer The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.91.27.59 (talk • contribs) at 17:54, 25 January 2011 (UTC).

Nick unavailable and devourer spawns affected[edit]

Noted this when one of my characters still had the hungry devourer quest active after a previous week. Confirmed that Nick didn't appear and devourers didn't spawn the same until after dropping the quest. Definitely seems to affect spawns here if anyone else would like to confirm and then update the main page? Darius Shalnin 21:36, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

More Spawn Research Required[edit]

In normal mode, with all area quests completed, every spawn when entering from Serenity Temple was elementals and gargoyles. (5-6x) I then exited to Eastern Frontier then re-entered. Spawn this time was riders and devourers. Repeated, but when exiting from Eastern this time was eles and goyles again  :( Unknown spawn mechanic. 20/12/11~>H2L
