Grawl Bosses[edit]

The grawl bosses in Talus Chute are on this map http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Image:Edibbo_Pekpek_Talus_Chute_location.jpg

End of the world[edit]

I added the route, since the description was vague. Tell me if i messed up.. Joetjah 07:41, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Missing Icy Ground effect[edit]

There's an area in the top right corner of Talus Chute, where there's ground that resembles ice, but no icy effect takes place when standing on it. I'm not sure if this is worth noting as an Anomaly in the Notes section. Twelve Souls 21:38, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Enemies from Icedome[edit]

Interestingly, there's a few enemies you can see from Talus Chute that exist in the Icedome. Possible assassin exploitation could render them killable, but testing would be needed. Might be worth noting, but it's a minor detail. Twelve Souls 21:41, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Grawl boss weirdness[edit]

Twice in three runs through the north section, as I killed a Grawl boss, a Grawl spawned in its place, right as it died. Is this a known anomaly? Does it happen anywhere else? Manifold 17:08, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Assuming you killed the monk boss, see Unyielding Aura. – Emmett 20:52, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
Ah, silly me. I'm not used to enemies using it, and it wouldn't be as noticeable in a full group. Manifold 22:35, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

The note/map for the grawl bosses is wrong[edit]

All five bosses spawn; the missing one is along the top/north row of three (he's at the right/east end of the metal descent leading into the frozen water). 99.29.79.156 17:36, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

I'll go investigate. File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 09:07, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
Turned out there was indeed a missing spawn point on the ice pier. File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpg Chieftain Alex 10:02, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Vanqing[edit]

409 Foes, 2hr 7min h/h. Really sucky map to vanq. Lots of elementalists with aoes and snares on the east side, lots of physicals/enchant stips/minion stealing in the middle and lots of kd on the western side. Not a hard zone to vanq, just annoying. There are a few large mobs of all 3 varieties that will probably just over whelm you but you shouldnt fail the map because of them. Also there are a couple patrols, most notably tundra giants that like to take a long stroll and are easy to miss. If you cant find the last couple hunt here first. Oh and please be sure to start the vanq out from ice caves heading north to the ice dome portal to make sure there isnt that bugged mob on the other side of the portal, would be real bad if that was the last mob ;-) Justice 00:13, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

403 Foes, 1h 10 min h/h Discordway. Wasn't that bad of a map really annoying Ice imps and giants knock down is true tho.
I did as he said for the bugged mob on the other side of the portal, had no problems. FrogKnight87 21:09, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
391 Foes, 1h 30 min starting from ice caves and working my way north (to intercept patrol that could head into Ice Dome. Cleared the map in about an hour but spend 30 minutes to find the last Avicara mob. Found them just north of Droks facing a wall (the area where the base of the wall still has dirt), as if bugged and they couldn't run any further. - dunno how to sign, 9 July 2018. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.132.198.26 (talk).
There is also a group of Avicara with a large patrol route that are easy to miss - I think I spent longer hunting them than I did on the rest of the enemies combined. I eventually found them in the southeast quadrant of the map, due southeast of the area's name, directly north of the westmost portion of Droknar's Forge. Lillian ap Cor 21:36, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, just did this today for the zaishen vanquish, wasn't really pushing for speed and I think it took just under a couple of hours (had double Fall Back tho). Had to hunt for the last giant patrol but they showed up after a bit. It surely is an annoying map, more annoying because I just realised I forgot to pick up the zquest first. Damn. ;-) 2.24.247.106 10:04, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
392 foes, just under an hour and a half. Pious Haste.jpg God Of Fissures 15:25, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
401 foes, 1hr 19min. Revisisted this area after 7 years! Still an annoying vanq. The center of the map holds small pockets of foes up high in the mountains that are easy to miss because of the map's broken up pathing that doesn't make it clear cut and dry on how to reach them. The Ice blobs and ineptitude tengu spammers indeed can wipe your party pretty fast if taken casually. Justice (talk) 21:02, 1 September 2017 (UTC)

VQ Bug[edit]

