[edit] Salvaging a tormented item

I think the Note on salvaging needs a better explanation. Can someone actually describe what happens if you try to salvage it? I'm not rich or stupid enough to try myself. Guru post --Moeilijk 13:04, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

You can't salvage it Tomoko 14:48, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

It pretty much says you can't salvage it for crafting materials...but you can salvage it for mods. 72.94.140.236 03:54, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

And when you try to salvage it for mods, it can break (unless you use a perfect kit of course)--Lensor (talk) 16:11, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] customized

will it be customized when u get it? --InfestedHydralisk 16:53, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

shield customized :D -88.148.206.51 14:42, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
It customizes when you display it in your HoM, but it doesn't come customized. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 14:44, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Awesome skin!

This is the best shield ever, only thing worth a armbrace in my opinion, gonna buy an armbrace soon, stil trying to decide which stat to get this shield with --Image:User_C4K3_Signature.jpgC4K3 16:44, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

It is nice, but a bit overused -- at least in the GvG you see in observer mode. I swear, sometimes it feels like, *yawn* oh look, another squishie just pulled out a volatiac spear / tormented shield defense set. I'd probably use it if it fit one of my characters, though, but then, for many many reasons, I don't GvG myself :D. --Star Weaver 17:39, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Well you must admit it does look good with Voltaic Spears -- Image:User_C4K3_Signature.jpgC4K3 09:29, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Not really. At least, not when the VS is dyed black. The mismatched animations really just look kind've dumb. xP Bathory talk 13:30, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
Yeah. I saw someone in OBSyland the other day that had a colored VS, blue maybe, with a shield that went, that looked so much better. And I saw plenty of people to whom I wanted to say "BLACK DYE DOSEN'T PROVE ANYTHING!" :P --Star Weaver 16:44, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Well black dyed VS is kinda ugly, mine is red -- which i think looks best C4K3 Image:User_C4K3_Signature.jpg Talk 12:25, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
I bought a black VS. I dyed it white cause it fits my armour. I hate this "you have to dye everything black" rule. Tiberium 18:13, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
there isn't a "you have to dye everything black rule" it's just that some people legitimately like things dyed black.--173.59.59.80 22:29, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
My VS is red ^^, just kinda wish you could dye your torm shields C4K3 Image:User_C4K3_Signature.jpg Talk 13:26, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

i think this is a cool shield but i want to dye it pink--Gozu 19:32, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

Really looks like gungan shields in star wars: the phantom menace

[edit] Animation Bug Question

Apparently after 5 hours logged in, the animation of the shield will stop. It's not clear, however, who will see this bug in effect. As far as I can guess, it seems like a client-side bug, and all people who are logged for over 5 hours will see the animations stop, correct? For example, if I am logged for over 5 hours I will see my Tormented Shield animation frozen, but a friend who just logged in, will still see my shield animate? --Sensei 15:05, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

This is a well known animation issue with all the tormented weapons. -- Wyn talk 15:17, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
That wasn't an answer to his question :P. I would like to know this answer as well. Power WM 01:51, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
I wouldn't claim to be an expert, but I do believe it's a client-side bug, with this and Storm Bows and other extravagant animations. So yes. I don't see why it would work any other way. --70.158.147.185 18:23, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
Isnt it actually 8 hours the animation starts to stop. I always the the 8 hour message and things cease.--Nataliexxx 00:10, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Why strength?

Why do people buy strength tormented shields for casters, instead of an attribute they might be able to run, like Command? - Xerxez 20:27, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

So they can sell it on to wars? --smøni 20:28, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
