Sealed Entry - how to get in[edit]

I today did this the second time in a devourer hm-farm party, and again, the gate was closed (we wanted to vanquish the area). One of us noted that you can get inside if you use dismount near a gate. So we got in and vanquished the rest without devourers. (However, we noted at the end that you can also get the devourer in). That makes 455 Foes in total. I can also confirm this with a screen if you want. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 22:00, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

No, that should be fine. You'd only need to provide proof from the # of foes if someone specifically disagrees with you. Keep in mind, the number varys each time you go into the area.--§ Eloc § 22:44, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
Yes, this varies depending on the quests active in the quest logs of the party members... —ZerphatalkThe Improver 19:30, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
And there a different spawn sets each time. The same number of monsters are not always there. That's why at runs to Droks, people are always complaining about bad spawns and stuff.--§ Eloc § 03:08, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

I too encountered closed gates I completed assault a Long time ago (69.137.69.71 21:07, 16 September 2008 (UTC))

The devoured hack still works as of Jan 2010. Got in with a party of 6 humans and vanquished the area.

Unable to get the devourer hack to work, Feb 2020

Pre Searing[edit]

This area reminds me so much of pre searing ascalon.

The elementals, the grawl, even the bees! (When you have to carry the honeycomb over the bridge)

It's cool.--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:98.204.100.5 (talk).

Agreed. — Eloc 19:44, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

More points?[edit]

Do you get more points for farming this area when Forbidden Fruit and/or Single Ugly Grawl Seeks Same for Mindless Destruction in Ascalon is active? What combination of quest gives the most points? --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 18:06, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Missing Quest?[edit]

There isn't a quest section? Something is definitely wrong with this, I know of at least 3 quests in this area. Please state any other input here so we can figure this out before adding it in.--MxBadBoy 00:27, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

I went ahead and added the quests. I'm not familiar with the current formatting, so someone who is should clean it up. Tedium 07:15, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Forest inferno[edit]

From a lore standpoint, is there an explanation to the fire in the forest? Or is the presence of the Burning spirits enough to justify it? --talk Large 03:21, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

A great big titan in the forest is the subject of one quest, he is on fire and probably began the forest fire. | 72 User Seventy two Truly Random.jpg {U|T|C} 23:35, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Weird[edit]

Ok so we where vq this area and we killed all, even some quest some1 had active and we find the last foe.we searched for ages. Turns out there is a raven non hostile on top of a rock. We killed it and we where suddenly done. Force

cool story. MAFARAXAS 05:11, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Vael[edit]

How do i find Vael to get those damn quests from him.... i cant find him anywhere. 96.47.121.175 08:23, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Vanqing[edit]

449 effing foes, 2hr 29min (2hr 55min to vanq/map, no idea where 26min was spent just running around the map...) H/h. The burning forest kinda sucks but theres like no healing there and daze owns it easy enough (used fevered dreams). Fozzy and his gang was a whore to kill. Three things to be prepared for. Hard hitting ele (most is slow casting stuff), Healing (fast casting stuff/lots of condition removal) and Melee (alot of hammer warriors). Despite grawls using rediculously effective condition removal I still think Daze/Blind is the way to go. I took Jora as frontline and I didnt regret it one bit. Flag her way out front and set her to Attack and then nuke the foes that gather around her. Justice 04:26, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

Actually, the warrior grawl boss wasn't bad if you could body-block all the hammering grawls away from the casters, and Fozzy's group can actually be picked apart one by one if you use a longbow, flag your heroes back, and have NO frontline. 24.67.200.220 03:14, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
I h/h VQ'd it on a whim with a half-assed team I threw together. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Key tip here that I used: Use terrain to your advantage in EVERY fight. There are enough outcroppings and hills here your backline should never get hit with anything other than spells and such (assuming the tank is doing his/her job appropriately). As for the grawl boss, save the devourer for his group and he goes down in about 20 seconds without breaking a sweat. The key is to pull out as many melee as you can first and erase them. I just wandered aimlessly, since I was originally there to map anyway, so I don't know the best route to take. Just take my word on it and save the devourer (if you plan to use it) for the grawl boss at least. Happy VQing! Nay the One and Only User Nay the One and Only SIG.jpg 02:37, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
Do people really go out "just to map" in hard mode? I for one do not as it seems quite silly to do so when you can "just map" faster in nm mode. 174.17.5.167 17:51, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
People map in HM because you cannot vanq in NM. If the map is clear then why not explore it at the same time thus killing two titles? Besides, your likely to kill foes even in NM maping and if your r8 or higher why not get a few rep points? I did elite skill caps in HM. Justice 07:58, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Something needed[edit]

There needs to be a big bold note somewhere on the page stating that you cannot vanquish the area if someone has those quests or did not finish Assault. I was just in a group where we VQed the whole area and only just realized we were screwed when we faced the stronghold. The person did not own up to their mistake, so we all rage quit. Some people can be extremely selfish sometimes.... --Lustre Of Havoc 19:45, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Agreed... same damn thing just happened to me and my pug

Siege Devourer[edit]

I'm in the process of VQ'ing this area, as I headed in to the worm-field from the north-west I noticed a hostile siege devourer heading my way, I dispatched it's rider and left it as a spare. It's the first time I've ever seen it, is this a new spawn? I have the Zaishen VQ for Sacnoth active as well as the Zaishen Bounty for Bogoff Blister-arse or whatever the burny chap is. Is this a new addition? Can anyone confirm? I have screens if needed. Better get on and finish VQ'ing before I get a random DC : / Spax 22:48, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

Been there for a long while. -- Konig/talk 23:04, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Is it an occasional spawn? When I was farming Grawl Necklaces for honeycombs around Christmas it wasn't present despite many instances. Should it be added to the Foes list? Spax 00:02, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
The siege devourer here only spawns in hm --Vesmir 03:54, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Mounting Seige Devourer Anomaly[edit]

Has anyone else encountered this....
I was attacking The Grawl boss group with the Seige devourer in HM and got wiped. When I reurrected I was still on the seige devourer but with my skill set. :)
I have screen shots but dont know how to post them here, not even sure that this is where to post them. I just thought you guys would be interested in it as I haven't seen any thing like that listed here. Also this is the first time I've posted so I'm not sure how to sign this so any help would be appreciated. 166.191.190.194 23:31, 22 April 2012 (UTC) (Sashu toon)