Removed the 'patrol leaving for Icedome not letting you finish vq' bug. I vq'd yesterday and let them leave before reading the page, but it let me finish anyhow. Maybe fixed?NachosWitCheese 22:36, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

Don't know, I tried vanquishing here (one of my last three places for Tyria) a few days ago, and I got around 410 enemies, spent 45 minutes finding the last enemy(ies), and absolutely did NOT find anything. I then read that info that it could make the vanquish null if the group portals, so I placed the blame on it. I'm not sure if any recent update fixed it however. About to give it another go. -Alright, did it again, and had no problems, but I did start from the icedome entrance so I would see the group, never did. --ScorpDeception63 02:20, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
Next time, do not remove the bug notice from the page without confirmation. A friend of mine had trouble vanquishing the area because of that one group. Definitely not fixed. Enoxon 10:59, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Just completed the vanq - spent an extra half hour thinking I'd run into that bug, but turns out i'd missed a patrol of Tundra Giants on the far West side of the map. :D

I vanquished the area twice...first time I didn't know of bug...I spent 2 hours hunting for possibly missed patrols, but never found them (401 foes killed and not done yet). The I gave up...wikied it and seen that bug. I vanquished the area again...started from Icedome portal, killed all ice golems along the river, killed 390 enemies and still not complete. I have been hunting that tricky avicara patrol and I eventually got them, but it's not done yet! I am still in the area waiting for miracle. I don't have nerves to do it again.93.86.29.45 13:20, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
How frustrating. 390 kills and I'm completely stuck. I started from Camp Rankor and zig-zagged the map with the intention my final leg heading north on the easternmost frozen river from Ice Caves, ending at Icedome. Just as I was killing the last group of golems, I saw some Stone Summit behind them. After the golems, I lost track of the Summit completely. Is this the patrolling group that disappears into Ice dome and bugs the vanquish? I've roamed the map, flagged off heroes at choke points, and waited by the portal - no one, nowhere, nothing. Has this been reported? -Ninjatek 04:09, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
I vanquished it today starting from Droks and had no troubles, beyond the fact that it takes a long time. Could it just be that a group was missed? I know the Avicara patrols can be rediculous, and there are a few shadow pop-ups. Weindrasi 06:27, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Weindrasi
You are a lifesaver, ran into the same group as my final one, however I stood there for five minutes in front of them and they didn't move so either they follow a finite path or spawn after a certain condition is met, for reference they're on the far west on the narrow ridge. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Stratzvyda (talk • contribs) at 07:50, 17 January 2012 (UTC).

Just run into the bug myself after vanquishing 389 foes. Left from Camp Rankor and cleared the west before moving to the east. Got wiped and ressurected at the Icedome portal, noticed the patrol on the other side of the portal and had to advise the player I was with not to attack. Continued to vanquish until we reached 389 and then ran out of foes. We'd already got both the Giant patrols on the ridge, the Avicara patrol that seems to stop just north of the entrance to Drok's and all the shadows in the north-east. We conferenced called for over an hour while searching the map by splitting up and flagging our heros, no foes anywhere. I stood next to the Icedome portal and counted 7 foes, a mix of Stone Summit and Ice Golems. Finally gave up and went into Ice Caves of Sorrow, no vanquish reward:(--EvilDarkVoid 03:47, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Ok, the bug definately exists. A group of foes left the area through the portal to Ice Dome and got stuck there. I filed a bug report in the game bugs forum now. --Smiley-1 22:19, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
I've re-added the bug since i've got confirmation yesterday that it still exists the way i described in my bug report on the official forums. --Smiley™ de: user | talk 10:28, 15 October 2013 (UTC)

Post-elementalist rebalance[edit]

Be very wary of the ice imps and siege ice golems in the east portion of the map. Without sufficient shutdown (read:without Panic, Psychic Instability, Cry of Frustration, Complicate, or a well-prepped Maelstrom) you will be wiped in a matter of seconds. Big groups, extreme pressure (Deep Freeze + Rust + Water Trident, and Maelstrom + Mind Freeze + Ice Spear). Just a note for vanquishing or general PvE play. - Infinite - talk 20:22, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
