[edit] Auto-target/attack

I wanted to include a description for auto-target/attack (referring to this one and this one), but wording it has proven to be quite a challenge for me:

[edit] Auto-target/attack

You can target a foe that is:

  • within your screen's field of view (up to a certain range from your character),
  • has its name displayed (without holding the CTRL key),

by either pressing the spacebar, or activating a skill in your skillbar. Targeting a foe in this manner will cause your character to target and attack that foe. In situations where there are more than one foe that satisfy both criteria, the foe that is closest to the center of your screen will be targeted.

Also, activating a skill that targets a foe, without any foes targeted, will target the foe nearest your character. (You see where I'm having problems.)

I appreciate any revisions or suggestions you guys might have. Brownspank 07:03, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cancel Called Target

Is there any way to cancel, make disappear a called target? other than killing the foe or going off radar, that is. 218.160.176.37 16:23, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Stationary Targeting

moved from Subst:Stationary Targeting

I'm not sure I understood everything but... isn't it the Shift+Space? OR I don't understand sth Gelei 10:45, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

No, that's declaring an attack without actually attacking. I'm talking 'you declare the attack', but if the opponent is in range, you just wait. Once they're in range, you start attacking. So, if you're a melee fighter, you don't rush towards them, you hold your ground, and if they come to you, THEN you start whacking them. If they flee, you don't give chase. [edit] Suggestion to Monks

Unless losing strafe movement really bothers you (which I myself have changed strafe left to "A" and strafe right to "D"), I highly reccomend that you change your "Q" and "E" keys to "Target Previous Ally" and "Target next ally". This works amazingly well for targeting, especially in Alliance Battles, where you only have four party members to toggle through. Not only can you target faster, but you can do so while moving with less complcations. Obviously everyone uses different custom keybindings once they're comfortable modifying the default setting, but I personally have found this very helpful. -nods- ~ Ryuu Desu User_Ryuu_Desu_Sig.png Talk 16:58, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

You only have 4 players to tab through. You can count, can't you? Pika Fan 11:07, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Lost called target

Hitting control space now changes my chat language rather than calling a target. Wondering if anyone knows why and how to fix it. New install on a laptop, tried reseting controls and couldnt find any language control. 74.36.53.18 01:16, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Interesting...I assume you've tried the keybindings menu? ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 01:27, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes can't find anything that looks even vaguely related in it and reset should have everything right.74.36.53.18 01:47, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Well my support ticket was answered, they said they are aware of the issue and will fix it in a future update if anyone else has the same problem.74.36.53.18 13:48, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
