Would work well with "By Ural's Hammer!" if anyone in your party is below 50% health. Pushbiscuit 20:47, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Works great with "watch yourself" too, cuz then u have ias, block, and +20+ armor.

Suggestion[edit]

This might make i imba but make it...

"Soldiers Stance Elite Stance: for 10 seconds you attack 33% faster and if under the effects of a chant or shout you gain 40 armor""

How about, "For 1...9...10 seconds, you attack 33% faster and your tactics attribute is raised by +2 while under the effects of a Shout or Chant." Like a cross between soldier's fury and expert's dexterity. Otherwise no warrior is going to want to spend their elite slot on a conditional IAS that takes up their stance slot unless it has some side benefit. I know there are no other warrior stances without a downside that give you a maintainable 33% IAS, but the downsides of flail and frenzy are easy to deal with and they are both non-elite. I would like it if they did a PvE/PvP split and made the PvE one last as long as flail too. Necromas 22:59, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Probably imba but the suggestion is make it uncondition IAS and have annother benifit of having a shout if it was an IAS without a downside it'd see a LOT more play imo. Still Primal Rage is just broken it shud take higher priority on the buffs list :D Destructos Maximus 22:31, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Gain more adrenaline maybe, the shout/chant is a big downside, since it's an elite IAS should have unconditional 33% attack speed imo. but since all IAS have a downside, you could lose armour while under this skill, also since it's a "soldiers" skill, shouts/chants are pretty required. this was okay before watch yourself was nerfed. Zyko

Unconditional IAS? Heart of Fury... Oh, but that's not a Warrior skill, it is linked to a primary attribute, it doesn't have a downside (isn't that a bonus, actually?) and it is NOT an elite. Is it... balanced?

this skill is great jsut that with the its uses are limited, especially since they nerfed "Watch Yourself" there arent any shouts that a warrior can keep up that will synergise with this skill heck there are no maintainable shouts anymore. what would be nice is if the extended it to work on Echos as well.

That's pretty much balanced if scaled 5...10..11 seconds with Tactics. It's in a crappy attribute and you get kited.
heart of fury is removable and can't be maintained permanently = downside. 71.230.145.170 18:20, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Stances can be removed too, though less common. And another downside is it has a cast time. This definitely needs a buff, Soldier's Fury already did and it started better. Maybe something like this.
Soldier's Stance Soldier's Stance

5 Energy0 Activation time8 Recharge time Elite Stance. (1...9...11 seconds.) You attack 33% faster. You gain +15...27...30 armor while under the effects of a shout or chant. <>Sparky, the Tainted 00:37, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

XSoldier's Stance Soldier's Stance 5 Energy 12 Recharge time shout for 1...7...9 you attack 25% faster while in a stance. if your are not in a stance this shout ends. when this shout ends you loose all stances.X A bit of a twist on the "soldier" line makeing it a shout gives you frredom to use another stance but linking its duration to your stance and your stance to this skill brings it into ballance. you can either counter the shout or counter the stance and null both. the drop for 33% to 25% is to tame it down, surely the most obvious use of this skill would be sprint. similar change can be made to soldiers defence. just an option.. think about it. an warrior IAS w/o a debilitating downs side is cause enough for elite. further more its in tactics line wich is allows for flexibility in builds as traditionaly Tactics warriors are defensive. This change would allow ths kill use in a vaiety of situations while not makeing it op imo. the armor bonus idea is ok but uncondtional 33% ias with possible 30+ armor, only in your dreams. and +2 tactics only in my wet dreams. oh and the -armor idea, lets face it armor is all warriors got why would you take that from them? if there was a skill in the warrior primary line that gave you +20 nrg and +2 pip of nrg regen the consider a -armor bonus. the X----X was an attempt to seperate the skill discription from the rant, didnt work out...62.150.7.18 15:16, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Completely outclassed by Soldier's Fury?[edit]

Is there any reason to use this over Soldier's Fury? I mean, Soldier's Fury cannot be removed and lasts longer, even at 0 Leadership. The 1 second cast time can be overlooked; it is only a small nuisance in my mind.

