[edit] Skill Tweaks 07/26/07

  • Shrinking Armor: 10r -> 8r
  • Please discuss skill change here. ~Izzy @-'---- 23:37, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
wow, i think this in combination with 'images of remorse' is a little overpowered. 10 energy for -6 degen for 10 seconds, and a nasty condition. Hmmm i guess the short duration is the balancing mechanism. Point is, this is just another very cheap cover hex that will be used to hide much more effective hexes like 'calculated risk'. I like that illusion magic is being buffed into viability but with hexes having caused such a huge comotion this year i hope you can forgive my concerns.87.194.81.41 01:26, 27 July 2007 (UTC) Lorekeeper
It's so hard to give feedback on this, because many of us don't even know how Cracked Armor is going to effect the game. But right now I'm inclined to agree with Lorekeeper. --Redfeather 14:37, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Images of remorse making it powerful! ha! try drain delusions, then you have problems for warriors. This skill will make a HUGE impact on the metagame, I'm allready thinking its heading for a nerf.
It has 2 seconds less recharge than Shell Shock. And unless you use another slot to bring a shatter, the cracked armor is not applied quickly at all unlike Shell Shock/Sundering Weapon. If cracked armor proves to be powerful then I imagine several new skills which apply it will be nerfed quickly. I wouldn't bring a shatter just for this. I'd use this as a cover hex. --Redfeather 19:19, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
I like that this is more of a support skill- Mesmers seem to interact very little with other classes in PvE. Plus, its a new use/effect, rather than the same things in different combinations. --- Catraine

The damage is rather low compared to Conjure Phantasm and Images of Remorse, so it could use a buff to -1..4 degen to be able to compete with existing illusion spells. Narayanese 14:04, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Post GW:EN release feedback

This skill is bugged. Cracked armor does not work at all. I cast this spell on the 80AL barrels on Nameless Isle as an AsMe expecting Malicious Strike to do the same damage as it does on the 60AL barrels. Well once Cracked Armor forms, you still do the lesser damage as if it wasn't present at all. --arredondo 20:06, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

I dunno about bugs but I have been using Fragility, then this, then Accumulated Pain, Drain Delusions, and of course Virulence to stack Deep wound, cracked armor, weakness, poison, and disease on one target, along with up to 200 frag damage! wewt! --WiNG 16:12, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Original skill feedback

I think a lot of female characters already suffer from Shrinking Armor, if you know what I mean. Sirocco 05:00, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

I don't think people know what you mean by that, not at all. ;) ~ Reaper 08:07, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
And it keeps shrinking, this outfit makes female Mesmer Krytan armor look prudish in comparison. -- Gordon Ecker 00:15, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Could be a good cover hex, but recharge will certainly prevent this use. Anyway seems quite balance 3 life regen for 5e is not bad, and allows to spread condition. --82.243.4.182 10:00, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Shatter delusions, drain delusions. GG 88.169.112.155 10:20, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

mmh could be elite, "its like migraine" for warrior, ranger, sin, para and dervish, quite annoying 84.146.157.112 10:59, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Err, aren't all of the mesmer skills armour ignoring anyway? lol, I guess it's a good support skill. Changing the cost/activation/recharge so that it matches Images of Remorse would be cool. (Terra Xin 01:50, 22 July 2007 (UTC))

I'm happy that a new condition is being added to mesmer's skills. With epidemic/hypochondriac and fevered dreams it's nice.--Redfeather 14:14, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Translation Suggestions

To avoid some bad skill translations i'm opening a comment for new skills so everybody can post their translation suggestions in various languages, have fun :) --YukoIshii 00:11, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

French: Armure Rétrécie Utaku 16:09, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Shrinking implies a continuous action, it'd be better as "Armure Rétrécissante" --Theeth 23:40, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
