"radiation makes me a saaaad panda" rofl idk why but thats the first thing that popped in my head --Tenshi Strife 08:45, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Any info on the effect? Like All neerby foes for X seconds suffer from radiaton sickness losing health over time =) ? Biz 15:28, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Hex. Target foe and all nearby foes are doused with lethal radiation, taking 15...40 damage per second for 5 seconds. When this hex ends, target foe acquires cancer and explodes 15...5 seconds afterwards. If you are not wearing a radiation suit when casting this spell, there is a 40...10% chance you will get cancer as well. File:Esig2.jpg Eldin 18:03, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Asura Rank 2: -3 health degeneration and 10 seconds diseased. 84.136.221.220 12:37, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

This skill actually makes a well at your location :o --Lou-SaydusUser Lou-Saydus Hail Storm.jpg 22:24, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
the Note is stupid The preceding unsigned comment was added by 87.189.221.118 (talk • contribs) 14:16, 11 December 2007 (UTC).
Agree, and removed. There are too many possibilities to warrant disease to be mentioned like this. -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 18:10, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

I disagree, i didn't knew how much pip disease inflicted for a long time, same for the cap at 10. And I found interesting that this single spell alone can provide the ten pips. I don't talk about combinations like poison and i don't what else. this spell alone can provide the max.

disliking this note is stupid, to use the most valuable argument i saw against the note, to defend it.

If you don't want to give informations to inexperimented players because you already know it or find obvious is despicable. lussh 18:17, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

If you are going to add this little piece of information, then you should add ALL possibilities. Either ALL or none. Do you see any other skill pages that have similar comments? Why don't you then also add a similar comment to Burning Arrow about that skill + poison?
As for your despicable comment, just shut up please. There are plenty of ways for ANY player, experienced or otherwise to read up on how the health degeneration mechanic works, and the link to health degeneration is just that. If people are too ignorant to read a little bit more on the matter, then why should we make this skill the only one to mention this information?
I won't revert you adding it back, but I am going to put this talk page on GWW:RFC to get consensus on this matter. -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 18:30, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
(edit)Take it off in my opinion. If someone wants to know how many pips Disease degnerates, they can look at Disease via the link on the page. You can also easily see how many pips the skill degenerates and do a quick sum. We have links for a reason.
Also, Liche/Lussh, using it is stupid or disliking it is stupid for a reason for not liking the note is stupid. Someone can have a view on one thing and not on another. While I agree that it may be useful to have it as a note, it is not worth repeating it on every page (or similiarly, having it on only one page which is only slightly related to health degeneration). We have the articles of each condition and hex to show how much degen they do, and health degeneration to show the caps of it. -- Brains12Talk 18:43, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

you didn't understood, i made this note because this spell can do it alone. You don't need anything else to provide what you find obvious but is not : the max health degen. lussh 18:37, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

You didn't see me referring to Burning Arrow + poison? Of course I understand what you try to say, I just disagree. -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 18:42, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

burning arrow + poison means two skills radiation field + disease means only radiation field so no i don't understand, and don't ask me to shut up because i used the same argument as someone with the same opinion as yours lussh 18:45, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Disease is only applied after the well has ended, which, to me, means you need to use the skill a second time to get the max degeneration. Which is basically the same as using two skills. That's why I think the note isn't needed. - anja talk 18:47, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

it don't need two slots u_u lussh 18:48, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

(Edit conflict) Radiation field + disease means Radiation Field and Disease. You need one and the other, same as Burning Arrow and Poison. One is a skill, the other a condition only. But both require skills to apply the condition, both require at least two types of degen to meet the 10 cap. -- Brains12Talk 18:49, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

that only this skill gives both. i'm tired lussh 18:50, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I have not read the skill description properly. My last point - the degen ends before the disease comes into effect. Therefore, you can't use them both at the same time. That's me out, sorry for contradictions and whatnot. -- Brains12Talk 18:51, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
I have to agree with lichelusshy. The disease applies at the end of the "radiation" but you can reapply "the same skill" and have both effect combined. Then, I would like to have the note, however I do think the current note is not clear since does not explain that. (I fixed it) -- Coran Ironclaw 20:47, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Let's do that, and then link it to a page labeled DUH!!! Let's also put a note on Life Siphon that at rank 64 in Blood Magic it can put -10 degeneration on a target with only 1 skill!! Invincible Rogue 19:45, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Sure, if you can show me your necro with 64 on blood magic. -- Coran Ironclaw 21:23, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
My necro has 64 in everything Invincible Rogue 23:14, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

""note was pointless, liche/lussh also broke 1rr so they can not revert this again"".

