Relic runners[edit]

I don't think the fact that this applies mostly to relic runners (not even sure the majority of people know what they are) is true. I removed it once but it was re-added. Opinions? To me, it's a general concept caused my latency, and is not that specific. Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 13:54, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

I agree. I have been playing GW for nearly 3 years off and on and I have never been a runner nor have I ever even heard of a relic run. Since beating all the campaigns I've never wanted to beat them all over again with different characters, but instead became a farmer. I haven't experienced this effect very much playing through missions and quests, although I have from time to time. However, I know all too well what frustration it is to think you've ran past those two Bladed Aatxes only to find yourself all of the sudden dead at their feet. To my experience this does tend to happen with network lag, yes, but you cannot rubberband if there is nothing to hold you. This seems to only happen when you run past enemies and brush them. By enemies I mean more than one as this is a rare event for me with only one or two. It seems with greater numbers comes a greater chance to rubberband. This very best remedy for this is avoid close contact that would cause it. If you do come too close and you know at that point its a 50/50 whether or not you are truly where you see yourself then you should try and treat the situation as if you are really stuck. I find that most of the time I think I am then I really am. And this doesn't just happen with enemies. It can happen with NPCs as well. Max2562 03:46, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

underworld[edit]

can we add it as a fact that whenever you enter the UW this glitch happens regardless of your superfast broadband and double digit ping? this is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FREAKING ANOOOOYYYYYYYYYYINGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Invincible Rogue 18:05, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

doesn't happen to me. Rubberbanding can happen anywhere even if you have the best connection in the world. I get this because I move with WASD and get bodyblocked. This causes the client to show incorrect information, while the server thinks you're blocked in. 82.34.128.95 16:55, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

My remedy[edit]

C + Spacebar. Works like a charm for me. Ezekial Riddle 06:43, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

A solution[edit]

I know another solution. Usually when I'm in combat (and im also a warrior) but there's a melee ranged fighter, and its attacking me, i auto attack (by pressing space) and then i "teleport" back. --Warnlord 23:49, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

I know another solution. Usually when I'm near the supermarket (and im also a human) but there's a problem, and its making me see things unclearly, i auto move (by walking) and then i "teleport" back into the optometrist's. BTW, just in case you are too blind to notice what I am refering to, someone already posted that solution JUST above you. And it's never too late to seek aid for your eyes. Rubber band abuse[edit]

U know, using rubberband can also be abused to get past certain mobs by self dcing after rubber band, reload, client attempts to sync, 50% chance of loading where u think u should be mob free.

that wouldn't make any sense.. since the server is the one who saves your position.. Vizer 15:27, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
