Does not work with ranged attacks.

/lolswithu "melee" means sword, dagger, scythe, stuff like that, not ranged XD 84.192.144.207 13:10, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Because a sword looks soooo much like viagra. (sarcasm). --Image:User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 22:01, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
I /lol'd at that. He's OBVIOUSLY saying the sword looks like a viagra pill. "(sarcasm)"

it look like he just came out of an expidition in a bedroom with his gf 72.209.41.202 23:35, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

/res this convo. Viagra is blue, just like this skill. And with the all the other innuendos, it might well be there is a dirty minded dev in the ranks =]. --Saberhagen (My Talk) 19:58, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Assassin

This is handy to cast onto assassins, because they attack quickly so get extra benefit from this spell when they double attack, and it opens up some dagger attacks that require enchantments, so they can attack with unblockable strikes, cause deep wound, or get more energy. Elder Angelus 21:41, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Strength of honor + shocking/fiery/icey dagger tangs + conjure lightening/flame/frost + 16 dagger mastery = nice amount of fast damage =]

Seriously though, Strength of Honor + Palm Strike + Falling Lotus Strike + Twisting Fangs + Palm Strike + Holy Strike -- Uses 20 energy in all and even assuming they block they still take damage from Palm Strike and Holy Strike. Gotta try this out. --80.16.169.162 15:59, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Palm strike won't KD so you might have to add one more skill to that or something. mabye Trampling ox

[edit] NERFED?!

And for what reason? If anything, Every smiting spell in the line need MORE help. the only usable smiting build are signets and retribution/holy wrath. Bad move, arena net.

Obs GvG, please. Also, sign comments with four tildes(~).--Fallen (talk) 21:36, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
or HA, lol -FireFox Image:User_FireFox_av.png 21:38, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Suitable fix for the more serious forms of PvP. In PvE and RA you can simply cast it before you go in. Odds that it will be removed in there are pretty small anyways. 157.193.77.103 19:07, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

A kill imo :/ just change to holy damage already :/.Lilondra 19:33, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

So people started using it, so what? This skill has been around for how long and it's been fine? Nerfing this (especially to this extent) is stupid. =\ The same thing with Mantra of Inscriptions. That's been around since when and just because someone put some shitty build on PvX and everyone started using it doesn't mean it needs to be slaughtered. Next thing you know they're going to nerf Reversal of Fortune just because almost every monk in GvG and HA use it. RitualDoll 10:06, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
SoJ mez was/is imba. That's why they nerf it. RoF is not, so no worriez. Dark Morphon(contribs) 10:58, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] >____>

If it was Holy Damage, Smiting the Undead would be too easy. that might be the problem with doing that.--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Phill Gaston (talk).

But it would be fun. — Eloc 14:45, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

AoB has the desired effect. And its tons of fun :D206.53.17.64 01:32, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Why is this skill not updated to a PvE version? 84.84.179.39 19:28, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Because they're hugely lazy and forget to revert PvE versions of skills like Deadly Paradox and this one. -Auron 06:53, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] problem with heroes?

Ok, i put this on ogden, told him to use it on me. He'd cast it, and then the second it was put on me he would cancel it.216.119.178.127 07:22, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Hold shift and click it to put the red cancel sign on it then have him use it on you --70.105.24.214 23:16, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] awesome

From 5...13...15 to 1...4...5.

Anet, if you do not feel like balancing a skill, remove it completely so it doesn't clog up our skill list. SniperFoxImage:User_SniperFox_IconSmall.gif

Ya, it's never good when a skill's minimum power become its maximum. Robot Ninja Pirate 00:14, 15 May 2009 (UTC) Robot Ninja Pirate

[edit] That thing is dead

Izzy ahtes Smiting Prayers, he really does... this skill is completely useless now, it is not as if it still was decent or usable in any way... simply dead. 95.89.96.89 00:12, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] How about

How about 25 energy, 5 second cast, and 90 second recharge while you're removing skills?

[edit] PvE Version

Is godly. 68.58.91.59 05:47, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

WOW! saw the pvp version first and laughed. This skill got a 66% dmg buff. Pets will really love smite monks--Justice 06:24, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

lol it's like they directly transfered the nerfed PvP points into the PvE version.(marsc 15:22, 15 May 2009 (UTC))
hehe I'm loving the PvE version. Might encourage more melee and less nuking

I ran this earlier on my warrior; SoH was amazing with orders and hundred blades. Pew pew pewww!Pika Fan 15:55, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

It basically doubles damage of swords and axes.

I don't mean to be rude but are the PvP vs PvE versions some sort of a sick joke? Honestly why buff this skill...imo completely unfounded and utter crap. Jaian Avery 01:03, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

They buffed this skill because it was crap in PvE, and is now viable. <>Sparky, the Tainted 02:13, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
This was far from crap in PvE. 68.58.91.59 17:18, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

I found it viable before when used with several heros with pets. 15dmg X 4 = 60. now thats 100extra dmg for 1 skill slot on my smite (roj) monk. Just gotta take livia for bip is all--Justice 07:12, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

It makes Stefan and Little Thom engines of destruction now, if only they had some decent attack skills.(marsc 14:08, 17 May 2009 (UTC))

EXCELLENT! im thanking the ANet gods for this one. finally my crappy tombs farm wont take an hour for each run. orders and conjure (lighting so that you can put points into your perma glyph) makes this grind things into the ground. quickly. espeically when used with the sunspear crit agility. 33 IAS ne1?

Um what? You do realise this is a monk skill right? and not a sin/ele skill? Obviously take a monk hero with but yeah...Justice 11:43, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

More to the point, conjures don't stack with orders, physical damage and all that. --Ckal Ktak 20:46, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

My sin says "Thank you"
