Restructured list of titles[edit]

I attempted to make a title table more clear and also separate PvE and PvP titles when possible. You can see the result below. Though a visible size of the table is increased, its structure became more simple and understandable (at least, I hope so). The table still can contain errors, please comment if you want to improve something here. --Slavic 23:26, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

it is smaller and nicely layed out.- User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 00:13, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
I agree with Zesbeer. -- Konig/talk 00:30, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
as you can see i made a modified version of that nav i dont know how to uncenter it someone with more wiki code xp can fix it but it is now exactly the same.- User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 00:47, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
i prefered Slavics... =/ Headchopperz 23:12, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
i gotta go with slavics on this one. It's just much easier to look at things side by side char core, acct core... is there anyway to make the smaller one two columns, instead of rows? Quiznos 12:47, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

merge or split[edit]

it has come up and been noticed that a lot of the title pages are non uniformed and to address this issue to ideas have come up:

  • split all the title pages and have the title pages have 2 pages 1 page that talks purely about the title and ranks and a second page that would be a guide on how to get the title.
  • merge the guides with the existing title pages because they are just repeat information and the guide "should be on the page anyway"

personally i favor spiting the articles but i can see how it might be affective to merge. please discuss.- User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 00:50, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

I find it more affective to have the guide and the title info on the same page. Not only does that give immediate background on the title for those who are looking at the guide, but it also allows easy access to a guide for those who are looking at how many points are needed. If they are split, then they will have to go between pages. It's not a huge issue, but there at least needs to be a consistency. And I say to merge title ranks and the guides. -- Konig/talk 01:09, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
Agree with Konig. --Kyoshi (Talk) User Kyoshi sig.png 16:35, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
Agree here to with konig but isn't it a bit funny that we are talking here about this subject and on the feature page project page the same people.--Wysth 16:37, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
well i was going to put a link on the Requests for comment page but got lazy feel free to do so and place a link anywhere else.- User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 21:19, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
If there is no more opposition to the merging of guides by the time I'm done with finals (next thursday), I'll go ahead and merge the titles with their guides if no one else does. -- Konig/talk 21:27, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
are you done with this? one page i noticed that wasn't merged was max titles and its guide.- User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 23:59, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
I didn't see any articles merged. I know I didn't get to this yet, as I've been busy. I'll do it now. -- Konig/talk 00:30, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Merged them all except the Allegiance titles and Maxed titles with their guide because they overlap too much for me to merge atm. -- Konig/talk 01:09, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
good work! i feel that the max title page and its guide needs to be merged with both the title page and the max title page some info apply to all titles were some of it just apply to gwamm.- User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 01:25, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
The thing is that the other pages didn't overlap with info, but max title and the allegiance pages have some overlap with the guides but are incomplete so with the others I just copy pasted with minor edits here and there. -- Konig/talk 01:33, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

(Reset indent) How about a combined approach? Merge current guides with titles and then review to decide whether any particular one needs to be split (due to length, complexity, or other reason).

Regardless of approach, I do recommend that splitting the mathematical support from main articles. For example, the Lucky articles tend to go on and on about proving one method superior to another. I find it easier to read the recommendation and, if I question the efficacy, visit another article explaining how players determined the best.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:50, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

The issue has more or less been resolved and only one guide remains separate from its respective title page. I dare not touch it as it confused me on how it should be merged when I did the merging and I especially shouldn't now as I'm in a lack-of-sleep mood (though doing surprisingly well!). -- Konig/talk 19:52, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
oh? well, cool. GJ :-)
FYI Based on Guild Wars Wiki:Requests for comment‎, I thought this was still an active discussion.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:20, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Coulda sworn I removed that... -- Konig/talk 03:17, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
And so you have! :-) (better late than tomorrow)  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 04:04, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Survivor?[edit]

I can't see it listed? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.153.77.148 (talk).

Between Party Animal and Sweet Tooth. Also, sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~) and new sections go to the bottom. -- Konig/talk 20:09, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
speaking of survivor...lots of ppl in pre going for survivor...maybe Legendary Survivor of Presearing title??? or at least thats what it says it'll be then u get it and display it and it says "I Need a REAL Job"...71.168.104.48 08:42, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
cool story bro.-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 09:42, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

what if?[edit]

ok so idk how stupid it is to ask but lets say you only need 1 more title for god walking amongst mere mortals on one character, and you get on a different character and max lets say lux/kurz title, this would give the first char god walking, does it announce it or what happens?AurenX 22:04, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

more than likely, the game won't notice until the GWAMM toon shows up later. (Mechanically, I can't see how the game could be aware of the toon that is one title short while it's hanging around your logon window.)  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:24, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Would like to ask a question too. If I maxed Survivor and add statue to HoM, will title dissapear after i delete character on which survivor was done ..?--86.111.111.250 19:23, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
Your statues will still appear in the HoM (in account-mode), even if you delete the characters; you will still get credit in the HoM calculator, too.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:30, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
Thx for reply, good to know.

(Reset indent) So it turns out there was a good example of this a few weeks ago. Someone maxed an account-wide title, got GWAMM, and then signed off/logged on with a new toon. That toon got GWAMM. The same player rotated through more toons, each one reaching GWAMM as soon as they logged on (those characters did not earn any other titles...and for the last few, I had put the account on my Friends list, so I could see them logon and GWAMM simultaneously).

Short story: you do need to logon on to a character to get GWAMM, even if a recent account-wide title would be the 30th title for that toon. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:20, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

Display on other characters[edit]

Honestly...I think it would be really neat if after you maxxed out a title, you could display it on your other charicters aswell. Defender of Ascalon in particular would be cool to display on all of the charicters after one has beaten it. Just a thought, but it might be cool. Tittle connected with number of completed, non-repeatable quest in game[edit]

IMO it's a great idea to push players to appreciate quest designers work, heh. Seriously, I think that it will be nice title for strict PvE player which require form player not only in game cash. This tile could be only one rank - All quest completed - but also step rank - 10, 50, 100, 250, [...] quests completed. What do you think about this suggestion? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Simek (talk • contribs) at 16:41, 4 July 2011 (UTC).

I think you should formally suggest it. (Personally, I'm agin' it, since the game doesn't offer you any way at all to keep track of which quests you have done, which remain available to you, and which will never be available to your toon.)Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:01, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

Apologies if this already exists[edit]

...and I was just not looking in the right place. I would just like a list of the titles that confer in-game bonuses. I really did look and read a number of pages related to titles, but I just couldn't figure it out, and I can't seem to figure it out entirely in-game either. Again, I apologize if this turns out to be a really dumb inquiry :) Gren 05:38, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

I've added them to the article in this edit: Lucky and Unlucky, Treasure Hunter, Wisdom, and the titles listed in Title (skill type). There are also some PvE skills that scale with titles. --Silver Edge 08:14, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Thank you very much--I do appreciate it Gren 01:53, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

Update[edit]

Because of this update, should it be noted on how long it would expected for casual players to max out these account-based titles? --173.55.119.156 01:55, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