I would agree, except for the 1 second cast time, Soldier's Fury annihilates this skill. But consider that in PvE, you have lots more PvE shouts that can stay on and give you the bonus. It really all depends on your build and much you want to experiment.FleshAndFaith 19:59, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
Class choice too, Warriors are a bit more common then Paragons. Even as a secondary. 71.127.159.233 05:12, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Nerf the elite status of this skill (warrios have 1 elite too many). And give Mesmers thier missing elite while at it. ^_^ --Falconeye 06:37, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Removing the elite status of this actually might not let it see more play anyway, so sure. Paddymew 11:45, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, warriors have one more extra elite. If one elite is to be demoted, this should be the one. And I'm also for the missing Mesmer elite. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 16:00, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
  • Sigh* Flail and Burst of Aggression are both generally superior to this skill for adrenaline and energy builds respectively, aren't elite, and nobody uses Tactics anyway. Even a Para wouldn't use this since Soldier's Fury is indeed entirely superior. Going through the list of Tactics skills is like a funeral procession... Astralphoenix777 07:58, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
If this was unelite, Charge + this would be very nais. 99.58.115.182 01:25, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

No Duration in Concise[edit]

anyone else find this weird? - Byakko User Page 07:54, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, seems a bit TOO concise to me. Charon 00:03, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Feb. 2010 Update[edit]

Nice for PvE now, permanent 75% block and 33% IAS with a feeder shout. 15 tactics to make it permanent is kind of a pain but should be good enough with 11 or 12 tactics. 141.224.237.173 21:50, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Or dwarven stability.--Ipsen 22:09, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
With 13 tactics as per a 12+2/12+1 (whatever weapon you use/tactics) build with Fear Me crits balancing for the lack of Str ArPen, one second downtime still leaves this insanely powerful. One could consider it a more PvE-flavoured equivalent of pre-nerf Prage, providing a very close to maintainable IAS aswell as 75% block for stupidly high reduction of incoming damage at the same time. Consider combining with an energy-based shout to feed the IAS clause while charging Fear Me, after which maintaining the requirement is effortless anyway. No need to waste a PvE-skillslot on dwarven stab. Talk‎ena. 14:18, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
Yep. There are plenty of ways to make this work. 12 + 1 Tactics can work. I wouldn't use anything below that, though, because 2+ seconds of downtime hurts. Also, remember that the lower your Tactics is, the harder it'll be to maintain Fear Me with its 6 second recharge. A lot of builds with 9-10 Tactics generally have no issues maintaining the stance itself with something like Dwarven Stability, but they run into problems maintaining the IAS, often with a couple seconds of downtime before charging Fear Me again. I run this with Penetrating Blow/Chop and a sundering axe - combined it all does the most damage when running with axes. I also use this with To The Limit, since you don't really need FGJ with skills that cost only 4-6 adrenaline, and because it allows me to equip a major Tactics rune to maintain the stance fully with no HP penalty. I'm not sure if this is the most ideal setup, but I intend to play around with it more to find out. Terek Zelta 14:19, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

"To the limit!" will give you a maintainable shout at only 7 tactics, and it will also give you 3 adrenaline at the start of a fight and every 15 seconds (4 at 8 tactics). It'll cost you considerable energy to maintain though, at least for a warrior. Necromas 02:38, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

"To the Limit!" is a good way to start off. You can just switch Watch Yourself! and Fear Me! after the fight has started. If the updates also applied to PvP, I'd half expect to see this on an Iway build :P FleshAndFaith 19:16, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
"Fear Me!" is especially good. I've been cranking Tactics all the way to 16 and I'm contemplating Way of Perfection. Cirian 04:58, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Heroes never use this skill[edit]

Regardless of build or the presence of shouts, heroes won't use this skill on their own volition. If you want to micro it that'll still work obviously but that is the only way to get them to activate the skill. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:khift (talk).

I have no idea what you're talking about. I just went out to the isle of the nameless with Goren, To The Limit! and Soldier's Stance on his bar. I told him to attack a dummy and he used TTL!, and then used Soldier's Stance. I use this fairly often on heroes, and I've never seen them not use it. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 17:52, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

IMO, they need to change the AI. I've noticed that they will use this skill as a block so unless they are not getting attacked they won't use it. I use this skill with To The Limit! and Fear Me! =) Zehel03 23:22, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

I have this stance and TTL on Jora who is wielding a hammer right now. She seems to only use it when near death or possibly after being attacked a lot. Eitherway, heroes are not very efficient at using this skill and do seem to use it defensively rather than to its full potential.

Change to Adrenalin[edit]

Imo, changing this to an adrenaline skill, 5-7, while keeping it a stance, would make it much more useful. Energy denial is oh so common in pve, making this skill rather useless in most places. It would be a complement to defy pain which can't be stripped in pve. Both would still be balanced in pvp though, seeing as how it isn't that hard to bring a stance removal. 70.145.246.222 18:39, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
