Talk:The Prize Winning Hogs

From Guild Wars Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search

Tried it out at least a couple of times in the past, as well as just now, and I always had to round up 5 hogs before I got the quest reward. I'm changing it to 5 for now. Brownspank 16:26, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Weird?[edit]

Was this quest taken out or something? I can't do it, i've rounded up all 5 of them. Nothing happens. Is there something special you have to do to get it to work? Maybe complete a certain quest of something? Blackish Deadarrow 22:15, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

When I tried to do the quest after helping the farmer clear the field of worms I think that is when it stopped working. But before that all you have to do is round them up and he will give you the reward. Not really 100% sure of what it is doing but I can do some research within the next couple of days and post my findings. --Sktbrd341 22:41, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Donner, Party of Two![edit]

Tested this quest over and over again and came to the conclusion that there needs to be another person in you party in order for you to get the reward. --Sktbrd341 18:54, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Still Works..[edit]

I just did this quest. Farmer Dirk will start a dialog about "Wolves eating my hogs..." or something like that. Once he finishes...THEN start rounding up the hogs. Very easy with one person if you have ever herded sheep or hogs IRL. LOL. IrishRedneck 15:36, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

The way this works: If Dirk is outside of the pen, you talk to him, then round up the pigs. No need to have 2 people, and no level requirement as far as I can tell (am standing here with a fresh N1). I suspect the dialog speaks of using "a friend" because sometimes the annoying buggers leave the pen while you chase down another one. (Ralmon the Gen 19:50, 5 January 2009 (UTC))

Whodunnit![edit]

When you get the 25g reward, part of the dialog is "Let me know if you find out who did this." Has anyone ever found out who always lets out the poor farmer's pigs? :p (Ralmon the Gen 19:58, 5 January 2009 (UTC))

Since Farmer Dirk lets his hogs root in his neighbour's field, he may well have done it himself.  Also the player may do it so the quest is available the next time he 're-zones'.      mtew 01:49, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Please put the infobox back.[edit]

Backsword: This activity is no longer categorized as to campaign or region. You have rewritten the body of the article as a mini-game. While I don't entirely agree that that was a good idea, I do strongly object to your breaking the categorizations. You've argued that I violated the 1RR. That is being debated. With this change, you have thoroughly and undeniably broken that rule again.

Viable gold farm?[edit]

Is this a good way to farm gold in Pre-Searing Ascalon?
