Buff it[edit]

IMO make it a bit more powerfull soul barbs,5 energy cost 1 secund cast time "Next time target foe casts a spell that spell fails and you steal up to XX health"81.244.114.207 17:23, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

The life stealing is very low for this skill and even elementals can easily overcome the life stealing from this spell with Aura of Restoration (using high cost spells) and with Mystic regeneration can actually cancel out the affects of this hex.William Wallace 00:48, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

First of all, Necromancers have the best skills to remove more if not all enchantments (Goodbye Attuner). Furthermore, I wonder why a blood mage should have Blood Magic at 15 if he can easily reach 18. Now, pierce through 94 life stealing! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Noctarch (talk) at 22:47, 8 May 2008 (UTC).

Considering that the frequency at wich you can attack is much greater that that which you can cast spells. anti attacker skills such as these should have a much lower duration and a much lower dmg rang. and since the frequence at wich you cast spells is much less to have equivilant efectivness they should do much more dmg and last much longer... why the heck is it that every time i turn around i see boost to anti attacking skills and debufffs to attack skills and anti spell casting skills? 99.207.11.68 20:59, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Prime example... Soul leach 10 sec duration max and pitifull dmg out put. empathy 16 seconds masive dmg and can be recast before its duration ends. Back fire.. good dmg but the duration jsut isnt enough, and the nrg cost + recharge time make it pointless.99.207.11.68 21:12, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Ive used this in hero battles. Backfire/Soul Leech on hero casters and they just blow themselves away. Moderate hex removal on the opposing team makes it much less effective though. I think the reason that its only 80health steal is because thats also 80health healing. In a sense its a 160 possitive effect. cast it on a monk? let that enemy monk heal you too!--Justice 19:07, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Seconded. This is nice for monks that cast spam spells like Reversal of Fortune, plus since this is life-stealing, it will cut right through their Protective Spirit or other defensive enchantments. Elder Angelus 18:17, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Thirded. It's very nice on the enemy monk. Monks cast often & fast. Besides with this skill on them they have to spend every 2nd heal on themselves. By the way what's that idiotic comparison with Emphaty? How often do you run into casters attacking with their weapons? It only gives a 5 second gap before it runs out so it's pretty maintainable. Hex removing? There's a thing called cover her , you use it to prevent your important hexes from being removed ( Thank you Grenth for Parasitic Bond). 94 life stealing is pretty hard , especially since the blood necro is likely to rend your selfhealing enchanments.(77.70.60.74 18:19, 17 June 2008 (UTC))

Ninja Backfire[edit]

There aren't that many PvPers who run this skill. One of the reasons I do (and I do, on rare occasion) is because no one really notices it. Put Backfire on a monk, even with plenty other hexes and conditions and other buffs, they will recognize it. Put THIS on a monk, and with plenty of other buffs/debuffs over their head, they won't recognize what is hurting them. It's like Backfire, but instead of being brutish, it is stealthy. Like a ninja. AI and Soul Leech[edit]

While I was vanquishing shiverpeaks (northern) I have noticed a very strange Frostfire dryders' behaviour. I was running a group with total of 6/6 casters + 3 pets (go moa family!). While all of my heroes and henchies were spamming spells, frostfire dryders didnt use Soul Leech on them at all! (maybe once or twice) Most of the time they were just spamming Soul Leech on pets which was giving them totally no benefits. Its rather strange and I think this should be fixed - or if not - use it wisely and try not to give it to heroes, and when fighting an AI with Soul Leech, always bring few melees. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.20.17.234 (talk) at 11:17, 2 October 2010 (UTC).
