How much do they sell for? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.181.110.113 (talk • contribs) at 00:32, 28 May 2008 (UTC).

Randomly appeard in my inventory?[edit]

We did a DoA run, goal was those gems. whe never got passed the first thing though but still there were several who had gotten a remnant in our inventory. is this normal? DBZVelena | (Talk page) User DBZVelena sig.jpg 00:48, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Yep.--Tyri Sunbeam 06:29, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Some friends and I were in City yesterday as the third section in a partial run, and when we got the message "The path to Stygian Veil has been opened," I got one. The reason I noticed was because my inv was full so it dropped on the ground. This was before we had killed Jadoth, much less opened his chest. One of my teammates also realized he got one while we were still fighting the last group of enemies before Jadoth. 67.246.60.56 12:03, 8 April 2014 (UTC)

Reduced Drops[edit]

"The more heroes you clothe in Primeval Armor, the less a chance of you receiving another remnant." Does this really happen? How could someone test? And is it for each hero in your party or otherwise? - Byakko User Page 20:21, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

And does this mean that if I don't actually use the ones I get on my heroes, I won't get reduced drops? I'm thinking this may be wrong...71.240.50.251 01:06, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, seriously think that's false info. Aro 10:17, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
I could be true because all my heroes have primeval armor and I seem to never get armor remnants anymore141.225.76.100
I wouldn't even be too certain it takes CLOTHING the heroes in it. I got 4 Remnants yesterday, and today I only got 2. Possibly just a statistical fluke, but still... guess another run tomorrow will tell me. 99.241.34.49 01:43, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
I think it could be genuine, the reason I come to this conclusion is because on one character I have no heroes clothed in any armor, on that character I receive 2-3 remnants consistently per run. On another character which has 4 heroes clothed in primeval I received 0-1 remnant. This isn't just on one run, but over many runs consistently. The Time Less One 14:37, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
I seriously doubt it has anything to do with putting them on your heroes, but the number you've had dropped for you. Just like with the other Hero armors in NF, once you've gotten around 4 of them, they scale down significantly. (Usaf1a8xx 18:11, 21 August 2010 (UTC))
tbh, i have noticed reduced drops, but linked to activity not clothing the heroes. basically my main is mesmer, and i clothed all heroes there, but i prefer to play doa with my monk. in the beginning i noticed that a lot of remnants were dropping, but as time went by, after 4 fullruns including mallyx were dropping nothing. i think it's something linked per account. could ayone confirm same thing happening? -- Pixy | Talk User pixy hand.png 07:46, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
I have almost all heroes on 4 characters upped with primeval armor remnants, and since then i haven't gotten any of these. Demonic Fahrir talk
i dont knownif this is true but i thought that there whas a maximum limit of getting those things so that they just stop dropping. Anyone?Thearcherofchaos
Near as I can tell, anyone who has systematically collected drop rate data has determined that there is no correlation between drop rates and the number of heroes upgraded, or the number of drops received. Also: there's no evidence that there's a maximum number. There aren't that many foes that drop them and the drop rate is somewhat low, so it's not that surprising that drought periods of zero drops will occur; this will be more noticeable to those who play a lot, so it's also unsurprising that it appears linked to how many heroes have elite armor. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 09:26, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Drop rate[edit]

Soo, I'm fairly confident that the drop rate decreases for characters that farm doa a lot. It might actually be tide to your lightbearer title. When my Rit started farming, I'd get 1 to 2 drops a run. Now, 16 armbraces later and a maxed title, I have not gotten a single one since armbrace number 5. That's a long time with no drops. I recently started farming it with my Mes and war and they are both getting drops each run, but the Rit continues not to. --Moto Saxon 13:50, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

I'm not saying that it's impossible that ANet has made drop rates for armor remnants work differently from drop rates for anything else. But (a) it seems unlikely and (b) we'd need a lot more evidence than from just a single person (even though you have farmed a lot). – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:04, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Tennessee is 100% wrong. Drops of these DEFINITELY stop after a certain point, though the exact mechanism is unclear. I have farmed DoA about 200 times in a row without a drop. My wife joined in a party the last time - she never farms DoA and she got 2 from out first boss / chest. This is the same thing reported by others, it is not just ONE person saying it. The drop rate clearly goes down a LOT (possibly to 0, possibly not) if you farm DoA too much.

I did a run last night on DoA and got 3 Primeval Armors, so i believe its solid random luck. They could've changed the drop rate, however I believe random luck. June 26 2012

I recently decided to try out DOA with 7 heroes for the HoM, like some of the guys above, I do also notice the reduce in drops. My own data : 1st full clear I got 3 drops, 2nd also 3 drops, 3nd & 4th 2 drops each, 5th & 6th 1 drop each, as for the 7th 0 drop. I got what I needed, no going to go for the 8th times... 220.255.2.28 16:06, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
