Talk:Speed boost

I'd really like to see someone more knowledgeable pick apart which speed boosts are best for flag running, either here or in the flag running article.--Drekmonger 03:32, 11 February 2007 (PST)

*Dash drastically improves movement speed beyond the normal 33% limit, and is also spammable.

It does, but it is 18.75% faster overall. Maybe change the note to say it is useful for a short burst of speed and gaining ground rapidly, but not the best for sustained running? — Skuld 03:38, 11 February 2007 (PST)
I believe you are correct. Feel free. Open season on anything in any of these tactics documents, really.--Drekmonger 03:56, 11 February 2007 (PST)

TODO enter in the actual speed boosts for each skill.

Monk speed boost link[edit]

" Monks have no speed boosting skills, as satirized in the webcomic Healbot Blues. "
I mean, it's funny and i'm happy to having found this comic page, but such "random links" shouldn't appear on the main article, should they? Merely on talk pages... —ZerphatalkThe Improver 17:21, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

The ironic part is, the skill mentioned in the comic does even exist these days, and some players wanted it to be a speed boost^^ (which is needless imo, as Holy Haste is already a very good skill without giving a speed boost)ZerphatalkThe Improver 17:25, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

someone add this?[edit]

why have something for monk but not necro and rit and whoever else? i mean the thing that says they hve no running skills --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:24.182.202.236 (talk).

Will add it now. Calor Talk 23:35, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

ummm....[edit]

There is no mention here of the dervish skill 'Whirling Charge'

thanks for mentioning. Skill lists like this one are often not complete on GWW, so if you notice any skill missing, feel free to add it the same way the other skills are there. even if you don't know what it should exactly look like, just add the content. there's many people who will notice you changed something and correct it if you made a mistake :) - Y0_ich_halt User Y0 ich halt sig.jpg 15:50, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

and also the paragon skill "incoming" --75.35.72.10 12:23, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

traps[edit]

does anyone knows what speedbuff you must have to be able to avoid traps, maybe notable

25% IMS is enough. - Y0_ich_halt User Y0 ich halt sig.jpg 11:29, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

depends what part you go over 86.5.200.85 13:27, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Speed boost cap, while under tar[edit]

Is it capped at +33% while under tar, or is it capped at +63% while under it (Tar reduces speed by 30%). Mason717 23:19, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Late but your speed will always be capped at a positive 33% increase, so while under the effects of tar you could have say dash and armor of mist and come out with a 50% IMS, because dash can surpass the 33% cap. Also works with flail.

Average[edit]

It would be nice to see the averages over time under normal use of these skills.97.122.125.203 03:15, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

I was just thinking that myself... but it'd all depend on what your rank was. I keep trying to figure out if Dash is good or not for running missions such as Aurora Glade. vashXIII 06:18, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Capped at slightly over 33%[edit]

The IMS cap seems to be slightly over 33%.

  • In HM, foes will usually not break aggro with a 33% IMS; however when stacking another IMS they will (figured it out while farming Vaettirs with a hero which randomly cast Godspeed over "Make Haste!" when I started running)
  • While running with heroes (with W/P party-wide shouts always active), I seem to gain a little bit on them when stacking on myself another 33% or 25% IMS that does not affect them.

Might have something to do with the enemies running slower (maybe 30% speed boost) than you, but i dont know. --Mlw640User Skallen640 Skull.png 05:49, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

consumables[edit]

What about consumables that increase speed like essence of celerity? shouldn't they be on here also? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 97.83.32.242 (talk).

They are mentioned in the overview. Might be worth listing them possibly but maybe not since most of them only work in towns.- TheRave talk (talk) 12:05, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

Added a mention to consumables that were missing in the overview (those that grant speed boosts in the battlefield) Beleeth 15:07, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

There's not enough time![edit]

Should it be added?(Probably at misc) Aerials93 13:52, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