I don't care about your only own personnal opinion. first the page is not the same, it's not a revert war, and before that, i think about people who may need informations they don't know, not your self image and what you find obvious, you're not the only truth, thanks to not act for yourself estime but for helping people who may not know all what you know nest time lussh 20:39, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Honestly, how does someone get rank 10 asura and not know that 4 + 6 = ten? Invincible Rogue 01:31, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
liche is right, 4+6 is 10. however its only like 5 seconds the full degen is active, noteworthy? i dont think so --Cursed Angel talk 01:39, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
Don't underestimate the power of Ursan, Invinci Rogue. Eth 18:21, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Skill description incorrect?
After testing at the master of damage, it turned out that the skill description is not correct. I used a mesmer with signet of illusions to simulate the various Asura ranks. Since the master directly passes the disease back to you, you are able to calculate the duration of the disease by the overall damage you take. The duration of the disease is correct in the skill description, however it seems as if the duration of the health degeneration is also bound to the Asura rank and not always 5 seconds. According to my testing results, the skill description should be:
"For 2...6 seconds, foes in the area have -2...6 Health degeneration. When the portal ends, foes in the area are Diseased for 8...20 seconds."--79.211.101.223 10:15, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Note[edit]

Says Corrupt Enchantment and Life Transfer causes max health degen. That's wrong. Removing and looking on other pages to see if it's similar 72.222.217.198 15:57, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Well, those 2 can get to 10 pips of degen if they're in PvE and can get to attributes 19/20. --JonTheMon 16:06, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
The note is wrong, like said above, both Corrupt Enchantment and Life Transfer can cause max degen. Also, I would like to point out that the Illusion of Pain page doesn't share the same note as this page, even though it is wrong. Eive_Windgrace 20:59, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

At 19 Illusion, Crippling Anguish can hit max degen as well --User:akujin

Ward Effect[edit]

I've noticed that when cast, this spell evokes the graphic used in well spells, not ward spells, as the description clearly states this is. Should this be added as an anomaly? 71.188.252.195 00:32, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

It seems that they've combined the two together. You get the little Ward outline with the motes of light around the edges, plus the well animation.--Sageofprofession 07:09, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

SF Bypass?[edit]

Is it possible to bypass SF (ie Doppleganger in Augry Rock using SF perma) using this skill? --Sageofprofession 07:09, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Uhh yea, pretty much every PBaoe, touch skill and signet bypasses SF, even pre-nerf Atomisk 01:58, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
A bit late, but the doppleganger can't use PvE skills. Eive_Windgrace 20:59, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Note edit[edit]

Added "There is an Asuran racial skill in Guild Wars 2 with this name." to notes section. If someone would add the link to that. I can't cuz I'm on a mobile browser but thought this needed to be added.

Stacked?[edit]

If two or three people use it does it stack? (Goodbye Glaive Farmers!) --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.158.173.202 (talk).

I doubt it. Wards don't stack. However, you could chain it between three people so that it always stays up. –~=Ϛρѧякγ AHHH! (τѧιк) ←♥– 18:48, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
and -10 degen on DoA animals is like.. slow.--NeilUser Neil2250 sig icon6.png 18:58, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
not if it stacked :P (though It can't be more then -10 or -9 or IDK anymore :P) --Dragon7 cape emblem.pngThe Holy Dragons 19:44, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

overlapping[edit]

Wouldn't this actually be a bug or anomaly, since Well of Silence and Well of Suffering don't work the same way? For that matter, no other ward or well spell in the game stacks with multiple copies active.

In any case, I don't see how it's noteworthy otherwise. To achieve the -10 degeneration, you either need two humans with sufficient rank to bring this skill and coordinate it (improbable), or one person chaining it with Echo or something (terrible build). Regardless, it's kind of like the note on Illusion of Pain. Of course it causes -10 degeneration at 14 Illusion magic - the progression chart says so right above. It just seems too obvious to bother mentioning to me. 67.180.237.90 17:46, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

its kinda rare so maybe noteworthy, like it says it's hard to get -10 degen from one skill, and since the portal degen stacks with the disease degen it caps out at r8 as long as things are still diseased when you recast, even though degen is slow I think its interesting trivia 24.130.140.36 18:42, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
also I thought ward melee stacked? 24.130.140.36 18:59, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
Wards don't stack; the disease from the first Radiation Field stacks with the pure degeneration from the second. There's no need for anything fancy like Echo. Degeneration is occasionally useful in farming builds, and Radiation Field is one of only two skills that can cause 10 pips without consumables. --Irgendwer 20:46, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
